Jinger Duggar Rocks Short Sleeves; Fans Go Wild

When you consider all the drama that’s surrounded the Duggar family in recent years, it’s more than a little surprising that something as seemingly prosaic as Jinger Duggar’s wardrobe would be favorite topic of discussion for so many fans. But for many who have watched her grow from a young tomboy to a happily married woman, Jinger’s clothing conveys so much more than simply her taste in fashion. Many were surprised when a photo of Jinger wearing pants surfaced on social media, as like her sisters, Jinger was forced to abide by a strict dress code while she was living under her parents’ roof. In the Duggar household, women are forbidden to wear pants, and instead must sport floor-length skirts at all times, even when engaged in sports or other physical activities. “We do not dress modestly because we are ashamed of the body God has given us; quite the contrary,” the Duggar girls wrote in their 2014 memoir, Growing Up Duggar . “We realize that our body is a special gift from God and that He intends for it to be shared only with our future husband… We avoid low-cut, cleavage-showing, gaping, or bare-shouldered tops; and when needed, we wear an undershirt.” They added: “We try to make it a habit to always cover the top of our shirt with our hand when we bend over. We don’t want to play the peekaboo game with our neckline.”  When pressed on the matter, the family would always explain that the girls consented to the dress code, having adopted their parents’ views on the importance of modest attire. Despite that explanation, Jinger defiantly bucked that trend when she married Jeremy Vuolo . Once Duggar women are married, it’s their husbands, not their fathers who make most of the decisions about their lifestyle. (Yes, people still live this way in 2017.) Jeremy doesn’t share Jim Bob’s conservative views on women’s fashion, and as a result, Jinger can wear pretty much whatever she wants. We’ve already seen Jinger wear shorts , heels, tight pants … and now, she’s moving on to exposed arms. Yes, she might be conservatively dressed by most people’s standards, but for a Duggar, this look is downright risque. For the most part, fans have been supportive of Jinger’s bold decision to wear a freakin’ t-shirt, but there are those who find the situation to ridiculous to applaud. “Now she started to wear pants and dresses that leave arms uncovered,” one follower wrote on Instagram. “At 23 years old. Because her husband’s told her she can do it. In 2017. Ok.” We share the sentiment, but it’s important to remember that Jinger didn’t create her family’s bizarre code of conduct–and tossing it aside constitutes a laudable act of bravery. Taylor Swift Video Director: Enough with the Beyonce Comparisons!

We’re guessing this hasn’t exactly been the return Taylor Swift envisioned. First, the singer was criticized for a drawn out tease of her new album, taking three days on Instagram to share various snake-themed videos that got kind of old and obvious right away. Then, Swift released ” Look at What You Made Me Do ,” her first single in years. And people HATED it . Then , Swift teased the music video that will debut during tonight’s MTV VMAS… … and a certain segment of the population really let her have it. Based on Swift’s all-black outfit and the alignment of her backup dances, Taylor is accused of copying Beyonce . Members of the passionate Beyhive think Swift stole her look and portions of the music video from Beyonce’s “Formation” performance at the Super Bowl and from her video for the track “Lemonade.” “Lemonade and Minute Maid,” one Internet user wrote rather harshly, while others offered critiques such as the following: On Friday night, however, Joseph Kahn came to Swift’s defense. The Grammy-winning director behind Swift’s “Bad Blood” video, as well as Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name” and “Jumpin Jumpin,” Tweeted his reaction to fan speculation that Tay was making like Bey. “I’ve worked with Beyoncé a few times,” Kahn wrote. “She’s an amazing person. The #LWYMMDvideo is not in her art space. Love and respect to Bey.” Interesting take and perspective, right? The shot of Swift and her male dancers all lined up in an elegant ballroom is the one that has Beyonce fans must upset. “Beyonce played on being a plantation owner in Formation & now that Taylor Swift is ripping from it she’s trying to be one too,” wrote one critic on social media. And others have been ripping Swift for the way she launched her comeback, for the single itself and then for the video. “The song is a poor man’s Britney, the video’s gonna be a poor man’s Beyonce,” explained another hater. “Taylor Swift wants to be anyone but Taylor Swift.” Ouch . We’ll get a chance to view the entire video on Sunday night at the MTV Video Music Awards. It’s probably best to withhold judgment until then. “There’s something to that ‘Formation’ shot I painted out and you haven’t seen yet,” Kahn added on Twitter, teasing the video’s upcoming premiere and writing: “Stay tuned Sunday #LWYMMDvideo #SneakyAsian.” We’ll be doing that for sure. Will you?!? View Slideshow: Taylor Swift Albums: The Definitive Countdown!

Kailyn Lowry: Fighting Chris Lopez for Custody of Their Baby?!

