Another senseless crime involving kids. A student apparently comes to school with a loaded gun in Ohio and opens fire. At least 4 students were hit by gunfire with one critically injured. Official say they have the suspect in custody.  Check below for the report. “CHARDON, Ohio – Gunfire at a high school outside Cleveland injured a number of students Monday morning, and at least one suspect has been taken into custody, officials said. FBI agent Scott Wilson said that there was one suspected shooter, who is in custody. He said four students were wounded in the shooting but wouldn’t discuss the extent of the students’ injuries. The shooting was reported around 7:30 a.m. at the 1,100-student Chardon High School about 30 miles east of Cleveland, said Civil Deputy Erin Knife of the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office. CBS affiliate WOIO-TV in Cleveland reports the shootings happened in the cafeteria before classes started for the day. Television news footage showed anxious parents escorting children away from a school building, and ambulances could be seen outside. WOIO-TV reports the high school was evacuated and students were taken to an elementary school to be picked up by their parents. Students on school buses were dropped off back at their homes. A spokeswoman for Cleveland’s MetroHealth System said a medical helicopter was dispatched to the high school. Schools in the area were locked down. Bob Herp, a Chardon trauma nurse, was at a command scene at a local Wal-Mart store where he said helicopters were on the ground. Chardon is a city of about 5,100 residents”.

‘Man On A Ledge’: A Man, A Ledge And ‘So Much More’

Stars of the film talk to MTV News about the thriller surrounding ‘a desperate man in a desperate situation.’ By Kara Warner Sam Worthington and Jamie Bell in “Man on a Ledge” Photo: Summit Entertainment While some filmmakers go the mysterious or fanciful route with their titles, there are just as many who tell their prospective audiences exactly what they’re going to see. “Man on a Ledge,” which opened Friday (January 27), is about as literal a film title as you can get. When MTV News caught up with the cast recently, we asked them to explain the inherent intrigue in the title, as well as why the film has so much more going for it than just a man and a ledge. “[The film is about] a desperate man in a desperate situation,” star Sam Worthington said of his character and the man on a ledge himself, Nick Cassidy. “As the movie goes on, we get to see why he’s there and how’s he’s going to get out of it.” Worthington went on to say that “Man on a Ledge” takes a few cues from action films like “The Negotiator” and “Phone Booth.” “I like those movies. I’ve always said I like doing movies that I would go and see and this is in the same vein as those movies,” Worthington said. “It’s exciting, thrilling and interesting for the audience because they’ve got a lead character who they’re wondering, ‘What’s going to happen next?’ ” “The basic premise of the movie is that there is a man on a ledge, and the great thing is that there is so much more behind that basic premise,” added co-star Elizabeth Banks, who plays determined hostage negotiator Lydia Mercer. “Why is he there? What is he there for? What’s really happening? Those are all the questions that my character has and I get to sort of be the surrogate for the audience. “The whole time we’re watching the movie we’re learning more about what’s going on. I’m the truth-seeker of the movie, I’m really interested in understanding why he’s there in the first place,” she explained. “Sam’s character says to me at one point, ‘You need to listen, I’m prepared to die’ and what he’s really saying is ‘Even if I die, I need you to carry on and tell everyone what happened,’ and that’s the great mystery of the movie. The action that drives the movie is, ‘What the heck is going on here?’ ” Jamie Bell, who plays the man on the ledge’s younger brother, conceded that the title basically sells the film. “It’s quite literal,” he said. “I think that’s what throws people off,” offered Genesis Rodriguez, who plays the girlfriend of Bell’s character. “They’re like, ‘Oh, it’s a movie about a man on a ledge.’ It really isn’t. There’s more to it.’ You should check it out because you don’t know it all.” Are you planning on seeing “Man on a Ledge” this weekend? Leave your comment below! Gary Giordano, Robyn Gardner Murder Suspect, Released By Aruban Officials

Gary Giordano, the businessman who continues to be the prime suspect in the strange disappearance of Maryland woman Robyn Gardner in Aruba, has been released. The decision to cut Giordano loose came just hours after Gardner’s cousin said the family was “disappointed” by Aruban authorities’ fruitless effort to find her body. Gardner is presumed dead and Giordano is believed by many to be involved in her mysterious vanishing this summer. But proving it has been a different matter. “Needless to say, our family is very disappointed that after all this time, we are no closer to finding out what happened to Robyn,” Kelly Reed said in a statement . Gary Giordano, also of Maryland, had been in police custody for almost four months, and authorities insist that he’s lying about the fate of his traveling companion. He was freed after a judge ruled prosecutors didn’t have enough evidence to hold him there any longer. Giordano issued no comments as he departed the facility. Gardner, 35, met Giordano, 50, through an online dating site and the pair took a vacation to the Caribbean island on July 31. Soon after, things went horribly awry. Giordano reported Robyn Gardner missing just two days later. He said Gardner was pulled out to sea by a strong current as they snorkeled near the shore. Three days after her mysterious disappearance, Giordano was locked up as witnesses disputed his story, and after graphic photos were found on his camera. But the body of Robyn Gardner has yet to be discovered. “The case does not end here,” Aruba’s Solicitor General Taco Stein vowed. “Mr. Giordano will remain our prime suspect. We know he is lying; His story is not true.” Prosecutors said they will continue to build a case and will seek his extradition from the U.S. if an appeals court issues a reversal and orders him back behind bars.

The film is the sequel to Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D, the film that was ahead of the recent wave of 3D releases, and as such got away with some pretty shoddy effects. This sequel is loosely based on Jules Verne’s novel The Mysterious Island, and the original trailer highlighted a little bit of danger… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : /Film Discovery Date : 25/11/2011 18:43 Number of articles : 2
