Michael Jackson: Too Weak to Perform For Years?

As we reported earlier, Dr. Conrad Murray is likely to argue at trial on involuntary manslaughter charges that Michael Jackson killed himself . Now, in addition to MJ accidentally delivering his own coup de grace in the form of a lethal Propofol dose, comes a second component to the theory. Jackson’s weakened state during various tours throughout life – including the 2009 London concerts that never took place – will be a focal point. THIS WAS IT : Jackson never made it on tour in 2009 . There’s “compelling evidence” MJ was in poor health whenever he went on tour, sources say, dating back to his Bad and Dangerous albums decades ago. Jackson was frequently “dehydrated, medicated, and sleep-deprived” and like with Dr. Conrad Murray , had a doctor who accompanied him on the road. The gist is that grueling concert schedules took a huge toll, leaving him prone to and demanding drugs to sleep, long before Murray was in the picture. The “This Is It” London tour was especially grueling, because AEG added dozens of concert dates for Michael, who was weaker than ever by last year. Not only that, the perfectionist was terrified he would fail to live up to expectations and pushed himself even harder to overcompensate for that fear. This dovetails into the defense theory that MJ was over-medicated and reduced to a shell of his former self after years spent under enormous pressure. By the time last spring rolled around, he couldn’t sleep he relied on Propofol to do the trick, and became increasingly frustrated when it did not work. The defense believes that when Dr. Murray walked out of the room June 25 and Jackson woke up, he accidentally infused himself with the fatal dose. What do you think? Is there any chance that’s true? Is that enough for reasonable doubt, or should Murray pay the price regardless? Here’s a clip of Michael rehearsing for a performance of “Human Nature” on his ill-fated tour. Does he look a bit wobbly or weak to anyone else? Michael Jackson Tour Rehearsal

Dr. Conrad Murray’s Defense: Michael Jackson Killed Himself

Prosecutors in the Michael Jackson manslaughter case alluded to the defense Dr. Conrad Murray is likely to use in court – that the singer killed himself. Not on purpose of course, but according to the legal team of the physician on trial for his death, Jackson killed himself with a fatal dose of Propofol. L.A. County Deputy D.A. David Walgren says it’s “clear the defense is operating under the theory that the victim, Michael Jackson, killed himself.” REASONABLE DOUBT? Is Murray’s theory enough to beat the rap? Murray claims he left Michael’s bedroom the day he died (June 25, 2009) to go to the bathroom. MJ awoke and, in a moment of frustration, injected a massive dose of the anesthetic Murray was administering to treat his insomnia. Walgren said of the Dr. Conrad Murray and his lawyers in court, “They don’t want to say it, but that’s the direction in which they are going.” In fact, they don’t want to say anything . At the preliminary hearing, the defense plans on staying silent and letting the D.A. reveal its hand. The defense believes there’s no way this is not going to trial, and as such, will wait to see the prosecution outline its case before it decides how to proceed, using both the above theory and claims that other doctors over-medicated Michael .

Michael Jackson Doctor To Claim Singer Killed Himself

Prosecutor thinks Dr. Conrad Murray’s lawyers will say Jackson self-administered lethal dose of propofol. By Gil Kaufman Michael Jackson Photo: Sony/ AEG More than 19 months after Michael Jackson’s shocking death at the age of 50, the only person charged in the case, the singer’s former personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray, is due in court next week. And, according to a Reuters report, Murray’s lawyers plan to defend Murray against a charge of involuntary manslaughter by claiming that the pop icon killed himself when he self-administered a large dose of propofol, a surgical anesthetic Jackson used as a sleep aid to combat chronic insomnia. Murray has pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of involuntary manslaughter and has admitted to giving Jackson propofol. Murray’s lawyers have said the physician did not administer any drugs that “should have” caused Jackson’s death. The investigation into his death was lengthy, lasting more than eight months, after which Los Angeles prosecutors charged that Murray gave the King of Pop a lethal combination of propofol and other painkillers and sedatives in the hours before the singer was found dead in his rented Los Angeles mansion on June 25, 2009. Murray faces up to four years in prison if convicted. Reuters reported that in a Wednesday court session to discuss evidence in the case against Murray, Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney David Walgren said he thinks that the doctor’s attorneys appear to be preparing a defense claiming that Jackson self-administered the lethal dose while Murray was out of the room. Murray’s attorney would not respond to questions about Walgren’s statements. Murray’s trial is slated to begin on January 4 with a preliminary hearing that will determine if there is enough evidence to proceed to a full trial. Prosecutors and defense attorneys said they expect the preliminary hearing to take around two weeks. Related Photos Michael Jackson: A Life In Photos Related Artists Michael Jackson
