Lady Gaga’s ‘Judas’ Lyrics Hit The Net

The alleged words to Gaga’s second Born This Way single find Mother Monster playing with themes of religion and love. By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga Photo: Tom Briglia/ WireImage Recently, “Born This Way” producer Fernando Garibay called Lady Gaga’s next single off her upcoming album of the same name, “Judas,” “great because it’s a serious message [and] it’s a little playful.” Well, judging by the reported lyrics that hit the Internet, the RedOne-produced track is Gaga spilling her heart out with just enough dark humor in it to keep her Little Monsters playing it over and over again. “Dear Judas/ My beloved you belong to me/ No more backstabbing please/ Your blood colored beads/ Jealousy, envy, insanity,” the opening lyrics proclaim, playing on the biblical tale of Judas — the apostle of Jesus who infamously later betrayed him — while possibly referring to a romance gone bad. On the chorus, Gaga allegedly sings, “When he comes to me, I am ready/ I’ll wash his feet with my hair if he needs/ Forgive him when his tongue lies through his brain/ Even after three times he betrays me/ I’ll bring him down, a king with no crown/ Judas, look what have you done/ My heart bleeds and you think it’s fun?” The second verse continues to play with the ideas of love and the mythology of Judas. “Second verse, same as the first/ Your bible won’t save you now/ From the glares of the everlasting light, remember those hot nights where you lied and lied on my bed/ Stabbed me in the back,” Gaga supposedly sings. “Let my blood trickle on your rose thorns/ But he came and whispered in my ear and left me torn/ ‘Cause I’m just a holy fool/ Oh baby, he’s so cruel, but I’m still in love with Judas, baby.” Gaga will direct the video for “Judas” with her creative director, Laurieann Gibson, who has made it clear that the clip will certainly be over-the-top. “And ‘Judas’ is exciting for me because we had this amazing artistic approach to ‘Born This Way’ and I’m so excited for how riveting, energetic and electric the record is, something really phenomenal,” Gibson recently told MTV News. “So, visually, the dance, the costuming, the idea of how big we’re trying to go, [it’s] going to be a roller-coaster ride. “What is a traditional music video?” she added. “Even if we go with a traditional music video, the directors that we love are not traditional, so the idea that they get to collaborate with us means they too want to live outside of what people expect a traditional music video to be.” What do you think of the reported lyrics to “Judas”? ‘Spider-Man’ Lead Actress To Depart Broadway Show

Natalie Mendoza leaving ‘Turn Off the Dark,’ New York Times reports. By Terri Schwartz Natalie Mendoza Photo: Bruce Glikas/ FilmMagic While one “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” actor is to Broadway’s most-expensive musical once he recovers from his injury, another is headed out the door. The New York Times reports Natalie Mendoza, the lead actress who after she was struck on the head with a rope, has been negotiating an exit agreement for days. Mendoza seemed to confirm her exit with the tweet, “Can feel a trip to India coming on & visiting my magic little orphanage Ramana’s Garden in Rishikesh. Raising funds as we speak. Be the change.” The Times learned of her departure from two people who work on the show and who spoke on the condition of anonymity. A spokesperson for “Turn Off the Dark” could not confirm to the paper that Mendoza is leaving, and a spokesperson for the actress declined to comment. The actress, best known for her role in “The Descent,” suffered a concussion November 28, and though she returned to the production three days later, she took another two weeks off after experiencing nausea and headaches. Mendoza played Arachne, the spider-villainess who becomes obsessed with Spider-Man. Director Julie Taymor created the character specifically for the mythology of the musical. The role required that the actress perform flying sequences while upside down, something she wasn’t able to handle after she was injured. Mendoza is expected to be replaced by her understudy, America Olivo. Mendoza wrote on her Facebook page Sunday that she was “almost back to normal” and had reduced her medicine intake to two nausea tablets and four painkillers a day. After a fourth accident December 20 sent stunt double and aerialist Christopher Tierney to the emergency room, the production instituted a series of new safety measures . Taymor released a statement saying, “Nothing is more important than the safety of our ‘Spider-Man’ family and we’ll continue to do everything in our power to protect the cast and crew.” Preview performances continue at the Foxwoods Theater in Times Square, and the musical’s official Broadway opening date is February 7. Check out everything we’ve got on “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.”

