Source: Kevin Winter / Getty Lil Wayne fans have been waiting years for Tha Carter V to drop, and he finally gave them all what they’ve been wanting on Thursday night. As promised, Weezy released C5 on the night of his birthday, which pretty much added to the anticipation of the already highly anticipated album. If fans weren’t thirsty for it before, they were dehydrated earlier this week when Wayne added fuel to the fire and teased the album release date in an impromptu video he put out. Thank goodness he delivered; and the 23-track body of work has everyone and their mama talking about Wayne like it’s 2008. Die hard Weezy fans are just hype to get new music from their GOAT: if Carter V is trash we not admitting to it. idc. — Levi (@CountyBoySavage) September 27, 2018 Everyone else is just glad the wait is over, for sanity’s sake”. One young lady even tweeted , “I’m glad Carter V finally dropped so y’all can quit begging” C5 has been out for less than twelve hours and some folks all already calling it one of Weezy’s best: “Carter V is Everything!!! Don’t ever say Wayne ain’t the Best!!” – @1Goal1Dream “I’m finding it hard to pick a favorite on the Carter V. I swear everything is so goooood” .- @dee_sackey “Yall can say Carter V ain’t hittin if you want to be we all know the truth so cut it out” – @Slim_theGoat While others are on the fence: “After one listen I liked maybe 3 songs on that Carter V. I’ll have to run it back again and see if that improves but I doubt it.” – @LukeJamesBGN “I think people are hyped Tha Carter V finally dropped & it’s clouding their judgement ” – @893CP “Listened to the Carter V.. wasn’t moved” – @32assist “3 songs in and tha carter V is already trash… lil Wayne will never be the same smh” – @mpuggzz So many things have held up the release of C5 over the years that it seems like some folks are just love that it’s out, and don’t love the actual music itself. First, Wayne had to fight and makeup with Birdman over money discrepancies. He once tweeted about C5 being shelved indefinitely, writing, “I am a prisoner and so is my creativity.” Then he had beef with Young Thug who went on to name his album Barter 6 – a play on Wayne’s “Tha Carter” discography. And Weezy was battling health issues , regarding his seizures and multiple stints in the hospital. But fortunately for him — and us — that Wayne train hasn’t stopped and he’s getting some of his flowers while he’s still here. Fresh off the release of his special album, Weezy will also be honored at this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards. Out on her own, Dinah Jane ‘s been keeping busy with her new single “Bottled Up” with Marc E. Bassey and Ty Dolla $ign but Young Jas of The Madd Hatta Morning Show puts her on the spot. Has Dinah Jane ghosted someone before?! On bottling things up: “I have moments! I feel like everyone goes through things that are hard to confess to someone because they don’t want to step on toes? I don’t want to hurt them so I bottle up things that bug me. I let them slide, keep letting them slide. But towards the end when you get fed up, you just explode! And I have a bad habit of doing that.” On ghosting: “I don’t ALWAYS ghost! I don’t always ghost just because I’m afraid of hurting their feelings. What’s better than walking away without saying something? It depends on the situation. There’s are some folks I’ve never ghosted before in public. But I’m just trying to avoid wasting time! What’s best is just walking away sometimes because some they’ll talk you out of it.” Join Our Text Club To Get The Latest Music, Entertainment, Contests And Breaking News On Your Phone

Source: Photo by L. Cohen/WireImage / Getty On August 27, 2003, history was made when Kelis released a national anthem for anyone with goods to show off. “Milkshake” hit the airwaves as the lead single from Kelis’ third studio album Tasty and it soon took off for its suggestive lyrics and catchy hook. The music video also lived up to the hype with Kelis showing her sexy side along with some very pro-dairy waiters. When Kelis was asked what the song means by The Guardian back in 2004, she replied, “It means whatever people want it to; it was just a word we came up with on a whim, but then the song took on a life of its own.” Kelis definitely wasn’t over-exaggerating. With the help of the music video, “Milkshake” peaked at number three