Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner Honor Son Lost to Miscarriage, One Year Later

One year ago, Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner had a tragic miscarriage  four months into the pregnancy. The Married At First Sight stars grieved and mourn and shared their loss with the world. Now it’s a year later, and while they are excited to be expecting again , they haven’t forgotten their son who would have been, Johnathan. We see a photo of the two of them standing by Johnathan’s memorial tree in their backyard, but it’s the heartfelt caption that really hits home for fans of the family and for those who understand their loss. In an emotional message, punctuated by emojis, Jamie Otis took to Instagram to share how she and her husband are feeling, one year later. “A year ago from today was our last full day pregnant with our first born son.” Calendar dates can be wonderful for birthdays and anniversaries; for remembering a loss, they can be cruel. “Johnathan was delivered on July 13th, 2016 at just 17 weeks, 1 day. He was way too little to survive outside the womb.” That must have been agonizing in ways that most of us cannot even imagine. Though we have seen Jamie and Doug in that hospital photo , seeing and feeling are different things. “I remember feeling so helpless – there was nothing I could do to help my baby.” That’s every parent’s nightmare. “I swore to myself, to my hubby, to God, to my baby boy, and to ANYONE who would listen that I’d never let him just be forgotten.” She’s really keeping that promise. She also talks about coping mechanisms, which are important to have and also important to share with others who might need them. “I blogged a lot to help cope with the loneliness; to numb the pain.” No matter how loving and supportive a spouse and family might be, a miscarriage hits home in ways that most people can’t understand or provide comfort for. “I will forever be thankful & I’ll never forget the countless Frans – and even strangers – who reached out to me to offer love & support.” “Frans,” as in fans who are friends or like friends. It’s cute. And then she talks about the memorial. “…I planned ways to honor our angel baby’s short, sweet life.” There are a lot of ways to do that. “One of the ways I wanted to remember him was by planting a tree for him & watching it grow.” That will only grow more meaningful as the years go by. “Now that we finally have our own home and our own backyard we can plant that tree. We researched and found a tree that blossoms all summer long.” That’s absolutely beautiful. She then invited fans and followers to join her in keeping her son’s memory alive, last night but also always. Everybody grieves and mourns in their own way. We’re sure that part of Jamie looks forward to the day that the hardest thing that she has to do is confront body-shamers . It’s not for us — or anyone — to say if someone’s grieving too little or too much. (Besides, you don’t know what’s going on internally) But in Jamie’s case, it looks like she’s found a good balance and a healthy way to cope and to move forward with her life. And such a sweet, tasteful way to immortalize her son’s memory. View Slideshow: 27 Stars Who Have Suffered a Miscarriage

Chance The Rapper Apologizes To Dr. Dre For Disrespecting Aftermath Records

Chance The Rapper Apologizes To Dr. Dre If you’ve been fortunate enough to hit up Chance the Rapper’s ‘Be Encouraged’ tour , you’ve probably seen him perform “No Problems” during the show. While he does so, Chance projects “label” logos behind him, with a twist. Now that his tour is wrapped up , Chance has begun to feel like one such projection was a misstep. While playing on the “Aftermath Records” Imprint, Chance projected “Cant Do Math Records” on the screen. Now he’s apologizing to Dr. Dre for crapping on his legacy. Chance took to Twitter to express his remorse over the decision: I want to formally apologize to Dr Dre, and all of Aftermath for publicly disrespecting their hard work and contributions to music. — Lil Chano From 79th (@chancetherapper) June 22, 2017 When I went on the Be Encouraged tour I made LED content to satirize and degrade major labels. — Lil Chano From 79th (@chancetherapper) June 22, 2017 I made the mistake of including Imprints which not only dulled my overall point of trying to uplift artist… — Lil Chano From 79th (@chancetherapper) June 22, 2017 But also singled out artist-owned ventures that have only worked to progress the culture — Lil Chano From 79th (@chancetherapper) June 22, 2017 Dre is a premier example of creating space for wealth and ownership in an industry designed for creatives to be the foot soldiers — Lil Chano From 79th (@chancetherapper) June 22, 2017 His work with Beats, Compton Schools and artist like Kendrick, Game, Eminem, .Paak, 50 NWA and others is unmatched and how i inspire to be — Lil Chano From 79th (@chancetherapper) June 22, 2017 I set out to empower and I completely missed the ball and I know that now, — Lil Chano From 79th (@chancetherapper) June 22, 2017 once again Sorry to Dre, all the artists/producers at Aftermath and all the other folk trying to make a difference in music that I belittled — Lil Chano From 79th (@chancetherapper) June 22, 2017 Well good for Chance. Although this smells a bit like he received a disgruntled phone call from Dre’s camp… Splash/WENN/Getty

