EXCLUSIVE: Designer Behind Cynthia Bailey’s Engagement Gown Is Bringing Resort Wear Glam To Women Of All Sizes

Source: Stephen J. Cohen / Getty When I interviewed Cynthia Bailey at the Radio One Raleigh Women’s Empowerment event in April, I asked her about her boyfriend Mike Hill and she blushed a little before gushing how they were just with each other the day before in LA. Her face lit up, this was undoubtedly a woman in love. A Real Housewives of Atlanta fan from Season One, I knew that Bailey was not the type to rush into marriage (or even really desire it); nevertheless, Mike Hill was undoubtedly about to change her mind. On stage I asked if she would ever marry Hill and she blushed and replied yes to the entire crowd oohing and ahhing. It’s such a fun piece and I loved the sleeves, my dresses are petty long and flowy and it takes a confident woman to pull it off. She looked incredible.” Naturally, I went on the website to try and score this dress, only to discover it’s sold out and no longer on site. Beauties, never fear, Sankoh shared that it will be re-stocked in September. Source: http://www.saisankoh.com / Courtesy of Sai Sankoh From parousing the website, you see beautiful African-inspired pieces and Sankoh revealed, “All my prints are custom made and most of my pieces are made in India.” When you go on the website, each piece has a description of the type of woman that’s waring it. The above is called the Maldives Goddess Kaftan ($295.00, saisankoh.com ) and describes the woman buying the piece as “a traveler who spends six months out of the year visiting foreign destinations.” Sankoh stated, “I wanted to relate to every woman: the boss lady, the full time mother that needs a vacation, the single lady that wants to have a memorable night out in Miami. When my customers read the stories they always send me feedback, like, ‘Hey, I’m a doctor and I have been so busy and I needed this vacation, and this is totally about me.” It’s the beautiful detailing in the pieces and touches like this that make this brand special. Inclusivity within the brand doesn’t just stop at what type of woman you are; Sankoh makes sure that women of all sizes can shop as well, going up to a 3XL in certain styles. Sankoh explained, “I am naturally a curvy woman, meaning I have a butt, and I love to accentuate it. All that is required to wear my pieces is confidence, and I saw a big demand for curvy women wanting glamorous travel wear, and I needed to fulfill that.” The kaftans are truly one size fit all and look great on an array of body shapes and sizes. I’m so here for glamour resort wear and diverting from the typical looks that everyone else is shopping. Custom prints mean that you will have unique looks. While Cynthia’s dress is currently sold out, here are five of my favorite pieces from the site to shop. Let me know which ones are your favorite!

Kim Kardashian & More Celebs Have Millions of Fake Followers: Report

Source: Alex Wong / Getty If you have been using Instagram or Twitter for years, you are well aware of the fake followers. A new report is now detailing just how bad it really is, and there are big celebrities who have a lot of them. The report from ICMP highlighted the ridiculous amount of fake followers celebrities have on the social media platform. The investigation was broken down into categories about what each star does. Ellen DeGeneres topped the showbiz category with most fake followers listed at 58%. Following her is the mega-popular K-pop band BTS with 48%, Kourtney Kardashian and Taylor Swift both at 49% and Ariana Grande’s 46%. Other notable names on the list include both Kim and Khloe Kardashian who also have a lot of fake Instagram followers listed at 44%. Seasonless twerker and habitual culture vulture Miley Cyrus clocks in at  45%. Mr. “I like my chips with the dip,” Drake appeared in the report with 38%. As far as sports stars are concerned, Soccer’s most prominent names in the game top the list. Toni Kroos of Real Madrid topped the report overall with a whopping 57% of fake followers following him. His teammates Isco Alarcon Suarez (54%) and Luka Modric (50%) are right behind him. Going through the full report, it shows in great detail no celebrity is safe from picking up fake followers. Even Beyoncé is on the list with 31%, but as long as she is not in the top right? Anyway, we just hope no one this list is actually purchasing these fake followers, that would be the ultimate sin. Quavo To Exec Produce Cartoon Series Based on Atlanta’s Hip-Hop Scene

Original post:

