Jessica Simpson Post-Baby Body: REVEALED! HOT!

After much hype, Jessica Simpson revealed her post-pregnancy body today, and damn, girlfriend shed like 40 pounds, while retaining some intense curve action. The 32-year-old appeared on the premiere of Katie Couric’s talk show today, saying that losing pregnancy weight has been a “lot of pressure” and a “challenge.” “All the weight did not come off with the baby,” the booty-ful one said. No, it has not yet, but … wow. Nicely done so far, Jess. Nicely done. “During pregnancy, I just didn’t think about it,” she said of her weight gain. “I thought my doctors were telling me that it was just a lot of water and whenever my water broke my whole entire stomach would go down but that did not happen.” When we saw Jessica Simpson nude in Elle this April, she weighed 170 pounds. Baby girl Maxwell Drew Johnson arrived in May. She’s lost 40 pounds since. Earlier this year, the 5’4″ Simpson signed a deal worth millions to become celebrity face of Weight Watchers. She’s 10 pounds away from her goal weight. “I basically take her with me, whether it’s strapping her on me or strolling around the neighborhood,” she said. “My new goal is 14,000 steps a day.”

Michael Mendez, Alleged Gang Member, Accused of Locking Girlfriend in Room For Up to 10 Years

Alleged gang thug Michael Mendez is being held by police in Paterson, N.J., after a drug search in his apartment uncovered a shocking discovery: A 44-year old woman. She was kept padlocked in a room by her boyfriend for long periods of time – perhaps as long as a decade – according to law enforcement officials. The woman was discovered by members of the state police investigating Michael Mendez, believed to be a member of the Latin Kings street gang. State police spokesman Sgt. 1st Class Brian Polite said based on interviews and evidence, investigators believe she was held there for 2-10 years. Investigators said the woman was sometimes let out when her boyfriend was home and Mendez, 42, was a familiar face around the neighborhood. A neighbor said he has known Mendez for a dozen years now and that he could often be seen outside, polishing a car and listening to music. The neighbor, who would not give his name due to safety concerns, said he saw the woman a few times in recent years, though it was rare. Neighbors on either side of Mendez’s top-floor, brick-building apartment said they weren’t aware that another person lived in the apartment. Mendez, who police say is a member of the Latin Kings, was being held Monday at Passaic County Jail. Authorities didn’t know if he had an attorney. No one answered when a reporter knocked on his apartment door Monday. Mendez was charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment and other counts related to the drugs officials said they were looking for in the first place. State police said they found 4,200 prescription pills valued at $100,000, 190 grams of marijuana valued at nearly $2,000 and nearly $23,000 in cash.

For Discussion: If George Zimmerman Were Black Would He Be Given The “Hero” Platform To Raise Money And Fight His Case In The Media??

Very interesting question… Journalist Allison Samuels Asks “What If George Zimmerman Was Black Making his first television network appearance last night on Fox News, a perfectly coifed George Zimmerman apologized for killing 17-year-old Trayvon Martin—while in the same breath admitted he’d do nothing different if he had the chance. As Zimmerman, who appeared dazed during parts of the interview, discussed the events that led to the death of an unarmed high-school student simply walking home from the 7-Eleven, it was difficult to imagine a similar chain of events occurring if the tables were turned. Just prior to yesterday’s interview, Zimmerman’s lawyer Mark O’Mara released a statement boldly admitting that part of the reason for the appearance on Fox was to raise money for his client’s defense. Zimmerman has already received a pretty staggering amount of donations since his arrest this past April. So much so that in June, his bail was revoked due to the fact he failed to report at least $150,000 in an online account donated from his many supporters. What if every criminal was allowed a prime time interview in order to raise money for his or her defense? Let’s take it further. Imagine for just a moment if Zimmerman were a black man (Zimmerman is the product of a white father and Hispanic mother). He shoots and kills an unarmed white teenager because said teenager “appeared” to be acting suspicious in his neighborhood community one night. Though the now dead teenager has only a cell phone, Skittles, and iced tea on him, the black man who pulled the trigger not only gets to go home that very night, but he remains free for another 44 days, reportedly because of a self-defense law called “stand your ground.” Only marches and public outcry by white leaders lead to his arrest, but he isn’t in jail long. Even after it’s revealed that he wasn’t truthful with the court about his finances and ability to flee the country, he’s freed once again and then given an extended Hollywood-style interview on a top-rated news program to tell his ever changing story. …Would anyone honestly give a 28-year-old black man the benefit of the doubt telling the same story when a Sanford police officer filed a report that night stating clearly that this tragedy was avoidable had Zimmerman just followed instructions and stayed in his car? Would Fox or any other major news channel dare give him 40 minutes to explain away the senseless death of someone’s child who’d done nothing but walk home from the store with a hoodie on while being black? What network would offer a black man a chance to “humanize” himself in an effort to raise more money for his defense for murdering someone whom he deemed “unfit” for his neighborhood but had committed no crime? And would thousands of strangers send money to support a black man who instead of showing real remorse to the parents of the teenager killed by saying he’d do anything to avoid their child dying at his hands, actually had the gall to say on TV that it was God’s will that the events of that night happened? As Trayvon Martin’s father Tracy said in a statement late last night, “We must worship a different God.’’ Imagine anyone being truly sympathetic to a black man who admitted he never once identified himself to the teenager as a member of the neighborhood watch, which may have given the teenager a very real reason to be afraid for his own life. It’s difficult to believe anyone would be so sympathetic if the tables were indeed turned, and the faces of the accused and the deceased were reversed. But sadly, George Zimmerman is and will continue to be a hero to far too many willing and ready to believe that an unarmed young black teenager minding his own business got exactly what he deserved when he was shot to death that February night. Damn. What do you think of Allison’s theory? She’s makes some very interesting points. Image via WENN TheDailyBeast

