Kim Kardashian Didn’t Profit From Wedding, Mom Says

Kris Jenner stops by Sway’s Shade 45 morning show to talk about daughter’s divorce from Kris Humphries. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Sway Calloway Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian Photo: Denise Truscello/ WireImage Kim Kardashian’s siblings have already spoken out about her split from Kris Humphries , and now mom and manager Kris Jenner is weighing in on the very public divorce. “Kim obviously had to make a really tough decision yesterday, and it’s been really, really hard on her, for sure,” Jenner told MTV News’ Sway Calloway when she stopped by his “Sway in the Morning” radio show on SiriusXM’s Shade 45. “But as her mom, she knows me and she knows her family well enough to know that no matter what, I’m there, we’re all there for her through thick and thin. I told her: You have to follow your heart.” While the family is weathering the breakup storm, Kris had one message for the haters out there: Kim married for love, not profit. “The misconception that’s so annoying in the media and the press is that the wedding was a sham and she did it for the money,” Kris said. “Kim didn’t make any money off of this wedding. No. She didn’t make five cents off of the wedding. “She spent millions of dollars of her own money on a wedding,” she continued. “And you know our network was very generous and filmed the show and obviously gave her a salary, all of us our shooting fees and all that, but it’s not like we walked away with millions of dollars jingling in our pockets; absolutely not. … It’s tough when you have all the haters who have these licenses to say whatever they want and people don’t know the facts. … And people don’t know the facts. So get your facts straight, people, before you start judging.” Kim’s Cover Up: How The Tabloids Got It Right While the divorce has seen its fair share of criticism, Kris noted that Kim’s fans have stuck by their girl through her darkest hours. “We have an intimate relationship with our fans and viewers that we really respect and love, and so many people have been so amazing and supportive,” she said. So will Kris J. miss Kris H., who has vowed that he’s “willing to do whatever it takes to make it work”? “Well, he’s a great guy,” she shared. “I like Kris, and he’s a good person, and they needed to do what they needed to do. So we’ll see what happens.” Tick Tock: The Shortest Celebrity Marriages Ever The bottom line, according to Mama Kardashian, is that, in the end, everything will work out for her little girl. “I told Kim: You’re not the first person who’s ever gotten a divorce, and guess what? You’re not going to be the last,” she said. “Unfortunately, this was short, and we feel bad, but, you know, she’s going to be OK.” Catch MTV News’ Sway Calloway on “Sway in the Morning,” on SiriusXM Radio’s Shade 45 , Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon ET. Blankinship, 56, has been charged with 10 counts of sex exploit of a minor, meaning he possessed photos and/or video of a minor engaged in sexual activity. A subcontractor for Figure 8 Films, Blankenship edited such TLC shows as Jon and Kate Plus 8 , its spinoff Kate Plus 8 , 17 Kids and Counting and Table for 12 . Casey Anthony to Sit Down With NBC?

NBC is reportedly working hard to land an interview with Casey Anthony, and thinks it may have found a way to do so without paying her a dime, either. Technically. An NBC news producer is reaching out to people in the literary world, according to reports , trying to score a book deal for Anthony. What’s the catch? The producer has told literary agents and others that if he scored a book deal for Casey, she’d give the network a one-hour, exclusive primetime special. While there is believed to be a bidding war for the first interview with Casey, news networks can’t or won’t pay her … so they look for crafty workarounds. Portions of that interview would also run on Today , probably resulting in mega-ratings for the Peacock. All the while, someone else would pay Casey. The producer makes it clear NBC couldn’t pay a cent for the interview, but is pushing hard for a book deal, even saying Casey wants up front money. Jose Baez, Casey’s lawyer, says he ahs knowledge of the producer’s efforts, but says, “I’m not involved in that process. I did not entice him to do it.” Baez also adds, “Casey is not ready to do an interview.” Anthony, who remains in hiding, is also being courted by Barbara Walters , we’re told. Casey Anthony :

Adam Levine on Fox News: Evil F*%king Channel!

Singer Adam Levine instigated a full scale Twitter war with Fox News after asking that the “evil f-cking channel” no longer play his songs last night. It’s unclear at what point Fox featured his songs and which one(s), but he apparently didn’t take kindly to it, firing off this scathing Tweet Wednesday. And then all social media hell broke loose. Several of the network’s anchors, surprisingly, hit back: “Dear Adam Levine, don’t make crappy f-cking music again,” Andy Levy wrote. “Thank you.” Redeye host Greg Gutfeld then took aim at the Maroon 5 frontman: “Why did Maroon 5 cross the road?” he asked. “Because crappy music is legal there!” Gutfeld then retweeted some of Levine’s musings and added some sarcastic commentary. Sample tweet, with his response preceding Adam’s original: Names that sound alike: Maroon 5 and crap. @adamlevine Names that sound alike: @kelseygrammer and @chelseahandler. Levine has never shied away from stirring up controversy on Twitter, but this is taking it to new heights. From an entertainment standpoint, keep it up! [Photo: WENN.com]

