Father Of Two Gunned Down According to DNA INFO Salvador Flores stood outside his Avondale home Saturday and pointed to the spot where his brother-in-law, Uriel Guadarramo, had fallen after being shot in the chest Friday evening. Flores said he had looked out his window on the 2800 block of North Spaulding Avenue just before 8 p.m. Friday to see Guadarramo, 36, at the front gate talking with a neighborhood friend named Raul. Ten minutes later, Flores heard five or six shots ring out on the quiet residential block. “I hear Raul screaming my sister’s name to come out,” Flores recalled. “I ran up and looked out the window, and he was already laid out on the ground.” Police said a gunman emerged from between two parked cars and opened fire on two men. A 36-year-old man was fatally shot in his chest, and a 61-year-old man was shot in his lower right leg and suffered a graze wound to the back of his head. Guadarramo was one of three people killed in gun violence Friday and Saturday. Flores ran outside and held Guadarramo in his arms, trying to prop him up to prevent Guadarramo from coughing up too much blood. Flores said he tried to keep his brother-in-law conscious as he held him. “I don’t know if he was trying to talk to me. I couldn’t hear anything,” he said. An ambulance took Guadarramo to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 8:44 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. But Flores said he already knew brother-in-law was gone when responders put a sheet over Guadarramo in the ambulance. “I knew right then and there,” he said. Flores’ eyes were glazed Saturday as he remembered Guadarramo, whom he had known since he was four years old. Guadarramo and his sister had been married for about 15 years. The two met when they were both 15 years old, he said. “He pretty much raised me,” Flores said of Guadarramo. “He wasn’t my brother-in-law. He was my brother.” Guadarramo leaves behind two young children: a 12-year-old daughter and a 9-year-old son. On Saturday, a small memorial of candles and notes stood in the grass just outside the gate where Guadarramo was shot. After the shooting, police had asked Flores if Guadarramo may have had a conflict with anyone from the neighborhood, but Flores said Guadarramo was a family man who had lived in the neighborhood his whole life. Guadarramo was a self-employed construction worker who worked long days and enjoyed hosting barbecues for his family, Flores said. “He was a fun person, a hard-working person who loved his family,” he said. “He struggled to make a life for him and his family.” Neighbors said Saturday there may be shootings in the neighborhood every so often, especially in the summertime, but not on the 2800 block of North Spaulding Avenue. “It’s scary,” one neighbor who declined to be named said as small children played across the street. Flores agreed, saying he would not wish what his family is going through on anyone else. “It’s everywhere,” he said of gun violence in Chicago. “The last place you would expect it, it happens.” We feel bad for his kids. Lil Za and Lil Twist Reckless Driving Behind the wheel of JB’s cars – a black Range Rover and the infamous white Ferrari – Za and Twist blew past the woman at dangerously unsafe speeds. She gave them an earful at one of the gates in the community, where Za got out of his car and proclaimed himself a resident, demanding she let him in. When she accused him of not being a resident, Za stated, “I live with Justin Bieber and you know I do.” His parting shot? “F–k you. Get the f–k out of here.” Bieber was thousands of miles away getting baked out of his mind and watching the Heat win the NBA Finals, but these tools don’t reflect well on him.

