Heavy D died from a pulmonary embolism caused by deep leg vein thrombosis, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office. TMZ is reporting that a pulmonary embolism — which is a blockage of one or more arteries in the lungs, most often caused by blood clots which travel from other parts of the body — was formed in Heavy’s legs. Heavy D also suffered from heart disease, which could have been a contributing factor in his death. He has been resigned once again by the New Jersey Nets , and will reportedly get $8 million for one year. Tina Knowles , mother of super-star Beyonce , officially filed for divorce from her husband Mathew ! The final decree of divorce was issued last month in a Texas court. According to TMZ Tina filed them on August 30. This comes after much speculation into the couple’s private life, which included Mathew fathering a child outside of his and her marriage. A paternity test eventually revealed that Mathew was indeed the father of his mistress’ baby. Idris Elba landed a Best Actor/ Miniseries nomination for his role as DCI John Luther in the BBC procedural “LUTHER.” This is Elba’s second Golden Globe nomination for playing the complex and tortured police detective. Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer were recognized for their work in the period ensemble The Help . Davis is up for Best Actress/Drama and Spencer for Best Supporting Actress/Drama.