Source: Way Out West Festival Sweden – Day 1 – Performances Featuring: Migos, Quavo Where: Gothenburg, Sweden When: 10 Aug 2017 Credit: Emelie Andersson/WENN.com  Hip-Hop has come a long way from the days when rappers making cameos in big time Hollywood movies and TV shows were considered a huge deal for the culture. Nowadays not only are rappers doing their thing on the silver screen and on the tube, but they’re also getting in on the animation game. Just a few months after Vince Staples’ Adult Swim project Lazor Wulf was announced, the Migos’ Quavo  broke the news that he and Imagine Entertainment’s co-founder Brian Grazer are working together on an animation project inspired by Atlanta’s Hip-Hop scene. According to Complex the ATLien and Grazer are set to executive-produce a “transformative franchise” but unlike the mature content found in Staples’ Lazor Wulf , Quavo’s vision is being crafted to accommodate the children of the culture. “I have long seen how hip-hop as well as our music (Migos) really impacts kids,” Quavo said in a press release Thursday announcing the new animated franchise series aimed at kids ages 8-12. “I’ve loved animation my whole life whether on TV or in movies and I wanted my first jump into this premium content world to be a show just for kids. It will definitely reflect the creativity, love, and families in and around the NAWF side of Atlanta where we grew up.” The series will draw from the Atlanta hip-hop scene and marks a partnership between Imagine’s Marginal Mediaworks, Imagine Kids+Family, Quality Control Music, and Motown. Quality Control’s Pierre “Pee” Thomas and Kevin “Coach K” Lee will produce alongside Dan Altmann and Capitol Music Group’s Brian Nolan and Ryan Allingham. Sounds like Quavo and company are about to fill a space needed for the kids who don’t have many cartoons to choose from that they can relate to. Coach K said as much when sharing his thoughts on the upcoming project. “When I was growing up there was very little media that had brown and black skinned kids feeling heard or seen and the ones that did stood out and served as a crucial roadmap through our childhoods,” he said. “I’m about inclusive stories that address all kinds of situations that kids of ALL ethnic and financial backgrounds experience and to give them a common tool to learn and grow.” No word yet on when the series will premier but expect some original music and merchandise to accompany it’s release when the time comes.

Amy Roloff: Did She Just Get Super NSFW About Chris Marek?

THG readers know that we love Amy Roloff . We adore her social media, her books, her food, and her smile that lights up a room. We’ve also followed Amy’s romance with Chris Marek closely, which makes her recent NSFW caption so much more entertaining. In an otherwise innocuous post about pizza, Amy shared a little TMI. Take a look: “Afternoon delight,” Amy’s captions for this black-and-white photo begin, followed by music note emojis. She writes that she is “taking a rare moment in the middle of the day just to hang out.” Amy took the snap “at one of my favorite places downtown Hillsboro @pizzario, w/ Chris.” They were there to eat “and talk, appreciate each other and the day. It was wonderful!” Amy is “all about making moments [together].” As you can imagine, a number of fans raised their eyebrows at “afternoon delight.” If you’re not aware, the term is a widely used euphamism for sex in the middle of the day. When one fan asked, Amy replied: “now now … that didn’t happen.” “It’s in a song,” Amy acknowledged. “But can’t remember all the words.” Literally no part of the lyrics is at all subtle about the subject matter. The song’s about boning. “Anyway,” Amy continued in he reply. “That didn’t happen.’” Just a couple of weeks ago, Amy shared a brunch photo of her with Chris — with a much less suggestive caption. “Sunday brunch with Chris,” Amy announced on Instagram. She admitted: “I was bummed my offer on a house got rejected.” “I was thankful Chris was with me,” Amy expressed. “And the comfort he gave to just quietly help me to let it go.” “And,” she continued. “Tell me there’s going to be another house I can make a home.” Amy may have been feeling down, but she knows her coping strategies. “One way for me to get out of a rut is to cook,” Amy shared. “So,” her caption continued. “We had a nice quiet wonderful Sunday having brunch,” Amy truly enjoyed Chris and “a cup of coffee, and just being together.” “Thanks babe,” she concluded. “Life is still good.” Amy has gotten a lot of grief — even from her own fans — for her relationship with Chris Marek. Some fans were “convinced” that he was just out to scam Amy out of her reality TV money. Others insisted that he “must” be after fame. Some of these fans were just attached to Amy and Matt as a couple and were having trouble letting go. But others clearly had some disturbing ideas about little people — and somehow believed that a man of average height couldn’t genuinely love Amy. Fortunately, those people were way, way off. These days, when fans bother Amy about her romance, it takes a very different tone. Namely, fans want to see her get hitched to Chris and they want to know when he’s going to pop the question. Amy has suggested that she is open to getting married, but doesn’t want to rush into it. She takes marriage very seriously and wants to get married for life — when the time is right. In the mean time, she’ll just stick to “afternoon delight.” View Slideshow: Little People, Big World Fans Shower Amy Roloff with Support Amid Mother’s Health Crisis

