A Manhattan Criminal Court judge told the Victoria’s Secret model today that her misdemeanor assault charges will be dismissed if she stays out of trouble for six months, serves three days of community service and goes to anger management for two days. She also has to pay $489.94 to compensate Vanessa Kia, the Connecticut car rental company clerk she was accused of slugging as they parried for a cab outside a nightclub. White turned heads as she strutted up and down the courtroom aisle-turned-runway, wearing high heels and a well-above-the-knees royal blue sundress. She’s been in the news in recent weeks for planning an anti-child abuse campaign with Russell Simmons and a skin-care line for women of color. “The injuries were not substantial and the complaining witness was amenable,” prosecutor Rene Jarusinsky said in agreeing to the eventual dismissal. Sounds like Jessica was workin’ the preferential treatment angle with her court attire, seems like it might have worked. The 20 Best-Paid Celebrities Under 30 made a combined $690 Million between May 2010 and May 2011. Number 20 on the list made $15 million in that time span. That’s more than half her age. The list is a nice mix of musicians, athletes and actors. You might be able to guess some of the names on this list, but the amount of dough their raking in is sure to make you reevaluate your life and career choices. This was Charlize Theron’s home with Stuart Townsend until they broke up last year after ten years… probably because he finally accepted that he would never be as rich, famous, or pretty as her. The two-story, 2100 sq. ft. Malibu home was originally listed in December for $7.5 million. They have now settled on the selling price of $6.562 million, which is still $3 million more than what Charlize and Stuart paid for the house back in ’03. The message of abuse always needs to be heard for those who may be suffering in silence If you remember, back in February we reported on Jessica’s revelation of the molestation she endured as a young child. Last weekend the super-model banger gave a speech about continuing to spread the word on abuse. Model Jessica White says she has “the blood of a warrior” and wants to fight on after a bombshell speech in which she revealed she was abused as a child. “I wanted the world to know,” White told us of her public admission, which reduced some to tears at her Angel Wings Foundation dinner at Georgica in East Hampton last weekend. “It just came out, and I realized, standing there, that I was healed.” White said she’s now hatching an online campaign to help victims of child abuse with Russell Simmons and Gabrielle Union, as well as organizing an Angel Wings gala in November. White also spoke out further on her dark childhood in People magazine. …Revealing her story for the first time, White explains that as a child in Buffalo, New York, she not only watched helplessly as her loved ones coped with abusive relationships, but, at 14, she was molested by a family member. “I had to go through the hurt secretly,” she says, adding that when she first came out about the ordeal, she was told that she should keep it private. “I look at modeling as a savior, because [it allowed me] to leave and travel to Paris and New York when I could finally relax and be out of the abusive environment.” Still, after moving out of her mother’s house at 17, the loneliness and pain caught up with White, who turned to cocaine as a way of dealing with her problems. About three years later, she overdosed. “I was going to lose everything,” she says of the time she saw her “whole life flash before me.” “But I was lucky, because I came face to face with evil, and it wasn’t something I liked seeing.” After taking off a few months to recuperate, White felt ready to repair the professional and personal relationships she’d damaged when she was using. Now, she says, she’s off drugs and considers her mother to be her best friend. “I truly am living out what true joy and happiness means,” she says. “I’m in the best place possible.” We’re glad that Jessica had the courage to tell her story and help heal herself as well as other young women who think they have to live with the mental burden that comes with sexual abuse. A band of fast-moving storms brought reports of more than one hundred possible tornadoes across the South on Saturday, toppling trees, snapping power lines and bringing the two-day death toll to 17. Emergency crews in Georgia, Mississippi and Alabama worked to assess the damage as the storm system moved north into the Carolinas and southern Virginia, according to the National Weather Service. Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley declared a state of emergency Friday after reports of tornado touchdowns in at least six counties. Three people were also killed in Autauga County after fallen trees crashed into mobile homes in the area, police said. Some of the death toll reads as follows: Three deaths in Washington County were reported, said Yasamie August, spokeswoman for the Alabama Emergency Management Agency. Two other deaths were previously reported in Oklahoma and seven in Arkansas. In Greene County, Mississippi, one death and six injuries were reported, officials said. And if that wasn’t bad enough… Rescue crews found a 34-year-old woman in bed with her 7-year-old, whom she had apparently come to comfort during the overnight storm, said Little Rock Fire Department Capt. Randy Davenport. The two were killed when a giant oak tree fell on the home, Davenport said. An 18-month-old child in another bedroom survived. Source
