Nicki Minaj is a talented rapper, but selling sex is a big part of her career, as well (see Nicki’s fake wardrobe malfunction at the VMAs for evidence). So no one was really surprised when the the video for Nicki’s song “Anaconda” was basically just an ass-shaking fest with a Drake lap dance thrown in for good measure. Sadly, instead of owning the moment and admitting that – like Kim Kardashian and J-Lo before her – she rode her prominent backside all the way to the a-list, Nicki is pretending that she just doesn’t see what all the fuss is about: “I think the video was so sexy or crazy,” Nicki said when asked about the video’s single-day YouTube record. “I didn’t expect that. I didn’t even expect the picture getting the controversy it got. For the video to break a record, I was like ‘What?'” We have a hard time believing that Nicki didn’t think the video would cause a stir. We have an even harder time believing that she doesn’t think the clip is sexy.
