Source: 20th Century Fox / 20th Century Fox While the world awaits the arrival of Captain Marvel and the conclusion to The Avengers in End Game , there is another comic book film franchise that once dominated the summer called X-Men and it seems like people have forgotten that they have one more sequel dropping this summer as well. Though fan interest in the franchise dropped off a cliff after the abomination that was 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse , this summer’s Dark Phoenix is looking to recapture comic book fanboys interest in the franchise. From the looks of the latest trailer, that might be a tall order. While the first trailer did little to nothing to build a buzz for the latest installment in the X-Men franchise, the second trailer features Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) discovering her destructive powers which puts the fear of God in her enemies and even X-Men family. With Smith (Jessica Chastain) encouraging her transformation, Jean not only finds herself struggling to contain her newfound powers but also fears for the safety of her X-fam. As she should. From there on she unleashes her power on government soldiers and her own mutant brethren including Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) who seems to have had her ticket punched by the all-powerful Phoenix. While this latest iteration of the classic Dark Phoenix Saga seems more interesting than the trainwreck that was 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand , it does lack the biggest component that made Brett Ratner’s last X film bearable: Wolverine. Seriously, any film without Logan isn’t really an X-Men film, it’s just a movie about mutants trying to save the world. Still though this will be 20th Century Fox’s last X-Men film before Marvel Studios takes over the franchise (thank God!!) and they might as well go out with a bang. Hopefully that’s exactly what they’ll do with Dark Phoenix. Check out the trailer below and let us know your expectations for this latest X-Men film.

While surveillance footage reportedly places him at the scene, where $80,000 in jewelry and cash was stolen from another rapper, Jay maintains that he is innocent. “I ain’t guilty. I ain’t do sh*t…I got accused of sh*t I ain’t do. I ain’t do sh*t. I didn’t do anything at all,” the rapper told TMZ , who was on the scene when he was taken into custody. In case you missed it, Blac Chyna’s ex was reportedly filming a video with another rapper, Skinnyfromthe9, when his crew allegedly ran off with a $40,000 chain, a $20,000 rolex, and tens of thousands of dollars in cash. “In surveillance footage of the incident, you see a couple men approach Skinny’s Range Rover which YBN was standing next to, and after a struggle … the men run away,” TMZ reports. “YBN admits it’s him in the video, but insists he had nothing to do with jacking the cash and jewelry.” See surveillance footage from the incident here . Cory Wharton is back with his ex-girlfriend Taylor Selfridge , but that’s not the only thing that has fans angry. Trolls have been viciously dad-shaming because he happened to be on vacation when little Ryder fell seriously ill. Now, Cory is hitting back at his detractors and explaining that he did everything that he could. Cory Wharton fired off a tweet after receiving unfair backlash. “Everybody is so quick to try paint me as a bad dad,” Cory laments. “It’s not fair at all.” “Ryder got sick while I was on vacation,” he writes. “And once it got worst I booked a flight home.” “At this point,” he admits. “I can’t care about everyone one else thinks I know what type of dad I am.” “I just want Ryder to get better,” he expresses. Precious baby Ryder was born with a congenital condition known as VLCAD. Because of this condition, Ryder’s body has difficulty breaking down certain types of fats. That may sound simple, akin to lactose intolerance, but it can be serious, and can manifest in various ways throughout someone’s life. In fact, one of the childhood symptoms of VLCAD is heart problems. Last week, Ryder was hospitalized due to complications from her condition. Cory could not have known this when he booked his vacation. Us Weekly spoke to Cory, who released a statement to elaborate upon the frustrations that he expressed in his tweet. “While I rarely respond to public criticism,” Cory begins. “I felt the need this time to speak up.” For the record, he responded to public criticism just last week when he unveiled his new girlfriend . He asked fans to let him live his life. Cory is speaking up this time “because these claims are simply ridiculous and an attack on my character.” “Anyone who has watched Teen Mom OG — and my social media — knows how involved I am,” he points out. Cory details that he is very involved “in my daughter’s life and in co-parenting