Dumb Row: Suge Knight’s Lawyers Popped For Attempting To Bribe Witnesses In His Murder Trial

Image via Nick Ut-Pool/Getty Images Suge Knight’s Lawyer’s Arrested For Trying To Bribe Witnesses Suge Knight should just change his name to Shady Knight and get it over with. While none of us should be surprised that a notorious criminal is associated with other criminals, it’s still, Suge can’t be running around like he’s in an episode of Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul. According to TMZ , Suge’s lawyers, Matthew Fletcher and Thaddeus Culpepper, have been arrested for attempting to bribe witnesses who could give damaging testimony against him in his murder trial. That’s a felony by the way. Fletcher is said to have paid witnesses to testify that they saw Suge’s victims holding guns. That would significantly bolster his claim that he was acting in self-defense. Culpepper is accused of paying an informant of giving favorable testimony to Suge. Both men are being held on million-dollar bail. Continue reading

Two Men Cleared Of Murder Charges After 20 Years Behind Bars, Immediately Turned Over To ICE For Deportation

Getty Images Men Cleared of Murder Charges Not Exactly Free Two men served nearly two decades of their life sentences before their murder charges were completely dropped on Thursday. As if that isn’t terrible enough, instead of walking free, Gabriel Solache and Arturo Reyes were immediately turned over to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and are now facing deportation to Mexico. Both men claim they were beaten by Chicago police Detective Reynaldo Guevara until they confessed to murdering a couple and kidnapping their two young children in 1998, a crime they are now free of. Prosecutors have said they still believe Solache and Reyes are both guilty, but they told a judge on Thursday that they have no choice but to drop the charges since their confessions were since thrown out. Judge James Obbish delivered a speech last week, blasting Guevara’s “selfish choices” for preventing the truth of what actually happened from coming out. Now, 20 years later, instead of going free, they were apprehended by ICE and remain in custody “pending disposition of their immigration cases.” Solache and Reyes are Mexican citizens and could now face deportation.

Texas Cop Indicted For Shooting Unarmed Black Man

The rest is here:

A Dallas County Texas grand jury indicted a Mesquite police officer with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for shooting an unarmed Black man he assumed was breaking into a truck but was actually trying to turn off the alarm of his own vehicle, NBC News Dallas reported. READ MORE: Texas Cop Shoots Unarmed Black Man For Entering His Own Truck Justin Moore , one of the attorneys for the victim Lyndo Jones , said his client wasn’t “too thrilled” with the indictment because District Attorney Faith Johnson should not have “punted to the grand jury.” “Her giving the grand jury the duty to issue the indictment shows that she does not have any fidelity to the people of Dallas County. She punted to citizens and, luckily enough, they ran that punt back and scored a touchdown today,” Moore said. Mesquite Officer Involved in #LyndoJones Shooting Effectively Terminated, Chief Says https://t.co/4wNzJIjqNX pic.twitter.com/cQomO7oo2l — Harry Triple O (@HarryO1975) December 5, 2017 According to the original police report, officers were responding on Nov. 8 to a possible vehicle burglary. They encountered Jones in a truck when they arrived, and Officer Derick Wiley shot him in a scuffle. They claimed Jones was trying to run away, so they charged him with misdemeanor evading arrest and had him transported to the hospital where they kept him handcuffed to his hospital bed. Jones’ attorneys dispute that story, arguing that Wiley shot Jones within 10 seconds of arriving at the scene and a second time in the back while their client was lying on the ground. After an internal investigation, officials suspended Wiley for violating police department policy. READ MORE: Unarmed Black Man Shot By Texas Cop Struggles To Pay Hospital Bills Attorney Lee Merritt , who also represents Jones, said his team had pressed Johnson for a month to file criminal charges against Wiley, adding that he’s “not positive that this office is capable of a zealous prosecution of a law enforcement officer.” Johnson dismissed Merritt’s concerns and stated that he didn’t have all the facts. If convicted, Wiley faces between five and 99 years in prison. Scott Peterson: Was He Plotting to Murder Amber Frey, Too?!