Katy Perry Livestream of the Day

One of the things I liked about the early internet, which I don’t really like now, was the ability to live broadcast from your house. There was that weird dot com dude who set up that weird alternative TV channel pre-youtube – where he had a bunch of random weirdos live in a building with him in San Francisco, then there was someone I think was named DannyGirl or something like that, where they were the first in exhibitionism…something thats become more than just a trend…it’s everywhere and everyone is doing it… Well, Katy Perry, being a famewhore decided to set up some sort of livestream to promote something I assume is an album, where I guess she was live for 24 hours or longer..and all I really got from the whole thing is that she’s boring, dumpy and the worst thing to watch for 24 hours, even when it’s designed as a marketing stunt… These are some of the screenshots, I didn’t watch the actual campaign – but I am sure it was awful…and a desecration of all things wonderful in exhibitionism… You see, I may hate all these vapid attention seeking cunts, but I still want to install cameras in the bedrooms and bathrooms of every slut I talk to…so…this is an artform I appreciate as a Voyeur, just not when it’s turned G Rated, Disney, consumerism, buy product, nonsense… I guess we live in a world of cam girls, and other attention seekers, we don’t need these over marketed and produced idiots raining on all that is pure is being on camera all day from your bedroom. Katy Perry is garbage…This is some bullshit.. The post Katy Perry Livestream of the Day appeared first on DrunkenStepfather .

Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost: Dating!

The 42nd season of Saturday Night Live came to an end this week, and for the first time in quite a long time, the show will be widely missed during its summer hiatus. Of course, that’s almost entirely due to Alec Baldwin’s Trump impression and Melissa McCarthy’s Sean Spicer, as the show’s non-political sketches remained wildly uneven. (We’re sure to incur the wrath of the entire Internet for saying this, but when David S. Pumpkins provided the season’s most quotable bit, you know you didn’t exactly knock it out of the park.) But as is usually the case with SNL, there were just enough highlights to keep us tuning in week after week: Kate McKinnon remains as sharp as ever. Leslie Jones’ mock romance with Kyle Mooney was a running gag that never wore out its welcome. And of course, Colin Jost and Michael Che’s Weekend Update provided some of television’s most genuinely LOL-worthy takes on the apocalyptic three-ring circus that is the Trump administration. And it seems one of this season’s most high-profile hosts was duly impressed by the incisive commentary and easy raport of the segment’s dual anchors: As you may have heard, Scarlett Johannson is newly single following her divorce from Romain Dauriac . Or perhaps we should say she was newly single, as Radar Online reports that ScarJo has been smitten with Jost ever since she hosted SNL earlier this season. The site reports that when Johansson stopped by the show to briefly reprise her role as Ivanka Trump she and Jost were inseparable throughout much of the night. “ScarJo hung out in Colin’s dressing room all show [on Saturday],” an insider close to the show tells Radar. “They went to the after party together.” The source says Jost and Johansson made no effort to hide the fact that they’re romantically involved. “It wasn’t like they showed up separately and met for the first time,” the insider added. “She was after him and all over him. He was star struck.” Interestingly, it seems Johansson was the one who pursued Jost: “She’s the one pushing for it,” says the source. “They met when she hosted the show months ago and have been talking ever since.” Another source close to the show confirmed the rumors to Page Six: “Scarlett and Colin were making out at the bar at the ‘SNL’ season finale party at 30 Rock … They would make out a bit, then go back to talking,” says the source.  There you have it, kids. Start working on your Mike Pence jabs and your self-deprecating smirk and you too can have a chance with the most beautiful women in Hollywood.