Man Sets Himself On Fire According to Raw Story A Louisville, Kentucky man set himself on fire and plowed his car into a line of parked vehicles late Sunday night in apparent domestic dispute. According to Louisville’s WDRB Channel 41, the unnamed suspect threw a burning Molotov cocktail into his girlfriend’s car, but lit himself and the interior of his vehicle on fire, setting off a calamitous chain of events that left two cars and a house burning and a trail of destruction through the neighborhood. “I heard this big loud ‘boom,’” said neighbor Anna Lavender. “I looked out and seen a young lady’s car was on fire.” A neighbor who asked to only be identified as Kenneth watched the scene unfold from his house’s second floor. “I saw him get out and grab a big giant boulder down the street, and he goes around the block again and I hear a big crash of glass,” he said. The suspect had used a large rock to break the window of his girlfriend’s car. “He pulls right up next to the PT Cruiser and lights a Molotov cocktail which causes a huge flame, and throws it inside the PT Cruiser.” The woman’s car was gutted by flames, but the suspect managed to light himself on fire in the process. Panicking, he stomped his car’s accelerator, smashing it into a line of cars that he then pushed up over the curb and into a house, which then caught on fire. Residents scrambled from their beds to put out the flames. “I heard a big boom hit the house,” said Jamie Carwile, who grabbed her 3-year-old daughter and ran from the burning house. “My aunt’s boyfriend went into the basement and got the water hose and stretched it out here as far as we could just to spray the house to keep the house from getting hot.” The house was damaged by the fire and collision, but was left mostly intact. Police and paramedics arrived at the scene and the suspect was taken into custody and hospitalized for burns. He escaped from the hospital and is still at large. Authorities have not released his name. If you’re going to be a criminal, be a smart criminal. Don’t go trying to light other people ish up and set your azz on fire.

Detroit Most Dangerous City In The U.S. According to CBS Detroit It’s a clean sweep for Detroit, but nothing to be proud of, as the city takes the top three spots on a list of the most dangerous neighborhoods in America. The study by NeighborhoodScout.com analyzed FBI statistics from 17,000 local law enforcement agencies to pinpoint neighborhoods across the country with the highest predicted rates of violent crimes per 1,000 residents. Researchers drilled down deep into cities and towns to find specific census tract areas that had the highest rates of homicide, forcible rape, armed robbery and aggravated assault. According to the study, the area east of the Barton-McFarland community in zip code 48204 is the most dangerous neighborhood in America. The study said the chances of becoming a victim of violent crime in this west side community over the course of a year are one in seven. According to NeighborhoodScout, one of the more devastating events in this neighborhood over the past year was the closure of the public library — where children took remedial reading and math classes and adults used public computers to apply for jobs. Sharing similar statistics is the Islandview community in the 48207 zip code on the city’s east side, which ranks as the second most dangerous neighborhood on the list. It’s in this neighborhood where, according to the study, housing costs have gone down so dramatically that a 3,300 square-foot property sold for just $800 — down from $70,000 in 2002. The study said the chances of becoming a victim of violent crime in this community over the course of a year are one in seven. Coming in as the third most dangerous neighborhood in the country is the area between Ravendale and LaSalle College Park in zip codes 48213 and 48205. The study said the chances of becoming a victim of violent crime in this east side neighborhood are one in eight. About 40 percent of the households here have four or more cars — more cars per household than in 96 percent of the country, according to NeighborhoodScout. Ish is real in Chicago ! According to DNAInfoChicago A man died after being shot Monday morning in an area of Back of the Yards that neighbors described as quiet. The 22-year-old man was in the 1700 block of West 44th Street about 4:50 a.m. when he was shot, said officer Michael Sullivan, a Chicago Police spokesman. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, Chicago Fire Department spokeswoman Meg Ahlheim said. He later died of his injuries, said a spokeswoman with the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. The morgue was not releasing the man’s identity pending notification his family. No one was in custody for the shooting, Sullivan said. Neighbors Gibron Lenero and Reyna Lenero said they woke up about 4:30 a.m. and heard arguing outside. Soon after, Reyna Lenero heard shots, she said. The couple, who moved to the area four months ago, said it’s a quiet residential street that’s well patrolled by police, and nothing like this has happened since they’ve been here. “It’s just families,” Gibron Lenero said. Reyna Lenero said she’s “a little bit” scared because the couple has two young daughters. “This was just a couple meters from our house,” Gibron Lenero said. Another local resident, Jose Gemenez, said he’s lived in different houses on the same street in this neighborhood for more than 30 years. He didn’t hear anything and was shocked when he saw cop cars and crime scene tape while getting his kids ready for school. “I’m kind of surprised because there’s a lot of police around here,” Gemenez said. “We don’t see the violence here usually.” He said the area was worse years ago, but things seemed to be getting better. “It’s not in this area, not on this side of the park,” Gemenez said.