Despite the grisly details of Laci Peterson’s murder and Scott Peterson’s conviction and death sentence, there are still a few people out there who believe that Scott Peterson is innocent. (The comments that we got the last time that we wrote about this are evidence enough of the enduring controversy) We wonder what his defenders will think of the news that Scott Peterson allegedly planned to murder his mistress , too. … Yikes. So, to those of you who may have forgotten, Amber Frey was Scott Peterson’s mistress. She also testified against him in court. Even if you didn’t pay attention at the time of the trial or you were too young to have really been exposed to the coverage, you probably recognize Amber’s name. (And, not for nothing, but “Amber Frey” is one of the best names that we have ever heard, ever, in our lives. But maybe don’t go naming your kids that) It sounds like Amber might have never gotten the chance to testify if Scott Peterson hadn’t been apprehended while allegedly trying to flee south of the border. Scott Peterson looked completely different when he was captured. Law enforcement believed that he had disguised himself in order to flee to Mexico and avoid his trial. He didn’t make it, and now he sits on death row for the murder of Laci Peterson. Laci Peterson was 8 months pregnant. Their child would have been a son named Connor. His fetus was actually found before Laci’s body; investigators believe that the fetus had slipped out of her body while in the water. Laci’s body was also missing most or all of various limbs, along with her head. After such a massive search, it was a … grim find. Scott was convicted, but it sounds like might have done more than just escape if he hadn’t been caught. According to  RadarOnline , Scott Peterson was in possession of a map to Amber Frey’s home . Why, you might ask, would Scott need a map to the home of his mistress? Some apparently believe that he was planning to murder Amber Frey, too. You might wonder what Scott Peterson’s possible motive might have been. But you should remember that Scott Peterson had apparently claimed, weeks before his wife’s death, that he was a recent widower and that this Christmas would be his first without his wife. An absurd lie to tell, even if, at the time, he wasn’t planning Laci’s murder but simply trying to get a little sympathy. But after his wife’s death, one wonders if Scott ever thought about his past words and how they might be used against him. Unfortunately, we don’t know for certain why Scott Peterson might have had that map. We also don’t know even the exact cause of death behind Laci Peterson’s murder. Scott Peterson, despite everything, has maintained his innocence, even as he sits on death row, waiting for his lethal injection. Understandably, Scott would have little to gain from confessing now. And, as we’ve mentioned, he still has some avid supporters who believe that police jumped to conclusions. Hey, O.J. Simpson still has people who believe that he was framed. That’s just how people are. View Slideshow: 21 Stars Who Very Likely Killed Someone

For The First Time In Florida’s History, A White Man Will Be Executed For Killing A Black Man

Follow this link:

Despite all of the racial tension happening in America these days — history is still being made, slowly but surely. For the first time in Florida’s modern history, a White person will be executed for killing a Black person. The Miami Herald reports that 53-year-old Mark James Asay is scheduled to die by lethal injection in Florida State Prison on Thursday night for the racially motivated killing of Robert Lee Booker, who was Black, and Robert “Renee” McDowell, who was Hispanic, in Jacksonville 30 years ago. In the 41 years since Florida reinstated the death penalty, 18 Black men have been executed for killing white victims. Adora Obi Nweze, president of the Florida NAACP, told reporters, “It does make the case [against the death penalty] even stronger that there’s this disparity gap that exists between Black and White — who gets the death penalty and who gets exonerated.” Mark James, a former White Supremacist, will also be the first person put to death with a drug called “etomidate”, leading some critics to accuse the state of using him as a guinea pig. Jen Moreno, a lethal injection expert at the University of California, told reporters, “There are outstanding questions about whether it’s going to do what it needs to do during an execution. The state hasn’t provided any information about why it has selected this drug.” The execution of Mark James Asay is scheduled for 6:00 tonight at the Florida State Prison @CBS12 pic.twitter.com/iYZNvimSFO — Maxine Bentzel (@MaxineBentzel) August 24, 2017 Asay, a prison gang member who used to sport a Swastika tattoo, was sentenced in 1988 for the murders of Booker and McDowell, after he claims he found them dressed in women’s clothes after agreeing to pay for sex. Witnesses added that Asay was searching for prostitutes when he found McDowell and shot him six times. However, Asay said he did not intend to kill McDowell, whom he described as a friend, and that he’d committed the murder in a drunken “meltdown.” Mark James Asay is set to die on Thursday night by lethal injection.