Lesley Murphy: Bachelor Alum Shares Topless Photo Days After Mastectomy

We know Lesley Murphy best as a contestant on season 17 of The Bachelor — she fought for Sean Lowe’s heart , and she came in fifth place. Or at least, that was how we knew her. These days, she’s doing work that’s a little more important than reality show love. Last month, Lesley revealed that she carried a gene that put her at high risk for breast cancer and ovarian cancer and, as a preventative measure, she’d be getting a double mastectomy . She explained that her mother battled breast cancer, and so she felt it was best to “take care of it right now” with the surgery. And so last week, she had both of her breasts removed. She’s been documenting her recovery on her Instagram page, and it’s really just amazing to see. The first day after her surgery, she wrote that the whole thing was “hard to wrap my head around,” and after seeing her chest, she described it as “It looks like I was in a bear fight and lost. Badly.” But, she added, “The human body is truly amazing, though, and I will heal soon enough.” The second day after her surgery, she was able to go home, but with a little apron that held four tubes attached to her chest to drain fluids. Poor Lesley wrote that “Walking and breathing still doesn’t come easy,” but she looks pretty tough to us. And then on Sunday, she shared another update — along with a topless photo of herself, taken just five days after her mastectomy. “My Sunday best,” she captioned the picture, “or what I could manage to put on today with limited arm movements.” “My mom washed and dried my hair today. She dresses me in the mornings. She also measures my drains twice daily which are the tubes you see coming out of my lovely red apron I never take off,” she continued. “She’s the freaking best. She slept in my hospital room and bed at home for the first few nights, helping me in and out of bed and giving me meds at horrid hours to control the pain.” “I have to sleep on my back in the exact same position every night,” she described. “Sometimes when I make the wrong movements it feels like my chest is detaching from my body, but all in all, I think my upper half is healing nicely!” “Sure, it’s sunken in and lumpy because what you see are deflated expanders that were put in which will gradually get filled every 2-3 weeks as I get ready for reconstructive surgery.” “Hopefully by then the permanent marker will be off my body.” Lesley wrote that she feels “lucky” because “my surgeons only made one vertical incision on the lower half of both breasts will saving skin and nipple.” “So while all breast tissue is (hopefully) gone,” she concluded, “I retained some of the old me! Happy Sunday. God is good.” In her latest update, which she wrote yesterday, she wrote that she had two of her four tubes removed, and the other two would be removed next week. “As always,” she added, “I love you guys. I read every heartfelt comment and truly feel the love of this incredible support system.” “Together we are creating so much awareness for early detection, screenings, gene mutations and how to work with the options we have. Thank you, thank you, thank you.” And thank you, Lesley! Because seriously, what an inspiration. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Beat Cancer

Little Girl Steals Pope’s Hat, Hearts of Everyone on the Internet

We've said it before and now we can say it again: Pope Francise for ALL the wins! The beloved gay rights supporter stepped out to meet fans St. Peter's Square in Rome on Wednesday, stopping at one point to say hello to a man and a young girl. The little girl was named Estella Westrick, she was three years old, she was in attendance with her godfather… and she stole The Pope's hat upon meeting him! She gave it back quickly, we should note, but not before the surrounding crowd let out a loud and awkward laugh. Would The Pope be angry? Would the man get in trouble? Would the toddler get kicked out of the area? HA! Of course not! This is Pope Francis! He took the incident in awesome stride! “Right before she went up she was a little nervous. Then she stole his hat. It was hilarious. Everyone was laughing, including the Pope,” Mountain Butorac told CNN, adding: “It's her first full day in Rome. Who knows what she will get up to tomorrow?” Hopefully something equally hilarious and viral! Watch the hilarious clip now!

Joni Sledge Dies; Veteran Singer Was 60 Years Old

Joni Sledge, a founding member of the popular R&B group Sister Sledge, was found dead Friday in her home in Phoenix, Arizona, according to publicist Biff Warren. She was 60 years old. The cause of death is unknown at this time, but Warren told CNN that Sledge was not sick at the time of her passing. The news came as a shocking tragedy to those close to her. “Yesterday, numbness fell upon our family. We are saddened to inform you that our dear sister, mother, aunt, niece and cousin, Joni passed away yesterday,” reads a statement on the band’s Facebook page. It adds: “Please pray for us as we weep for this loss. We do know that she is now eternally with Our Lord.” Along with siblings Debbie, Kim and Kathy, Joni formed the Sister Sledge in 1971. The group was based out of Philadelphia, yet struggled for years before finding success. The group is likely best remembered for the 1979 dance anthem “We Are Family,” along with such hits as “He’s the Greatest Dancer” and “My Guy.” Speaking to The Guardian last year, Joni said the following of the group’s early years: “The four of us had been in the music business for eight years and we were frustrated. We were saying: ‘Well, maybe we should go to college and just become lawyers or something other than music, because it really is tough.'” But the popularity of “We Are Family,” considered to be a female empowerment track that preached unity, changed everything. The song was nominated for a Grammy and the album on which one could listen to it sold more than one million copies. It peaked at number-two on the Hot 100 and topped the R&B and disco charts. At one point, years later, Kathy left the group for a solo career, but the trio of sisters continued to play concerts and record, including a performance for Pope Francis in 2015. They last took the stage together in October and were scheduled to perform a show on March 18; a series of European performances was also on tap. Joni Sledge is survived by an adult son, her sisters and other family members. May she rest in peace.