on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, according to Billboard , and it was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Urban/Alternative Performance in 2004. Even the people of Ireland were “warming it up” when the song shot to number one on the country’s chart. Now with #NationalChocolateMilkDay making waves on Twitter, I thought it would be a good time to celebrate all the delicious moves “Milkshake” helped inspire. Before “twerking” became a household word or “cakes” were getting “smashed to smithereens,” there were milkshakes bringing plenty of people to the yard and till this day, the legacy lives on. Choreographer Kaelynn “KK” Harris made sure all her team’s goods were on deck when they threw down to various remixes of “Milkshake” in a sexy video… Even fitness channels, like Hip Shake Fitness, were bringing the taste of Kelis to their routines…for better or for worse. And if you’re wondering if the song works well for the pole, dancer Meggan Marie and her ladies seem to make it work… The international community also continues to show the song love with places like the Nataraja Academy in South Korea putting their own spin to the seductive song. Peep Gangdrea ‘s choreography in the clip below…. When Kelis was asked about the song 14 years later by delish in 2017, she replied that she’s into different things now. “People really think I’m at home making milkshakes all day,” she said. “Let’s be real — that doesn’t happen.” She continued, “I’ve got kids. I’m making smoothies for them and trying to sneak in healthy things that they’ll eat.” Despite the change of priorities for the mother, the song will continue to live on for every dairy lover and milkshaker of the future. Thank you Kelis. Your contributions won’t be forgotten.

Source: Soul Brother / Hennessy / Soul Brother / Hennessy A few months have passed since Pusha T released his critically acclaimed album DAYTONA . Throughout the month of August, King Push was on the road for his Daytona Tour , which featured some help from other G.O.O.D. Music names Sheck Wes and Valee serving as the openers. Though some fans were disappointed that he didn’t get to hit every city on the first leg of his tour, Pusha T has just announced the answer to everyones prayers: The Daytona Tour Part 2 . The VA legend will be coming to a city near you this fall on the second installment of his tour. The rapper excitedly announced the dates on Instagram on Wednesday, also revealing that Phony Ppl will be supporting him as the tour openers for the rapper’s non-festival dates. Pusha’s tour kicks off in Chicago on November 3rd before concluding in New York on November 25th. He’s also set to appear in the Windy City at the G.O.O.D. Music heavy Red Bull Music Festival along with a performance at Camp Flog Gnaw in Los Angeles. Beside the excitement over the announcement of the tour itself, many die-hards were head-over-heels to find out that Phony Ppl would be joining Pusha T for the 13-city ride. The group posted the news to their Instagram page and generated some awesome reactions, mostly consisting of people being over-the-moon that a bigger artist like King Push is bringing along local legends with him across the country. Phony Ppl has been a favorite among New Yorkers (and people with good taste all around the globe) for a long time now, even getting a lot of attention from Tyler, The Creator over the years. Back in 2015, he tweeted the band directly thanking them for songs off of their project including, “Somehow,” “Someday,” “Lover,” and “Helga.” He also included them on a list of favorite songs with greats like Donald Glover and Alicia Keys . @PhonyPpl THANK YOU FOR SOMEHOW AND SOMEDAY AND LOVER AND HELGA — Tyler, The Creator (@tylerthecreator) April 13, 2015 ” @lovinjaybieber : @fucktyler fave song rn that ain't your own?” SOBER BY DONALD, KNOW MY NAME BY ALICIA, SOMEHOW BY PHONY PPL — Tyler, The Creator (@tylerthecreator) April 17, 2015 The Odd Future frontman is such a big fan of the band, he even included them in the lineup for his Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival in Los Angeles in 2016. Phony Ppl’s recently announced upcoming project mō’zā-ik is available for pre-order now, and is set for official release on October 19. You can catch the 5-man collective playing tracks old and new while opening up for Pusha T starting in November.
