Kendra Wilkinson: Divorce Means I’m All Alone on Christmas. MEH!

In October of this year, Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett finally divorced . It’s really, truly over. Now, some of the realities of that are just sinking in — as Kendra experienced her first Christmas as a divorced mother. In a heartfelt message to fans, she reveals the real emotional pitfalls of sharing your kids on a major holiday. “This early morning we woke up, opened up presents, and rode around on our new bikes for an hour,” Kendra’s Instagram post begins. “I never thought I’d ever hear the words “this is more fun than Fortnite” but I did,” she writes, adding: “LOL.” Fortnite is a battle royale style game, made by Epic Games, that is extremely popular with younger kids. Though it’s great to see children enjoying themselves and engaging with peers, Kendra probably appreciated hearing the white lie that bike-riding is more fun. “I gotta be real though…” Kendra says. “After this bike ride,” she reveals. “I had to give my babies up.” Kendra refers to sending her kids to their dad’s house now that she and Hank are divorced. “This is the first year I’m literally alone..” Kendra laments. At least, she reveals, she was alone “’til @iamjessicahall just invited me over.” “I just want to say how beautiful your pictures are with your families on Christmas,” Kendra writes on Instagram. Kendra is known for a lot of social media engagement with her fans. Kendra affirms: “I feel warm and happy for all of you who are lucky to have what you do.” “My day is going in waves,” Kendra explains. “Being my first year separated.” Of course! “I have music/movies on, enjoying myself and then [it] hits me,” she reveals. That is very normal for anyone grappling with a new reality. But Kendra says that she is “doing a lot better than I predicted.” Having sudden moments of sadness is a lot better than being a weepy mess like you’re on a commercial for a mood stabilizer. “And,” Kendra says. “Friends reaching out makes me smile.” Sometimes, you want to be alone to process your emotions and to just experience your life. Other times, you welcome a distraction and emotional support from loved ones. Kendra needs that right now. “But,” she admits, it is “hard adjusting to new after years of what I believed was perfection.” Absolutely. From death to divorce, the first “different” holiday can really drive home how much your life has been transformed. “Definitely not looking for sympathy,” Kendra clarifies. “Just telling my story.” Just because other people have it worse doesn’t mean that Kendra doesn’t deserve sympathy, folks. “Sure divorced peeps can relate lol,” she suggests. She is totally right. “Anyways,” Kendra concludes. “Off to @iamjessicahall house.” Good for her for doing her best to enjoy the holiday. Some divorced parents are, quite frankly, not as lucky as Kendra. Sometimes a mom who has primary custody doesn’t see her children for weeks around Christmas or other key holidays. This of course leaves one parent as the parent who reminds children to do their homework, while another is the “fun” parent they see on holidays. It’s great to see that she and Hank were able to work it out so that they could both see their kids, even on big days like Christmas. Dividing time may not be fun, but it certainly beats the alternative. We imagine that little Hank and Alijah didn’t mind it. Though it’s not always true when there’s a divorce, some kids really do get twice the presents — or close enough — when their parents split. it’s always good to look for a silver lining. Cardi B Allegedly Turned Down Super Bowl Performance Because The Bag Was Light?

View post:

Source: Gladys Vega / Getty The upcoming Super Bowl and its beleaguered halftime show set with Maroon 5 continues to take hits according to news reports. Cardi B was slated to join the performance but turned it down, allegedly because she wanted a large fee to do so. Page Six reports : The Bronx breakout star, who features on Maroon 5’s recent No. 1 hit “Girls Like You,” has been repeatedly invited to join the band during its halftime performance on Feb. 3. However, a source close to the negotiations said, “Cardi B is standing tough and holding out. She doesn’t want to do it unless they roll out the red carpet for her.” The source claimed that the diva rapper had demanded a staggering fee of up to $1 million, plus a solo spot in the epic halftime show to make it worth her while. Artists are not paid for the halftime show, but are given a “gift in kind” by the NFL to cover expenses such as production, transport and wardrobe. The outlet adds that Cardi B might also be pushing back in doing the performance to show support for Colin Kaepernick. — Photo: Getty

LeBron James Compares NFL Owners To Slave Masters, Gets Flack For Sharing 21 Savage Lyrics

Source: Apega/WENN.com / WENN LeBron James is pretty much Teflon when it comes to controversies off the court, but a pair of recent instances have put him in the crosshairs of critics chomping at the bit. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar slammed NFL owners in a recent episode of his HBO show The Shop, and the sharing of a questionable 21 Savage lyric had him later apologizing for the act. Deadline reports : Speaking with business partner Maverick Carter Friday on his HBO Sports series The Shop, with guest stars Todd Gurley of the Los Angeles Rams and rapper/actor Ice Cube, the Los Angeles Lakers forward called NFL owners “old white men” who, he said, acted like slave masters. “In the NFL they got a bunch of old white men owning teams and they got that slave mentality,” James said in the conversation. “And it’s like, ‘This is my team. You do what the f— I tell y’all to do. Or we get rid of y’all.’” James then said it was the players who made the league, not the league making the players. “The players are who make the ship go,” James said. “Every Sunday, without Todd Gurley and without Odell Beckham Jr., without those players, those guys, there is no football. And it’s the same in the NBA.” Sports Business writer Darren Rovell shared a tweet out of LeBron James rapping the lyrics of 21 Savage’s “ASMR” track, which prompted a flurry of chatter criticizing James for doing so although there were some who didn’t think he was taking the anti-Semitism route. However, James told ESPN that he truly didn’t mean to offend anyone by sharing out the song. “Apologies, for sure, if I offended anyone,” James said to ESPN after his squad lost 107-99 to the Memphis Grizzlies. “That’s not why I chose to share that lyric. I always [post lyrics]. That’s what I do. I ride in my car, I listen to great music, and that was the byproduct of it. So I actually thought it was a compliment, and obviously, it wasn’t through the lens of a lot of people. My apologies. It definitely was not the intent, obviously, to hurt anybody.” Surprised LeBron, who makes very few mistakes, put this out. Does quoting lyrics from a song absolve the person quoting from the responsibility behind the words? I’d argue no, especially with a following of 45 million. pic.twitter.com/efv9gkXres — Darren Rovell (@darrenrovell) December 23, 2018 — Photo: WENN

