Ricky Gervais Promises This Year’s Golden Globes Will Be His Last and Most Offensive

Maybe Ricky Gervais wasn’t kidding when he tweeted that he has already claimed the Holocaust and pedophilia as Golden Globe monologue material. The polarizing Globes host and comedian has taken to his blog to express his true (R-rated) intent in hosting this year’s ceremony and to declare that he will be making guests even more uncomfortable than they felt last year. Yikes!

REVIEW: Happy Feet Two Is Too Much of an Almost-Good Thing

Australian director George Miller’s Happy Feet was one of the surprise pleasures of the 2006 moviegoing year. The story was simple: A young Emperor penguin who has no skill for singing, a necessary skill in wooing a mate, discovers instead that he has a flair for dancing. And it didn’t hurt that Savion Glover choreographed the dance moves of the main character, a chubby, awkward-elegant little guy named Mumble, voiced by Elijah Wood.

Watch as George Clooney talks about Gregory Peck and his uncle, the late Oscar winner José Ferrer, and Payne recalls wise words from a kooky Czech stage actor.

REVIEW: Tomboy Explores Loaded Gender Issues with a Delicate, Assured Touch

Céline Sciamma’s film is titled Tomboy , but the gender issues it delves into are more complex than any supposedly unfeminine preferences for sports and pants-wearing and other associations that linger around that antiquated term.

Muppets PR Blitz Vamps On with Twilight Parody Posters

We’ve seen enough satirical Muppets promo material to last us through the next hundred Muppet sequels, but I have to hand it to the tireless Disney merchants for their newest gag: a Twilight Saga spoof. The Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog posters are expected, but it’s the third, Lautner-ian one-sheet that left me speechless. The pun is also first-rate.