Wesley Snipes, Leslie Jones, Rick Ross & More Cast In ‘Coming To America 2’

Last month at the annual San Diego Comic Con Marvel threw the culture for a loop when they announced that Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali would be replacing Wesley Snipes as the vampire hunting superhero Blade . While fans of Wesley’s were disappointed with the news (there were rumors Snipes and Marvel were working together to revive the franchise in the future), they’ll be glad to know that Passenger 57 just hitched a ride onto Eddie Murphy’s upcoming Coming To America 2 . Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Wesley Snipes has been cast to star alongside Eddie Murphy in the long overdue sequel to the 80’s comedy classic, but he’s not alone. Joining the expanding crew will be SNL fan favorite comedian Leslie Jones, Kiki Layne, and the bawse himself Rick Ross. No word yet on what role Ross will be playing, but he’s reportedly shooting some scenes at his playboy mansion in ATL. Aside from the new names mentioned, Coming to America 2 will see some familiar faces return as James Earl Jones and Arsenio Hall are set to reprise their original roles. According to the report the sequel revolves around a Prince Akeem (Eddie Murphy) who’s ready to take the reigns of King of Zamunda when he learns he has a son living in Queens. At the request of his father (James Earl Jones), Eddie returns to America to search for his long-lost seed. Wait, did Akeem have a one-nighter with someone before marrying Lisa McDowell? Did she leave him to return to Queens and not tell him she was pregnant? There’s a few possibilities but we’ll have to wait to find out. As for Wesley’s role in the film, it seems like we’ll be introduced to another part of Africa that we never knew existed. Snipes will play a new character named General Izzi, who rules a neighboring country to Zamunda, homeland of Murphy’s Prince Akeem. Layne will play Akeem’s daughter, and Leslie Jones’ role is being kept under wraps. James Earl Jones, of course, will reprise his role as Akeem’s father, King Jaffe Joffer, with Bates as royal servant Oha. December 18, 2020 can’t get here fast enough.

Veteran Stone-Faced Actor Danny Trejo Saves Baby Trapped In Car #DannyTrejo

Source: Sheri Determan/WENN.com / WENN Danny Trejo has enjoyed a long career in Hollywood playing a variety of tough guys and villains, but the general consensus surrounding the stone-faced actor is that he’s one of the nicest guys in the world. The 75-year-old Trejo proved how big his heart was by rescuing a baby from an overturned vehicle in Los Angeles on Wednesday (Aug. 7). ABC7.com reports : Trejo happened to be in the area when two cars collided Wednesday afternoon in the area of Hubbard Street and Jackman Avenue. One of the vehicles overturned onto its roof and a young child was trapped inside, strapped into a car seat. Trejo and another bystander helped rescue the child. Trejo crawled into the overturned wreckage from one side, he recalled, but he couldn’t unbuckle the child’s car seat from that angle. The other bystander, a young woman, crawled in from the other side of the overturned vehicle and was able to undo the buckle. Trejo was then able to get the baby out of the car seat and pulled safely from the wreckage. While that was happening, the boy’s grandmother remained trapped in the driver’s seat. Firefighters had to use equipment to free her. Powerful stuff. And believe it when we say that we needed some good news this week. Even better, Trejo remained humble after the boy was delivered to his family, and left a powerful message to the ABC7 viewers as to why he believes in performing acts of kindness. Vince Staples Signs To Motown, New Music Out Soon

Source: PYMCA / Getty Besides a back and forth Twitter spat with Azealia Banks , Vince Staples has been relatively quiet. However, it’s been announced that the Long Beach rapper is now signed to Motown Records, and he’s dropping new music soon. For most of his career, the “Norf Nor” rapper was signed to Def Jam via Blacksmith Recordings. Billboard reports that at Capitol Music Group’s annual meeting it was revealed that Blacksmith Recordings (owned by artist manager Corey Smyth) has moved over to the Capitol Music Group and Motown Records. “Today, more than ever, artists are evolving their professional identities in multi-faceted ways,” said Smyth in a statement. “My mission through Blacksmith Recordings is to nurture young and new talent from the ground up and enable them to expand their vision of success. We are looking at the big picture, thinking about how a musician evolves across genres, what success looks like in the first year and a decade later and what happens after the first album, the second and the third. Our goal is to reinforce career longevity and boundless potential in the artists we represent, while growing global brands around them.” Besides Staples, other acts on Blacksmith include Kilo Kish, Ted When and Benn Good. Smith reportedly is prepping to drop new music in the fourth quarter. Staples’ last album, FM! , dropped in late 2018.