‘Tron Legacy’ Director Contemplates Sequel ‘Possibilities’

‘I would definitely consider going back,’ Joseph Kosinski says of possible third film. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Lightcycles in “Tron Legacy” Photo: Disney After “Tron: Legacy” was crowned box-office king with a $43.6 million haul on its opening weekend, naturally the “Tron” talk shifts toward the sequel question . There’s already a script in the works, so when MTV News had the chance to chat with one of the power players in the discussion — director Joseph Kosinski — we asked if he’s thought about a sequel. “Yeah, and I think we’ve created a world that has a lot of possibilities in it,” he said. “It was important to me that we created those connections back to the original film. If audiences are interested in this movie and decide they want to go back, and we can find the right story and a way to push the envelope again, I would definitely consider going back.” In addition to bringing back stars Garret Hedlund and Olivia Wilde , one character that seemed as though he could have a part in the continuation of the story is the briefly appearing Edward Dillinger (played by Cillian Murphy), a rising star at ENCOM, the ominous tech company at the center of “Tron” mythos. “I’m a big fan of his,” Kosinski said when asked how Murphy joined the project. “I’d been talking to him about a way to get involved in the movie from the beginning, and this opportunity came up, so I asked him to be a part of it and he was excited to do it,” Kosinski explained. “So I’m thrilled to have him in there.” Wilde echoed Kosinski’s sentiments regarding Murphy’s brief performance. “Cillian Murphy — we were so lucky to have in this film,” Wilde said. “His part in ‘Tron Legacy’ is so mysterious and cool. His role really fits into the mythology of ‘Tron,’ the corrupt environment of ENCOM. It just shows you that this fight is far from over.” Wilde has also said that she’d be game for another “Tron” movie, particularly exploring how her character, Quorra, would adapt to the human world. “I’m so thrilled to play with Quorra in the human world. It would be sort of like ‘Splash,’ ” she said, referring to the ’80s comedy starring Daryl Hannah as a mermaid unleashed in Manhattan. “I want to see her whispering to laptops and hugging toasters. … There’s a whole other chapter ahead.” Do you want to see a sequel to “Tron: Legacy?” Do you want to see more of Cillian Murphy’s character? ‘Tron Legacy’ Star Olivia Wilde Talks Sequel Plans

Actress who plays Quorra hints Cillian Murphy’s character will return. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund in “Tron Legacy” Photo: Disney We’ve long known that Disney has been positioning “Tron Legacy” as the first installment in a revamped take on the dude-gets-sucked-into-a-computer concept the studio pioneered in the early 1980s. Back in April, eight months before the new film was set to hit theaters, news broke that a script for another film already was in the works. ” ‘Legacy’ definitely ends in a way that there are opportunities to continue the story,” producer Justin Springer told MTV News at the time. Now that “Legacy” has hit the multiplex and the public at large has gotten a chance to see the fresh take on “Tron,” the question becomes: Where will the story go from here? We recently asked Olivia Wilde, who plays the digital creature Quorra. Beware of major spoilers below! As we find out at the end of the film, Quorra departs the computer world and materializes as a human being in the real world for the very first time. Wilde told us that if a sequel kicks into gear, fans should expect the story to mine her fish-out-of-mainframe tale. … There’s a whole other chapter ahead.” Fans should also stay tuned for further development of Cillian Murphy’s character. Murphy plays Edward Dillinger, a rising star at ENCOM, the tech company at the center of the franchise’s mythology, and the son of one of the first film’s key villains. Murphy shows up in just one scene in “Legacy,” but his role is likely to expand in the future. “Cillian Murphy we were so lucky to have in this film. His part in ‘Tron Legacy’ is so mysterious and cool,” Wilde said. “His role really fits into the mythology of ‘Tron,’ the corrupt environment of ENCOM. It just shows you that this fight is far from over.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Tron Legacy.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . ‘Breaking Dawn’ Screenwriter Says Split Gives Films ‘Room To Breathe’