‘Battleship’: The Reviews Are In!

Critics were surprised by how much they enjoyed Peter Berg’s film, giving credit to its entertainment factor. By Fallon Prinzivalli Taylor Kitsch and Rihanna in “Battleship” Photo: Universal Pictures Many movie fans have been wary as to whether director Peter Berg could successfully pull of “Battleship.” Inspired by a Hasbro board game giving no hint of any type of plot, the sci-fi epic follows the adventures of an international Navy fleet when aliens begin to invade earth. As the two forces go to battle, each must rely on a crafty, cunning strategy in order to conquer their enemy. The all-star, insanely attractive cast includes Taylor Kitsch , Brooklyn Decker , Alexander Skarsg

Can ‘Avengers’ Top ‘Avatar’ Or ‘Titanic’?

‘By the time ‘Avengers’ is done kicking box-office butt, it will easily be the #3 film of all time,’ one box-office expert tells MTV News. By Fallon Prinzivalli Mark Ruffalo as The Incredible Hulk in “The Avengers” Photo: Marvel “The Avengers” sure did assemble! Marvel’s superhero film is still the reigning champion of movie theaters after it smashed box-office records in its first two weeks. Now, it’s rising to the top of the worldwide charts, recently staking claim to the ninth spot, passing George Lucas’ “Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace.” It’s currently the highest earning film of 2012 domestically, stealing the title from “The Hunger Games,” which opened in March. At present, the Joss Whedon-directed summer flick has raked in more than $1 billion across the globe, and the numbers keep rising. The popularity of the movie is overwhelming, but a few questions still remain. For starters, how high will the film go? Gitesh Pandya , the editor of Box Office Guru , told MTV News, “I see Avengers climbing up to #4 on the all-time worldwide blockbusters list by the end of this weekend. That would put it at roughly $1.2 billion, which is astounding. It should pass the final ‘Harry Potter’ to finish its run as #3 all time, which alone is just incredible.” Jeff Bock of Exhibitor Relations agrees: “By the time ‘Avengers’ is done kicking box-office butt, it will easily be the #3 film of all time. Only ‘Avatar’ and ‘Titanic’ will be left untouched, as James Cameron is a superhero unto himself. Both [films] made history by debuting over the holiday season, where popcorn flicks are few and far between. [And] unfortunately for ‘Avengers,’ summer blockbusters invade every weekend, and theaters will soon be flooded with competition.” The competition Bock is referring to is obviously Christopher Nolan’s final Batman installment. “You know what happens when you leave Batman for dead? He gets angry, rises from the dead and pops you right in the kisser,” he said. ” ‘The Avengers’ versus ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ has all the trappings of a big-time Hollywood drama. Let’s face it, ‘TDKR’ is probably the most anticipated threequel since ‘Return of the Jedi.’ All bets are off!” Boxoffice.com ‘s Phil Contrino agrees that Nolan’s film could beat out “The Avengers” in the battle for overall domestic earnings, but ultimately won’t top the opening weekend or worldwide sales for two reasons. It just doesn’t have the widespread family appeal that Captain America and Iron Man brought with them, or the 3-D prices to give it a boost. With “Battleship” sailing into theaters this weekend, Pandya expects “Avengers” to drop by around 40 percent. “[That will put it in] the neighborhood of $60 million,” he said. “That’s a great hold for a movie this big.” But as far as Earth’s mightiest heroes becoming the highest — or even second-highest — film of all time globally, Contrino doesn’t believe it will happen. “When you burn so bright for one weekend, the only place to go is down,” he said. Nas Gives ‘Behind The Music’ Viewers ‘A Peek Inside’

