A news release from the police said that the charges against the deejay, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, were made following the conduct of an interview yesterday afternoon by detectives from the MIT in the presence of his attorneys. “The allegation is that on Monday, July 11, 2011, Palmer, along with other men, conspired to murder Barrington Burton o/c ‘Bossie’, a 27-year-old businessman/promoter of a Gregory Park address in St Catherine. Amanda Knox Verdict: Not Guilty, Murder Conviction Overturned!

Amanda Knox learned her fate at last as the verdict in her high-profile appeal of a murder conviction was read aloud in an Italian courtroom this evening. It was overturned. The jury found her not guilty of murder, but guilty of defamation. She was ordered to be set free immediately after her acquittal. Knox and her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, also cleared today, were sentenced to 25 and 26 years in prison following their 2009 convictions. The 24-year-old student tearfully denied brutally killing roommate Meredith Kercher in Perugia, Italy, 2007, pleading for freedom earlier Monday. “I am not what they say I am. I did not kill. I did not rape. I did not steal,” Amanda Knox said this morning, her voice trembling with emotion. It was the most important speech of her life. It showed, and it worked. “People always ask me, ‘who is Amanda Knox?’ I am the same person that I was four years ago, exactly the same person,” she continued. “The only thing that now separates me from four years ago is my suffering.” Knox and her family, present in Perugia, Italy, for the verdict, have always claimed that Amanda’s imprisonment was a monumental judicial mistake. Prosecutors, in turn, have depicted Knox as a manipulative liar, and were seeking to increase her sentence to life in prison. Instead, she’s free. The jury was made up of the presiding judge, a side judge and six jurors, five of them women, and had several options regarding deliberations. They could acquit both defendants and set them free, which they did. They also could have upheld the conviction, but changed the sentence. Amanda Knox Verdict Over the course of the trial, the defendants’ appeal had significantly improved, mainly because a court-ordered independent review cast serious doubts over the main DNA evidence linking the two to the crime. Prosecutors maintain that Knox’s DNA was found on the handle of a kitchen knife thought to have killed Kercher, whose DNA was on the blade. They also said Sollecito’s DNA was on the clasp of Kercher’s bra as part of a mix of evidence that included the murder victim’s genetic profile. But the independent review – ordered at the request of the defense, which had always disputed those findings – reached a different conclusion. The two experts found that police conducting the investigation had made glaring errors in evidence-collecting and that below-standard testing and possible contamination raised doubts over the attribution of DNA traces. In the end, a jury agreed. Unlike the Casey Anthony case, however, it appears that, at least to a degree, evidence helped clear Knox rather than simply being absent to the degree that she couldn’t be convicted. What do you think? Was justice served? Amanda Knox :

That Chick Cray: “Model Turned Cannibal” Who Murked Her Husband Then Cooked His Body And Ate It Up Is Trying To Get Parole

What-thee-fizzuck?!?!?! A former model convicted of killing her husband, then cooking and eating his remains wants to get out of prison early. Omaima Aree Nelson is seeking early release from her 27-years-to-life sentence for murdering William E. Nelson, 56, over Thanksgiving weekend in 1991. Nelson is scheduled to appear at a parole board hearing next Wednesday in Chowchilla State Prison in Central California. Her first bid at parole was rejected in 2006. Nelson, who worked as a parttime model and nanny in Egypt, immigrated to the U.S. in 1986. She was in her 20′s when she killed her husband and then dismembered and cooked parts of his body in their Costa Mesa apartment. The couple had been married for about a month. After the murder, Nelson cooked her husband’s head on the stove, skinned his torso, fried his hands in oil, Senior Deputy District Attorney Randy Pawloski, who prosecuted the case, told the Daily Pilot. Nelson then drove garbage bags filled with the body parts to various ex-boyfriends, asking them to help dispose of the evidence and offering $75,000 for help, Pawloski said. Neighbors at the time said the garbage disposal was on for “a long time” and “constant chopping sounds” were coming from the home, according to the newspaper. In court, a psychiatrist testified that Nelson put on red shoes, a red hat and red lipstick before spending hours chopping up her husband’s body. According to Pawloski, Nelson was the first defendant to used the “battered wife” defense in Orange County, claiming her husband raped her the night before she killed him. She also told psychiatrists and her attorney that she had been the victim of sexual abuse as a child in Egypt where she was molested, beaten and forced to undergo female circumcision, a mutilation of the female genitalia. Talk about a crazy broad!!! Source