‘LHHNYS9’ Recap: Kimbella And Yandy Deliver Christmas Eve Drama

View post:

Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty Christmas didn’t stop Love and Hip-Hop New York from giving us the weekly shenanigans we need. Last night’s episode picks up with a reminder that Cyn Santana’s and Joe Budden’s romantic getaway was not the fix they thought it would be. Joe has a problem with Cyn because he feels like he’s the only one who cleans around the house. Meanwhile, Cyn is kicking it with her sisters at the house (as Joe cleans) trying to get them to do her dirty work—no pun intended—by questioning Joe about when he plans to propose. Joe Budden says he will propose when he’s ready but wants Cyn to take some of her “wifely duties around the house seriously.” Cyn knows who he is so, whatevs. Let’s fast forward a bit. Kimbella and Juju link up for a kiki, and Juju once again tries to convince Kimbella to put her differences aside with Yandy since she’s about to be going through a similar situation. Kimbella is fronting like she doesn’t want to but we know she will. Later on, Mendeecees calls Yandy from prison to tell her that he spoke to Juelz Santana and doesn’t like the situation between Yandy and Kimbella and that they should talk. Yandy isn’t really into it but we know she’s going to try, begrudgingly, of course. MariahLynn is back, talking about how she’s serious about her career and committed to not acting like a wild cassowary for the sake of pursuing her dreams and all the mouths she has to feed (her mom, sisters, and nephew). She meets up with Cyn and Nya Lee where they all wax poetic about their grind and their goals. Cyn even says she’s back in the music game and she has been asking Joe to write her a song for over a year but it hasn’t come to fruition yet. However, he did encourage her to take vocal lessons, which she obliges. But then MariahLynn informs her that Joe posted a video online where he filmed all her junk and complained about her not cleaning up. Cyn wasn’t aware of this, but she is now. So, Cyn meets up with Joe later on for a nice meal and to call him out about making her look crazy. He tells her to get up and clean. She says she doesn’t have time due to the baby and then Joe brings up the fact that he has been asking her to get a nanny for a while because they need the help. Her response is, “Where am I supposed to find a nanny I can trust?” as if they don’t have money and resources enough to hire a professional. She basically gets defensive and he’s coming across as condescending which makes Cyn even more upset, and that’s that. Problem not solved. Where’s Dr. Jeff Gardere when you need him? Next, Safaree and Jaquae come face to face again at a showcase after MariahLynn performs, and manage to squash their situation. Then Nya Lee gets a moment to address a problem she has with DJ Self. She says Self never put her on to any of his platforms and that she looked up to him as a brother so how could he diss her like that. Meanwhile, Self is looking like: Because they’re not that close in his mind. Basically, Nya feels ignored and entitled. Self says she could have come to him in private since she felt they were “so close.” Nya gets mad then goes all the way in with the theatrics. She is trying to get that intro credit love next season! Jonathan’s father recently passed which made him all soft and pink and missing all his friends he fell out with. So, he texts Cyn, Yandy, Juju, and Kimbella to meet up with him. Juju is super confused given that they’re still not quite on good terms. This is about Jonathan trying to reconcile with people who he feels it’s worth saving the relationship since life is short and all that jazz. Kimbella hasn’t arrived by the time Jonathan starts talking about how he has been misusing anxiety pills by mixing them with alcohol and how that has affected his behavior negatively. He goes on to apologize for wilding out on them and expresses that he misses his friends. Juju says she’s ready to forgive and move and then Kimbella comes through. Jonathan apologizes to her too and goes over the spiel again. Kimbella is willing to forgive him while Yandy is just sitting there looking like something stinks the entire time. Once Kimbella and Jonathan get settled, Juju says it’s time for them to address the elephant in the room. Yandy gets all triggered and stank and replies, “Like the elephant can address it herself.” She pulls Kimbella to the side because she doesn’t want to do this in front of them even though they’ll be able to hear the conversation. They start talking at each other again about who did what and who is talking to who the rudest, etc. Eventually, Yandy brings it down a bit and actually tries to offer Kimbella support but Kimbella says she doesn’t want it and maintains that Yandy is fake. In Kimbella’s world, Yandy likes to be a social media friend, meaning that she’ll post pictures and captions on social about how she loves them and wishes them well but won’t actually be there. So, that’s that. They don’t move past anything and Kimbella sashes away with an attitude. They’ll probably be beating this horse again and again. Anyway, see you next week for Love and Hip-Hop Miami and in two weeks for the return of Love and Hip-Hop New York .
