Are you ready to do the Dew… immediately after waking up? PepsiCo Inc. announced today that it will soon come out with a beverage called Kickstart, a replacement for coffee that contains Mountain Dew flavor along with extra caffeine, juice and Vitamins B and C. Kickstart will hit shelves with such flavors as “energizing orange citrus” and “energizing fruit punch,” although the company is quick to say this is NOT an energy drink. It is not comprised of the mysterious ingredients that have landed Red Bull and Monster in a bit of trouble. John Sicher, publisher of the trade journal Beverage Digest, compares this Mountain Dew drink to Starbucks’ Refreshers and labels it an “interesting experiment.” But will it be a successful one? Kickstart will be available later this month and be served in 16-ounce cans.

Mystery lovers are in luck: a new Dan Brown novel will hit book shelves and e-readers around the country in May. The best-selling author announced his next Robert Langdon novel today, revealing that it will be titled “Inferno” and will be influenced by Dante’s classic by the same name. The Da Vinci Code scribe said “Inferno” will be set in Italy and will feature Langdon – portrayed on the big screen by Tom Hanks – drawn into “a harrowing world centered on one of history’s most enduring and mysterious literary masterpieces.” “Although I studied Dante’s Inferno as a student, it wasn’t until recently that I came to appreciate the enduring influence of Dante’s work on the modern world,” Brown said , adding: “With this new novel, I am excited to take readers on a journey deep into this mysterious realm…a landscape of codes, symbols, and more than a few secret passageways.” Both The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons have been made into movies, with The Lost Symbol currently in development.

She’s no stranger to creating an uproar on Twitter, having already gone off on homophobia and even dissed Jesus Christ (according to some). But Miley Cyrus’ latest diatribe on that social network has apparently gotten her into major trouble… with fiance Liam Hemsworth. The singer expressed some serious sadness on Twitter a couple weeks ago, causing folks to wonder if there were problems at home. And an insider tells Star Magazine that the mysterious, depressing words were a “huge insult to Liam.” “She tried to pass it off like it had nothing to do with him, but it totally affected him, no matter what she tries to say,” reads a report in the latest issue of this tabloid. It goes on to say: “She was trying to get his attention, but she just ended up making him pull away from her more. He thinks she’s acting like an immature schoolgirl, and he wants her to get off Twitter completely.” Harsh words, but for a private guy, can you really blame him?

Wednesday night (Aug. 8), Lady Gaga leaked the cover of Vogue’s renowned September issue, on which she appears dressed in an extravagant gown. The “Poker Face” singer posted the photo on her own social network site, Little Monsters, along with the message “SHH DONT TELL TWITTER/ SEPT ISSUE OF VOGUE MAGAZINE/ Sorry Anna but the underground kids deserve it. bisous!” Gaga has been alluding to the unveiling for a while, tweeting two days ago, “Don’t worry I’ve been txting Wintour all morning trying to get that cover queens. next im sending bagels to VOGUE (complex carbohydrate war).” She followed that with another tweet Wednesday morning announcing the delivery. “”AHHH! The Vogue Express dropped off the SEPTEMBER ISSUE yesterday morning. IM A COVER GIRL, and ITS FAB! Can’t wait to show u tonight!” Gaga being Gaga, she also had a few choice quotes in the interview, revealing fame hasn’t slowed her wild side. “I’m a complete free spirit, so, even though you don’t see it, I still find time to have sex at night on the beach when no one’s around,” she says in the magazine. “Or roll into a bar and get [bleeped] up, and dance with my top off. Tea Party Extremist Claims President Obama Was Once Married To A Man As the election nears, the “NoBama” bunch is going pretty hard with the smear tactics . This week, it’s the good ol Tea Party claiming that President Obama was once married to his college roommate……who was a man. Jerome Corsi, Tea Party activist and author, now asserts that president Obama is bisexual and was once married to man. Corsi, a birther, who authored The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality, claims he has compelling evidence that supports his theory that Obama was once married to his Pakistani roommate. Corsi does not indicate whether Obama was married to Imad Husain, Obama’s freshman roommate at Occidental, Mohammed Hasan, or Wahid Hamid, the two other Pakistani men who were once roommates of the president. Corsi has published photos of the president on 1776nation.com where, according to Corsi, it appears the president is wearing a wedding band. He also asserts that there was long-running joke among the president’s classmates at Harvard regarding the mysterious ring and why Obama wore it. Now this is just ridiculous.
