Considering the week Justin Bieber has been having, you’d think the singer would be in danger of losing sponsorship deals. He’s been accused of trying to steal a cell phone . He’s been caught cursing off a fan . And he’s been sued by a photographer . But these actions have apparently endeared the artist to notorious pornography king Larry Flynt. In a letter obtained by Dish Network, the Hustler Magazine founder has offered Bieber $1 million to serve as a spokesperson for his strip clubs, as the establishments are launching a campaign to stop “outsourcing visits to strip clubs and from now on buy only American.” We’ll ignore, for the moment, the fact that Bieber is Canadian. In the letter to the singer, Flynt’s Hustler Club Director of Marketing David Lieberman says he wants to stage a 21st birthday party for Bieber and his dad Jeremy next March, writing to Scooter Braun: “Justin will set a good and safe example to his remaining fans by advocating a legal and safe way to satisfy their sexual desires when they finally reach the legal age of 21.” The letter adds: “Just imagine the street cred Justin will receive when he escorts one of our HUSTLER Club Centerfolds to the next big championship fight,” a reference to Bieber’s penchant for attending boxing matches in Las Vegas. Hustler is also proposing that Bieber star in a commercial for its brand. Bieber, of course, reportedly dropped 75K at a Miami strip joint in January… so we know he likes to watch naked ladies. It remains unclear just when the Kim Kardashian-Kanye West wedding will take place. According to the latest report, an unsigned prenuptial agreement is holding up the nuptials, which are still expected to go down this month. But E! News has at least revealed one key detail about the ceremony, regardless of when or where it happens: Bruce Jenner will talk Kim down the aisle. AWWW! Bruce, of course, separated from Kris Jenner this fall, but he is still booked for Keeping Up with the Kardashians and he remains close to his stepdaugthers. Kim’s birth father, Robert Kardashian, passed away in 2003. There have been a number of stories regarding Kim and Kanye’s big day recently, but E! says any talk of the couple having already obtained a marriage license is FALSE. The same can be said for those that claim this will be a major, giant, widely-attended affair. “There are only 100 guests invited . One week ahead of its Upfront presentation in New York City, The CW has announced some major lineup changes. The following three dramas have been canceled: The Carrie Diaries The Tomorrow People Star-Crossed The Carrie Bradshaw-inspired series wrapped in January, failing to hit 1 million total viewers for its finale; while the latter two ended their runs on Monday night to similarly disappointing numbers. On the brighter side, however, The CW picked up the following shows for another season: The 100 Beauty and the Beast Hart of Dixie We’ll know a lot more about how many episodes will comprise these new seasons, along with their premiere dates and times, on May 16 when the network presents its new lineup to fans and advertisers. TV One Announces New Reality Show “Hollywood Divas” Another day, another reality show . This time, the focus will be on professional and personal 5 familiar female celebrities in the acting and entertainment fields. via TV One TV One will add Hollywood Divas to its line-up of its hit reality series R&B Divas Atlanta and R&B Divas LA. The announcement was made today by D’Angela Proctor, SVP Programming and Production, TV One. The new one-hour reality show, currently in production in Los Angeles, will join the network schedule in Q4 2014. Hollywood Divas follows actresses Elise Neal (The Hughleys), Golden Brooks (Girlfriends), Paula Jai Parker (Hustle and Flow), Countess Vaughn (The Parkers) and Lisa Wu (Real Housewives of Atlanta) as they navigate life attempting to stay relevant in the unpredictable entertainment industry. “TV One’s audience has a passion for programming that reveals the private stories behind the public lives of Black artists,” said Proctor. “The Hollywood Divas’ willingness to share their, experiences with inequality and obstacles when it comes to the Hollywood merry-go-round is the foundation of this series. Maya is doing big things. Maya Rudolph To Star In Self-Titled Show We loved her in “Bridesmaids”….can’t wait to see the her new show. According Indie Wire: Starring the Emmy Award nominee and beloved Saturday Night Live veteran, NBC has scheduled The Maya Rudolph Show for Monday, May 19 at 10 PM. Rudolph, David Javerbaum, Erin David and Dave Becky will produce, with Lorne Michaels serving as executive producer. Grammy Award-nominated singer-songwriter Janelle Monae will serve as the musical guest. R&B singer-producer Raphael Saadiq will be the bandleader. It’s currently unclear whether The Maya Rudolph Show will become a permanent series for the network, or just a single one-night special. The show is sure to be a hit with all that talent. President Obama Talks GOP Voter Suppression Efforts At 2014 NAN Convention Earlier today in New York City, President Obama took to the stage at the 2014 National Action Network Convention to address an intimate crowd of press, political peers, a handful of celebrity guests and a small group of lucky ticket holders. During his short and simple but fired-up speech the POTUS addressed the growing problem of voter suppression across the country in anticipation of the upcoming mid-term elections. BOSSIP was in the building to hear the President speak and slam Republicans for openly making it more difficult to vote when they themselves are trying to gain votes. Check out a few excerpts from his speech below. On certain groups of people (minorities, women, elderly, etc.) still having to fight for voting rights in the U.S.: “This recent effort to restrict the vote has not been lead by both parties. It’s been lead by the Republican party. If your strategy depends on having fewer people showing up to vote, that’s not a sign of strength. That’s a sign of weakness. And not only is ultimately bad politics, ultimately it is bad for the country.” You’d think this wouldn’t be an argument anymore, but the stark, simple truth is this: The right to vote is threatened today, in a way that it has not been since the Voting Rights Act became law nearly five decades ago Across the country, Republicans have led efforts to make it harder and harder for people to vote.” On continuing to fight for equal voting rights: “We’ve GOT to continue to press for equal voting rights. Every American that wants to vote should be able to vote. The single most important thing we can do to protect our right to vote, is to vote.” On being questioned about the validity of his birth certificate last year: “Just to be clear, I do know where my birth certificate is (laughs). I think it’s still up on a website somewhere. Do you guys remember that? That was crazy. I haven’t thought about that in a while.” You can watch a clip from from President Obama’s speech earlier today, below. Voter suppression is one of the biggest threats to the minority community in terms of getting our voices heard, so hopefully people are paying attention to the GOP suppression efforts and finding ways to fight back.
