Source: Bennett Raglin / Getty Actor Geoffrey Owens, best known for his role on The Cosby Show , made headlines this weekend after photos of him working at a local Trader Joe’s store went viral. The photos were initially released to shame the beloved actor for his modest living, but his fellow thespians and new aged artists came to his side to remind the social media world there’s no shame in a man making an honest living. Working actors and musicians especially emphasized with the former TV show star and showed their love by making Owens their #LaborDay hero. Tami Roman defended Owens in her latest #BonnetChronicles video and called out FOX News for their negative intentions when sharing the story. Vanessa Hudgens is bringing it…High School Musical girl got some titties on…and I am a fan, possibly because I’ve seen her leaked nudes back in 2007, before it was a thing, back when you had to beg girls to get naked, before they were just posting that shit on Reddit Gone Wild all day…then again in 2011…making her an innovator, which is pretty much the opposite of what these pop culture icons are meant to be..candy coated vapid dog shit created by a billion dollar brand…who have no souls…but who I guess like being naked on camera because they can’t be naked in their Disney Contracts… Her tits look bigger than they used to be, I guess that happens, and I guess bikini social media content is as lovely as it has always been, even if social media rapes our souls, like they were execs at Disney putting together their plan for High School Musical… JOIN THE NEWSLETTER YOU ASSHOLES! Rita Ora is killing it these days. She is now my favorite pop star and I have yet to hear one of her songs. She knows how to move me in ways that her music I’m sure would never be able to do. And for that reason, I refuse to listen to her sing because I don’t want to be turned off. I like our relationship just the way she is.

Source: JEFF KOWALSKY / Getty L egendary singer Gladys Knight either has pancreatic cancer or she’s completely healthy, depending on who you ask. It was widely reported Friday afternoon that during the funeral for Aretha Franklin , Knight revealed she had been stricken with pancreatic cancer — the same ailment the Queen of Soul died from earlier this month. However, a couple of hours after the reports from reputable news outlets like Ebony and the Detroit News, Knight’s publicist insisted the singer was just fine. “She’s healthy,” Javier Delgado told the Detroit Free Press. “Someone must have misinterpreted. During an interview with local television station WDIV-TV outside of the funeral, Knight seemed sure of her self when she said of Franklin , “We shared the fact that we had the same disease.” Knight’s health had never been a public concern until Friday. Prior to Franklin’s funeral, Knight had been seen at the U.S. Open tennis tournament in New York City just this week. People magazine published a story in February about how “ageless” the 74-year-old looked, dismissing rumors that the singer may have had plastic surgery. If Knight was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer , it would be sad but not surprising. Cancer has been proven to be more deadly for Black people, with that fact being resoundingly true for pancreatic cancer patients, statistics have shown since around 1970, when pancreatic cancer trends began reversing themselves along racial lines. “In white men, pancreatic cancer death rates decreased by 0.7% per year from 1970 to 1995 and then increased by 0.4% per year through 2009,” according to research published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute . “In contrast, the rates among blacks increased between 1970 and the late 1980s (women) or early 1990s (men).” The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine took it a step further and found through clinical research that the “incidence of pancreatic cancer is 50 – 90% higher in African Americans than in any other racial group in the United States. Not only is pancreatic cancer more common among African Americans, but African Americans also have the poorest prognosis of any racial group because they often are diagnosed with advanced, and therefore, inoperable cancer.” SEE ALSO: Aretha Franklin Funeral Quotes: Sharpton, Holder, Obama Pay Tribute Watch Aretha Franklin’s Tribute Concert [ione_media_gallery src=”https://newsone.com” id=”3824414″ overlay=”true”]

Aretha Franklin has officially been laid to rest, but the Internet can’t stop talking about her funeral and the memorable Black church moments that came out of it. 1. Ariana Grande’s Little Black Dress Source: ANGELA WEISS / Getty Someone should have told Ariana Grande about the Black church before letting her walk up in Aretha Franklin’s funeral in this leg-bearing black dress. Not a prayer cloth was in sight to shield Ariana Grande from the stares of Bill Clinton and Jesse Jackson, who perked up as soon as the pop star walked on stage. 2. How Long It Was… Black folk shouldn’t be surprised that Aretha Franklin’s home going service took us into 2019, after all it was a religious Black occasion, which mean there were probably multiple tithe collections and someone in the last pew yelling “Take your time.” 3.