Kailyn Lowry really does have a wonderful little life, doesn’t she? She has a beautiful home with three beautiful children, one a precious little newborn she just brought home. She just finished her bachelor’s degree in May — the first Teen Mom to complete an undergraduate degree! — and it looks like she’s setting herself up well for when the MTV paychecks dry up. In all the recent photos she’s shared of herself with her kids, she looks really, really happy. It’s nice to see. But while there are a whole lot of good things going for Kailyn, it can’t be denied that there’s a fair bit of drama going on behind the scenes. Or, well, not “behind the scenes,” really. It’s pretty much just out there in the open. And that’s largely because of the father of her third child, Chris Lopez. We’ve been hearing all about Chris ever since Kailyn confirmed he was the baby’s father — and the things we’ve heard haven’t been very good. Throughout her pregnancy, we heard that he’d abandoned her, and she even said that she was going to be a single mom this time around. Report after report claimed that Chris didn’t want anything to do with her or their baby, and that was pretty heartbreaking. But then, something amazing happened! She revealed in an interview that he was there in the delivery room when she gave birth to the precious but still unnamed Baby Lo, and he also drove them home from the hospital. And yes, that’s pretty much the bare minimum a new father should do, but it was definitely a step in the right direction. In the past few weeks, various reports have claimed that Chris can’t seem to make up his mind on how active of a parent he wants to be. Shortly after the birth, he visited his new son frequently, but then he allegedly bailed again . But as a source now tells Hollywood Life, he’s doing the best he can. “Kailyn and Chris have been spending more time together since the baby’s birth, trying to make the whole difficult situation work,” the source says. “He is doing his best to be a good father and to treat Kailyn better. Chris loves their little baby and wants to make sure he has a healthy relationship with Kailyn.” That’s nice, right? Though they’re both “overwhelmed with the new baby” right now, “he is there and doing what he feels is the right thing.” “Kailyn is happy that he is present and helping with diapers and late night feedings, so all is well with them … for now at least.” Unfortunately, as soon as that source told that sweet little story, another popped up with a slightly different take on things. Because even though Chris is apparently trying, “it’s just not working out.” “At this point, having raised two babies already, Kailyn is an expert when it comes to caring for the baby,” this source alleges. “Frankly, Chris is just getting in her way and causing extra problems.” But someone getting in the way of her new mom groove may be the least of her problems soon … The supposed Kailyn insider says that Chris’ mother is urging him “to apply for full time custody of her grandchild.” “Chris has no desire to try and take his kid away from Kailyn,” which is good, “but his mom is concerned about visitation rights.” It’s not just that though — his mother is also said to be concerned about Kailyn’s “lifestyle,” as well as “the fact that she has three children from three fathers.” “Chris’ mom really wants Baby Lo to be raised by her family and standards.” Which, if true, is pretty rich, considering that her family raised Chris, a guy who basically abandoned a woman after he got her pregnant and could very well end up abandoning his son, too. Oh, Kailyn, just when it looked like things couldn’t get messier … View Slideshow: Teen Mom & Teen Mom 2: The Complete Babies and Children Guide!

Taylor Swift Under Fire: Why Is "Look What You Made Me Do" So Widely Hated?

In the three years since her last studio album   was released to record-breaking sales and rapturous reviews, Taylor Swift has endured two high profile breakups and a string of increasingly ugly celebrity feuds. For the past several months, she’s kept a low profile, spacing out her social media posts and refusing to acknowledge the petty shade thrown by her detractors. When we first learned that Taylor had new music on the way – and that she planned to address her haters in song form – the anticipation from fans couldn’t have been much higher. Unfortunately, while the single released last night delivered on the expected drama, it also met with mostly negative reactions from both actual music critics and the self-appointed variety who love to sound off on Twitter. Taylor has become an easy target over the past year, and we all know how much the angry social media hordes love to dogpile celebs struggling with public image crises, but in this case, the attackers have a point. Not only is “Look What You Made Me Do” lazy and uninspired (We wish we were joking when we say portions of the melody were lifted from Right Said Fred’s “I’m Too Sexy” .), it sends a troubling message about the importance of staying angry and settling old scores at any cost. With lyrics like “I got mine, but you’ll all get yours” sounding like they were ripped from the manifesto of a disgruntled postal worker with an NRA membership, the song is an impassioned ode to the power of poisonous grudges. “I got a list of names and yours is in red, underlined,” Taylor sing-threatens at one point, giving us a taste of what Arya Stark would sound like if she developed a taste for awkward rhyme schemes. Sadly, the whole single is like this, and Taylor seems painfully unaware that her edgy new image feels as forced and unnatural as that British accent Madonna rocked for a while. Naturally, the lines that have garnered the most attention are the ones that seem to be directed at specific rivals. Taylor has beefed with Katy Perry , Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Diplo, Calvin Harris, and many others in the years since 1989 marked what might be looked back on as the high point of her career. Her forthcoming album will likely address all of those feuds, indirectly or otherwise, but fans who have painstakingly unpacked the lyrics believe that “Look What You Made Me Do” is aimed primarily at Kanye. At one point, Taylor sings, “I don’t like your tilted stage,” which could be a play on un-level playing field imagery … or a very specific reference to the lopsided floating platform West performed on during his most recent tour. Many have pointed out that Taylor’s album hits stores on the tenth anniversary of the death of Kanye’s mother. In all likelihood, that’s nothing more an unfortunate coincidence. Fortunately for Taylor, it’s not like Kanye’s the type of egomaniac who thinks everything is about him. J/k, he’s probably in the studio penning a diss verse over the beat of Tupac’s “Hit ‘Em Up” at this very moment. But the biggest problems with “Look What You Made Me Do” have less to do with the mental gymnastics Taylor performs in order to position herself as the eternal victim, and more to do with the structural problems of the song itself. It’s a slapdash effort that Swift would’ve been wise to pawn off on a lesser-known artist, as it’s simply a poor fit for her. The song’s most embarrassing moments are saved for its final seconds, when, after crooning, “I don’t trust nobody and nobody trusts me” several times, Taylor ratchets up the goth-y angst with a cringe-worthy spoken word snippet: “I’m sorry, but the old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now,” the singer breathlessly murmurs. “Why? Oh, because she’s dead.” Hopefully the new Taylor has access to a Ouija board, because she desperately needs to recruit her old self as a writing partner. Sarah Stage: I Don’t Photoshop These Abs!