with Cheyenne.” “Ryder is my life,” Cory affirms. “And I love her so much.” “And,” he continues, he “would never do anything that would have a negative impact on her.” “Anyone who thinks anything of the opposite is an idiot,” he accuses. “And clearly doesn’t know who I am at all.” “As soon as I got back from my vacation,” Cory explains. “I raced to the side of my daughter in the hospital.” “And,” he reveals, he “was there to take her home as well.” We don’t want to get psychoanalytical on you … but we will anyway. We don’t think that these dad-shaming fans who actually follow Cory at all are genuinely angry with him over this. They know that he rushed to be by Ryder’s side as soon as he could, cutting short his vacation. What they’re mad about is that he’s not by Cheyenne Floyd’s side. Both Cheyenne and Cory have made it very clear that they are co-parents but not a couple, and that they do not intend for that to change. Cheyenne also released a statement about her daughter’s health. “Thank you to everyone who prayed, reached out, & lifted Ryder up,” Cheyenne wrote on Instagram. “We are home & she is back to running in circles,” she shared. Several of the duchess’ A-list besties were in attendance, including Serena Williams and Amal Clooney. But one of Meg’s most high-profile gal pals was noticeably absent. And now, insiders are claiming it’s just the latest indication of a heated rivalry between Meghan and actress Priyanka Chopra. As you may recall, back in November, Chopra married Nick Jonas . In fact, for reasons that still aren’t entirely clear, the couple tied the knot several times, hosting lavish receptions for each ceremony. And as many pointed out, Meghan wasn’t present for any of them. No doubt, this came as a bit of a surprise to Chopra, who attended the Meghan and Prince Harry’s wedding back in May. Of course, that was the social event of the year, and each of Chopra’s weddings was simply a tour stop with a Jonas brother. We kid, obviously, and the fact is that Meghan had numerous good reasons for not attending any of Priyanka’s weddings, not the least of which is that she had a whole slate of royal obligations to attend to, all while pregnant. We’re sure all of this was conveyed to Chopra, but insiders say the actress was still devastated by Meghan’s absence. “Priyanka was crushed,” one insider tells Page Six Another informant says that Chopra feels Meghan has gotten too big for her britches and has forgotten that some of her friends are pretty big deals in their own right. “Their friendship is over unless Meghan apologizes,” says the source. “Priyanka is a huge international star with a tremendous social media following,” the insider adds. “She is probably more famous worldwide than Meghan is. She feels Meghan didn’t respect her and didn’t respect their friendship.” We’re not sure about all that, but Priyanka is a pretty big deal on the global scale. Predictably, a spokesperson for Chopra insists that there’s no bad blood between these icons. “There are no issues between the two women. They are friends, and anything you’re being told otherwise is inaccurate and untrue,” says the rep. The ladies themselves have not yet spoken on the matter. In fact, the last time that either of them spoke about the other was Priyanka gushed about Meghan in an interview last year. “She’s an icon, truly, that girls can look up to, that women can look up to,” Chopra said at the time. “She’s normal, she’s sweet, she’s nice.” Here’s hoping these two can get back to that energy sometime soon. Apparently crab legs are life, even when its in the middle of crawfish season. Two people in Huntsville, Alabama got into a fight over crab legs at a local restaurant, annoying diners and one police officer who just started eating when the fight broke out. “Literally, as I sat down and maybe took two bites out of my plate,” Huntsville police officer Gerald Johnson told WHNT . “There’s a woman who’s beating a man. People are moving around, plates are shattering everywhere,” Johnson added. No sooner than he sat down with his plate at the Meteor Buffet, a man and a woman were arguing over a space in line when the woman allegedly assaulted the man for disrespecting her. It’s alleged the two were fighting using the tongs you use to pick up your crab legs. “Everyone was saying, ‘They cut me in line. She cut me in line. He cut me in line. I was here first,’” Johnson said. The pair arrested, John Chapman and Chequita Jenkins had been waiting for crab legs for 10, 20 minutes. And due to the high demand, people were hot. Apparently not as boiling mad as Chapman and Jenkins were … with each other. Jenkins is charged with third-degree assault charges and Chapman is facing disorderly conduct for his role in the altercation. He suffered a cut to his head in the fight while Jenkins wasn’t hurt.