‘There’s a little more room to really expand and explore some of the mythology,’ Melissa Rosenberg says of final two ‘Twilight’ movies. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Melissa Rosenberg Photo: MTV News While “Twilight” screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg is working on the “Breaking Dawn” scripts, she said the one hitch is trying to figure out where to break the book into two parts — but it’s a welcome challenge. “We’re still fudging around with that, not quite sure, but there’s a natural area in which to break it,” she told MTV News about her work on films, expected to start shooting later this year. “The first half is really about Bella as a human and a newlywed and then pregnant, and the second half is about her as a vampire and a parent, so somewhere in that transition is where the break is.” No matter what ends up happening in the films, Rosenberg is sure she will have plenty of room to do everything she and the fans want for the films. “What’s nice about having it be two films is that there’s room to breathe,” she said. “If it were to be one, it would so much condensing that I’d have to be leaving story lines by the roadside. “Here, there’s a little more room to really expand and explore some of the mythology,” she continued. “And we began that in ‘Eclipse,’ to be able to get into the invention of Riley’s backstory and the creation of Riley and some of the other characters. In ‘Breaking Dawn,’ there’s even more room to do that, and I’m having fun with that.” Rosenberg recently said she was unsure if she’d want to show Bella’s infamous birth scene onscreen in “Breaking Dawn,” explaining: “You know, you can do childbirth without seeing childbirth. … It doesn’t mean it’s any less evocative of an experience.” Where do you think Rosenberg should split “Breaking Dawn”? There is a role-playing component as players are encouraged to finish “island missions” and get medallions. Poptropica was developed by the Family Education Network, a division of Pearson, which also owns kids’ site FunBrain.com. Poptropica has an Alexa Internet rating of 2,166. Its official launch date was in September 2007. It now has over 75 million registered users and about 35 million of these are in the 15-25 age group. When players first arrive at Poptropica, they are given a character avatar they can either customize immediately, or modify while playing. Such modifications include changing hair color, clothes, hair style, and skin color. On May 30, 2009, Poptropica began selling “Poptropica credits” online. The credits are used to “buy” costumes that cannot be costumized and special abililties such as the ability to change the player’s character’s hair or skin color quickly. Credits can also be earned through the completion of different islands. Once a player enters Poptropica, he chooses an island to explore; as noted before, each island has a central mission. To travel between islands, the user boards a blimp with the Poptropica logo, which shuttles between the Main Streets of the various islands. Early Poptropica was the first island created for Poptropica. 24 Carrot Island is the fourth island released on Poptropica. The Poptropicans on 24 Carrot Island are in trouble. Someone has stolen all their carrots, citizens are disappearing, and the economy, which appears to be based on carrots, is in ruins. Super Power Island is the fifth Island released for Poptropica. A giant radioactive meteor has crashed into Super Power Island’s county prison, freeing six criminals and giving them super powers. Now they are wreaking havoc on the island, committing various crimes. The player must defeat five villains using wits alone, and earn the power to fly (only on Super Power Island). The final villain, Betty Jetty, can only be defeated by flying after her. The island was opened on July 26, 2008. Spy Island is the sixth island released for Poptropica. In this plot, a new threat to the residents of Poptropica has been discovered by Poptropica’s top three spies, but the spies have been captured by an evil group called B.A.D. The island was opened on September 10, 2008. Choose Your Own Adventure: Nabooti Island was the seventh island released on Poptropica. This island was made in conjunction with the publishers of Choose Your Own Adventure books. The Nabooti tribe is looking for five missing jewels from the mysterious Nabooti totem. The player flies to various locales across Africa to find the jewels and return them. The island was opened on December 10, 2008. Reality TV Island is the eleventh island released on Poptropica and is based on the hit reality TV show Survivor. The player has to compete in challenges against seven other (game-operated) characters, to avoid being “voted off” the island. The island was released to Poptropica monthly members on February 24, 2010 and was open to the public on March 24, 2010.