People love to body-shame Sarah Stage, who doesn’t let pregnancy come between her and her six-pack of rock-hard abs. Even when Sarah Stage reveals her pregnancy weight , people want to jump on her case and say that she can’t possibly be healthy. But now people are attacking her from a different angle — claiming that the fit mom just edits her photos to look that way! Sarah Stage made headlines in 2015 for her minor baby bump and clearly defined six-pack abs. She delivered a healthy baby boy. This year, she’s been making headlines again for, yet again, flaunting her killer abs throughout her pregnancy. She’s due in October, which is getting closer and closer. (We’re almost in September, you guys) As you can see, she looks amazing for a woman 31 weeks into her pregnancy. She. Looks. Incredible . She’s only gained 18 pounds from her pregnancy, but we don’t have any reason to believe that this is an unhealthy weight. Some people balloon up during pregnancy, and others just look like they’re smuggling a balloon under their shirts. It mostly has to do with genetic predispositions, of the mother but also of the baby daddy (a lot of pregnancy’s less pleasant experiences are the result of the fetus hijacking the body) Though, in Sarah Stage’s case, her insane workouts (even while pregnant) are obviously a major factor. Recently, some fans spotted Sarah Stage out and about, wearing a pair of mom jeans and a billowy, comfy shirt with what looked like a more “normal” baby bump. Not the sort of baby bump that you’d expect to see at 31 weeks, but more than you see in the white bikini photo that we showed you above, which was shared the same day that Sarah was spotted. People started to whisper that maybe she uses photo editing software, because a lot of people are shockingly unable to grasp that makeup and posing have a massive impact on how somebody looks. Sarah’s representative responded to the accusations by shutting them down: “Sarah would never Photoshop any photo.” Some fitness models might resort to photoshop, but that could ruin their reputation — so why risk it? “She shares her images with her audience to embrace all different body types and her pregnancy. She’s been shamed through both pregnancies. She’s trying to put her journey out there to encourage others.” She’s working to reduce body-shaming. We shouldn’t shame women for being large or small, when pregnant or not pregnant. Specifically, on Sarah being spotted wearing normal clothes, like a human, her rep dismissed it pretty handily: “This goes to show that Sarah is just a regular mom, on the go, wearing comfy clothing as she runs errands.” Consider this: who out there has ever taken a bikini photo without sucking in their gut, or angling to look the best that they could? Some people, probably. But not, as a rule, fitness models. Their abs are their moneymakers. We have a feeling that Sarah Stage doesn’t do her bonkers workouts just to fake it for the camera.

Game of Thrones Season 7 Finale Photos: Where’s Daenerys?!

We've known for quite some time that the final two seasons of Game of Thrones would be truncated affairs, but still, we can't help feeling that the show's seventh season finale is upon us far too soon. Fewer episodes has meant a faster pace, which – though fun in some cases – has resulted in some pretty glaring inconsistencies in others. (Based on travel times, Westeros is now apparently the size of Providence, Rhode Island.) Fortunately, the show is in a position to deliver its most explosive season finale to date, which should help placate fans who are feeling slighted. Check out the first photos from “The Wolf and the Dragon” below, and watch Game of Thrones online at TV Fanatic to get caught up in time for Sunday night's installment. 1. Tyrion and Jon Look Concerned Tyrion Lannister and Jon Snow look worried. Maybe, like everyone else, they’re wondering why the hell the Khaleesi isn’t in any of this week’s promotional photos. 2. Sansa Looks Pissed Which has pretty much been her default state all season. Living with a sister who might want you dead can have that effect. 3. Littlefinger Looks Smug He’s probably the reason Sansa looks so pissed. The man has many talents, and irritating the hell out of everyone is certainly one of them. 4. Bran Sees Things We’re kind of surprised Team Stark has put Bran to better use this season. Seems like an all-knowing oracle would be a good thing to have around. 5. Cersei Is Pregnant And yes, she’ll continue to use that fact to her strategic advantage. She didn’t get to a spot on the Iron Throne by being soft. 6. Theon is Somehow Still Alive If you can call that living. Anyone else involuntarily shudder whenever this poor bastard’s onscreen? View Slideshow