‘X Factor’ Auditions Teased In New Promo

‘It’s more than just a voice. It’s something else,’ Simon Cowell says in the 8-minute promo. By James Dinh Contestant Rachel Crow appears on X-Factor Photo: Fox Promotion for the U.S. version of “X Factor” kicked into high gear on Sunday night when Fox aired a unusually lengthy eight-minute preview of their forthcoming talent competition. The preview gave viewers an early introduction to the judging panel’s insight and some potential audition favorites before the show’s splashing debut on September 21. After a montage introducing all of the panelists — Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, L.A. Reid and Nicole Scherzinger — the TV preview offered viewers a taste of the series’ upcoming auditions. First up was the enthusiastic 13-year-old Rachel Crow, whose bubbly personality shined as bright as her voice. Upon her arrival onstage, the curly-haired student showed no signs of cold feet for what she described as “the most important thing I’ve ever done in my life.” “My family has, like, no money,” the fresh-faced auditioner told Cowell. “And let me tell you, we live in a two-bedroom house, OK? And I have six people in my family, which is a lot of people. And I’m a girl. I need my own bathroom.” After her brief chitchat with the panel, Crow tapped her foot, swayed her hands and delivered a belting rendition of Duffy’s “Mercy.” As you may have guessed, Abdul exuded just as much energy as the big-voiced Crow when she smiled and bobbed her head to the chanting tune. And it wasn’t just Abdul who enjoyed the audition, but also fellow judge L.A. Reid. “You have everything that every artist I’ve ever signed has: feisty, sassy, soulful. You got it all, baby. I love you,” he told her. Cameras soon panned to the backstage reactions from the young girl’s family, who joined together for a group hug. Crow looked in almost disbelief as she questioned her mom about the audition. “Mom, did you see that?” she asked. “X Factor” was also quick to showcase the show’s much-promoted no-age-limit rule when they moved on to the next contestant, 42-year-old single mother Stacy. The youthful-looking singer tearfully recalled the story of meeting someone who disregarded her big dreams, leaving her faith in shambles. “I don’t want to die with this music in me, Simon,” she candidly told the judge onstage, with the microphone clenched with both hands. Shots of the studio audience, who waited to hear whether or not Stacy could deliver, flashed when she began her cover of Aretha Franklin’s “(You Make Me Feel Like a) Natural Woman.” Just a few lines into the tune, Stacy was met with an overwhelming audience cheer and stunned reactions from the judges. “Let me tell you something, Stacy. I’ve done this a long, long time. That was one of the best auditions I have ever heard in my life. Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. I love you,” Cowell gushed. “X Factor” fans were met with even more eye (and ear) appeasing clips when the preview concluded with a dramatic montage and news of a two-night premiere, which airs September 21 and 22. We can also expect some high-profile guests during the show’s premiere season. Rihanna has signed up to guest-judge on an as-yet-undetermined date, according to TMZ . By Rob Markman Lloyd Banks and Sway on “RapFix Live” in November 2010 Photo: MTV News What a year! From the ascent of Wiz Khalifa to the rise of Rick Ross’ Maybach Music empire; from Lil Wayne’s 2010 prison release to T.I.’s latest incarceration; from the tragic death of Nate Dogg to the murder of M-Bone; not to mention the release of the highly anticipated Watch the Throne and Tha Carter IV, “RapFix Live” has been the number one source of all things hip-hop. Lloyd Banks , Maino , Trina and the Outlawz will join host Sway in taking a look back at the past year in hip-hop. In this special celebratory broadcast, “RapFix” will also relive the show’s greatest moments. Who could forget when Rick Ross graced the “RFL” couch for the very first time, or when Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose professed their love for each other in front of our cameras? After announcing their reunion, the Diplomats appeared on “RapFix Live” in January — but without Juelz Santana. While the Dipset, covering for their boy, told us Elz had suffered an allergic reaction, we later learned that the Harlem spitter had his studio raided by police. Santana stopped by himself in June to set the record straight. Cam’ron and crew weren’t the only rap supergroup to stop by “RFL,” though. Before releasing their Bad Meets Evil EP, Royce Da 5’9″ and Eminem invited Sway out to Detroit for a special sit-down. Fans also tuned in, in record numbers, when Consequence swung through the MTV Newsroom and aired out his grievances with onetime label boss and friend Kanye West . Yes, there have been some memorable moments on “RapFix Live” and a wide range of guests, including Lil’ Kim, Nicki Minaj, Game, Diddy, Busta Rhymes, Ja Rule and J. Cole. But the exclusive interviews aren’t the only thing that fans tune in to see on “RapFix Live.” At the end of every broadcast, the show’s guest isn’t allowed to leave until he or she kicks a freestyle rhyme. Pusha T, Fat Joe, Beanie Sigel, Nicki, Reek Da Villain and Fabolous have all blessed the show with their bars. The ridiculous rhymes and the standout moments — we’re celebrating it all on Wednesday’s one-year anniversary show!