‘If you don’t tell your story, somebody else will,’ he tells MTV News about why he decided to open up. By Nadeska Alexis Nas Photo: MTV News Nas has earned a reputation for being a man of few words during interviews, so it comes as a bit of a surprise that the Queens rapper agreed to film a segment of VH1’s “Behind the Music.” Just as we suspected, though, Nas was very reluctant to open up for the cameras, as he told MTV News. “It was tough. I didn’t want to do ‘Behind the Music,’ ” Nas admits, reflecting on his decision to go through with the taping. “I didn’t. But at some point, if you don’t tell your story, somebody else will. So I gave them a little peek inside. It can’t hurt, just a little peek inside.” In a preview clip from the episode, Nas talks about growing up in the Queensbridge Housing Projects and watching his parents separate at a young age, in addition to talking about his storied hip-hop career. “You can never forget where you come from, no matter how far you go,” he says. “In the neighborhood where I’m from, people are killed for nothing. You can’t just ignore it. That’s the beauty of rap music, because we’re going to give you the side that no one wants to talk about.” Before sitting down for the interview, Nas said he didn’t know what he would reveal. “I didn’t know what I would give them. I just sat down and talked,” he said. “I knew that I just needed to say enough. And as I’m talking, I realize, ‘Damn, there’s a lot of life here.’ I’m just giving it to them how I feel, but I’m realizing how much more there is.” For someone known to be tight-lipped, Nas is opening up quite a bit this year. Whatever tales are left untold in his “Behind the Music” episode, fans will find in his upcoming autobiography, which is being penned with help from writer Tour

Grand Jury to Hear Trayvon Martin Case, Mull Charges Against George Zimmerman

Trayvon Martin’s girlfriend, who was on the phone with him before the unarmed teen was shot and killed by George Zimmerman, will testify before a grand jury. The grand jury will be impaneled April 10 to determine if Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch captain, should be charged with murder, according to reports. The Trayvon Martin case gained national attention after he was gunned down by Zimmerman, who felt he was acting suspiciously in his gated community. Martin was unarmed, and even though a 911 dispatcher told Zimmerman not to pursue Martin, he subsequently shot the teenager, claiming self defense. To the outrage of many, local law enforcement in Sanford, Fla., declared that there wasn’t enough evidence to charge Zimmerman with a crime in the February killing. Amid public outcry, the Florida State Attorney’s Office has since announced that a grand jury would ultimately decide if he should face criminal charges, however. The FBI and the U.S. Justice Department have also launched investigations. The 17-year-old Martin was on the phone with his girlfriend, whose name has not been released because she’s a minor, as Zimmerman began to follow him. Sanford Police never questioned Trayvon’s girlfriend, even though her parents contacted the cops to tell them she wanted to come in for a full interview. A grand jury will now give her that chance to tell her side of the story. “Trayvon’s girlfriend has been told that the (Fla.) State Attorney’s Office has prepared a subpoena for her to appear in front of the grand jury,” a police source said. Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee Jr. temporarily stepped down from his position Thursday, after he came under fire for not arresting Zimmerman in the case. Zimmerman called 911 46 times in 2011, according to records. Not a single one of those calls resulted in an arrest or further action being needed by police.

Black Militia Leader Plots Citizen’s Arrest Of Trayvon Martin’s Killer “We Will Find Him”

Whatcha gonna do now that they comin’ for you, George? While police have failed to file any charges against George Zimmerman , the overzealous 28-year-old Sanford, FL Neighborhood Watch Captain who fatally shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin last month in their gated neighborhood, if it’s up to the New Black Liberation Militia his days as a free man are numbered. According to The Grio reports : Members of a self-proclaimed “New Black Liberation Militia,” based out of Atlanta, GA, say they plan to attempt a citizen’s arrest of George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watchman who confessed to fatally shooting the unarmed Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Fl last month. One of the leaders of this group, which is “a multi-faith, spiritual, cultural, scientific, and political instructional institution,” according to its website, is a top student of the late Dr. Khallid Abdul Muhammad, a controversial National Spokesman and Representative of the Nation of Islam. Najee Muhammad, who calls himself “the national commander and minister of the New Black Liberation Institute and Militia,” was active in protesting the execution of Troy Davis, who was convicted of and executed for the August 19, 1989 murder of police officer Mark MacPhail in Savannah, GA. The law on citizen’s arrests varies with each state, and Florida is one that relies on common law. It states that a civilian can apprehend a person who he or she has witnessed commit a felony crime — usually as a last resort, in the case that the police have yet to arrive and the alleged criminal is fleeing the scene. Members of The New Black Liberation Militia plan to make a citizen’s arrest of 28-year-old George Zimmerman, since local police have yet to detain him. “We’ll find him. We’ve got his mug shot and everything,” said Muhammad. The problem is, only two people are known to have witnessed the incident — Zimmerman, who insists that he only acted in self defense (as per stand your ground law), and Martin, who was killed. State prosecutors will decide whether Zimmerman met the legal standard for the state’s self-defense law, which allows wide latitude in using deadly force if someone feels reasonably threatened, or if he shot Martin unlawfully and should be arrested. Members of the Black Liberation Militia (or anyone who conducts a citizen arrest) could then face criminal charges themselves, due to the fact that Zimmerman has yet to be charged with any crime pending Florida investigation. It really shouldn’t have to come to this, but it seems pretty obvious that the U.S. criminal justice system doesn’t give a fawk about the lives of black people still to this day! They get more upset about dead animals than dead black people. Keeping it 100. Are Najee Muhammad and his peeps doing the right thing or just setting themselves up to be the next victims of this shady justice system? More On Bossip!