‘Jersey Shore’ Star Vinny Teams Up With GLAAD

New anti-bullying campaign for Spirit Day also draws casts of ‘Glee’ and ‘Pretty Little Liars.’ By Jocelyn Vena “Jersey Shore” star Vinny Guadagnino Photo: Ian Spanier “Jersey Shore” star Vinny Guadagnino is set to team up with GLAAD (the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) to help celebrate Spirit Day , the organization announced on Thursday, October 13. The MTV reality star is just one of a number of A-list actors, athletes and other celebrities who have stepped in to join GLAAD on October 20 for their latest anti-bullying campaign, “Amplify Your Voice!” So, who else is lending a supportive voice to end the bullying that’s so frequently aimed at the LGBT community? “Glee” cheerleader Naya Rivera, the cast of ABC Family’s “Pretty Little Liars,” and transgender celeb Chaz Bono, who’s currently competing on “Dancing With the Stars,” will all pitch in. Other participants include Mario Lopez and “Modern Family” star Ariel Winter. (The project was created with the help of the American Federation of Teachers and directs kids on how they can combat bullying in schools and beyond.) The campaign also features members of New York’s the Center, a Greenwich Village haven for LGBT youths to share their personal stories. “Millions of gay and transgender youth are made to feel like they don’t fit in,” Vinny says in a PSA for the campaign. “We’ve all been hurt by words before, so before you speak, think about how your words might affect someone else.” Projects like MTV’s A Thin Line campaign have also helped to increase awareness about bullying among teens. On Monday night, MTV premiered the original film “DISconnected,” which focused on issues in a world where technology controls personal lives. “I see the viciousness of people every day,” the “Shore” star said on the “DISconnected” after show , which he helped co-host. “I kind of want to be a soldier in the field, so to speak, and try to combat the negativity with a positive message. I want to help open people’s eyes up, like this movie does, to the negativity, to the negativity.” You can show your support by wearing purple on October 20, for starters, and visit the Spirit Day site for more information about the ongoing crisis of anti-gay bullying. MTV will also participate by changing the network’s on-air logo to a purple hue.

‘Breaking Bad’ Star Talks Explosive Season Finale

AMC series’ latest gruesome death was an ‘Oh my god moment,’ three-time Emmy winner Bryan Cranston tells MTV News. By Josh Wigler Bryan Cranston in “Breaking Bad” Photo: AMC “Breaking Bad” fans, it’s time to pick your jaw up off the floor (or scrape it off the wall, as the case may be) and let reality soak in: The AMC Network’s fourth season finale, which aired Sunday night, was about as explosive as it gets … and we mean that quite literally. Spoiler mode is officially on. Sunday night’s finale, appropriately titled ” Face Off ,” offered closure on one of the show’s most longstanding conflicts: the seasons-long battle between drug kingpin Gustavo Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) and our “hero,” mild-mannered chemistry teacher-turned-ruthless meth cook Walter White (Bryan Cranston). And it ended the only way it could — with the immaculately dressed Gus in a body bag. But it’s not merely the fact that the Pollos Hermanos founder took the big adios that’s become such a water-cooler moment today, it’s the fiery, almost “Dark Knight”-inspired way he went out. Walt, already unsuccessful in his most recent attempt to assassinate Gus by way of a car bomb, adopted the “enemy of my enemy is my friend” philosophy and joined forces with the physically invalid Hector “Tio” Salamanca (Mark Margolis), Gus Fring’s sworn nemesis. With revenge in his heart and Walt’s plan in his mind, Tio successfully lured Gus out of hiding and tricked him into a one-on-one encounter, one that Gus was certain would end in his longtime rival’s demise … except that Walt rigged his explosive device to the underside of Tio’s chair, and after a few frantic rings of his infamous communication bell, the deal was sealed and the bomb went off. With his final act, Gus took a few steps away from the explosion, adjusted his tie as was his wont, and fell to his knees with half of his face completely missing. In a show that’s seen severed heads on the backs of turtles and fully liquefied bodies leaking through ceilings, Gus’ death was perhaps the most gruesome moment “Breaking Bad” has ever seen … so much so that it even shocked series lead Bryan Cranston. “It’s that ‘Oh my god’ [kind of] moment,” Cranston told MTV News in an exclusive interview on Monday morning (October 10), weighing in on Gustavo Fring’s gruesome final scene. “What’s great about it is, for some reason, I didn’t see it coming. You have a situation where Walt is trying to make this bomb. He has a detonator. It doesn’t work because [Gus] didn’t go to the car, so now he has to think up some ulterior motive.” “What I wanted to do when Walt goes to the senior citizen home to talk to Tio was to not have that case [containing the bomb] in evidence anywhere,” Cranston continued. “I didn’t want to telegraph what was going to happen. I think I hid it pretty well; we could assume that maybe he’s trying a different tactic, because the bomb thing didn’t work so well. Now he’s going to try a different way. Is Tio going to pull out a gun? What’s he going to do? We know they’re talking and in cahoots with each other — Walt says, ‘Do you have any second guesses?’ and he doesn’t — but I didn’t know [how Gus was going to die] until I read it. I didn’t know how they were going to connect it. It came out perfect, with ringing the bell as the detonator.” For many fans, Gus’ death was a long time coming, and his final moments onscreen certainly did not disappoint in the shock and awe departments. But the loss of Gus also means the loss of Giancarlo Esposito, the veteran actor who brilliantly played the cool, collected villain for three seasons of “Breaking Bad.” For Cranston, the moment was “bittersweet. It was a fitting end to their struggles.” “We lose Gus Fring as a character, but I’ve gained Giancarlo Esposito as a friend,” he added, looking on the bright side. “That’s more valuable than anything. He’s a wonderful man and a terrific actor, a very gracious, very giving, spiritually sound guy who’s just embraceable. I have that [friendship] to look forward to.” What did you think of the “Breaking Bad” finale? Tell us in the comments!
