Lisa Colagrossi Dies; ABC Reporter Suffers Brain Hemorrhage While Covering Story

Lisa Colagrossi, a 49-year-old New York TV news reporter for WABC, has died after suffering a brain hemorrhage while covering a story on Thursday. The veteran TV news reporter and anchor was remembered for her professionalism, compassion and reliable reporting after her death in NYC. Fans and colleagues started sharing tributes within hours of the news. Even her hockey team, the New York Rangers, shared condolences on Twitter. To them, the death of a morning news fixture felt like losing a loved one, many said, a testament to the role of local news in an age of global media. Her employer, WABC said in a statement that “Thursday seemed like just another morning, with Lisa Colagrossi doing what she did so well, reporting live.” “She was an amazing reporter, committed to Eyewitness News. She was dedicated to telling a story with honesty, a working woman, a hockey mom.” “She was gutsy and fearless. We here at Eyewitness News are still in shock and we’re trying to cope with the loss of someone we loved and valued.” It’s what New York came to know and expect from Lisa Colagrossi: “authentic, steady, reassuring reporting,” the station continued of “the ultimate pro.” Journalist Colagrossi, they said, could seamlessly “go from tackling crimes to financial news; Lisa could find humor even at the expense of herself.” “She covered some of the biggest stories in the Tri-State for almost 14 years. She started working at WABC the Sunday after the World Trade Center disaster.” Like most journalists, she made a few stops on her way to New York, starting in her native Cleveland before moving onto Alabama, West Virginia and Orlando. In a news town that’s notoriously tough to break into, Colagrossi “out-hustled other New York reporters from the very beginning,” anchor Lori Stokes said. “It’s hard to imagine mornings without Lisa. Bobbi Kristina Brown: Is "Reality Sinking In" For Family?

Bobbi Kristina Brown’s family has given her every chance to battle for her life since she nearly drowned and was placed in a medically induced coma January 31. Will it be enough? Could time, prayer and sheer will help her overcome long odds and make a recovery? So far, she has yet to show many signs of progress. At this point, “reality is really sinking in,” a family source tells People . News broke earlier this week that the 22-year-old was moved from the hospital to a rehab facility in Atlanta, but not because she has shown improvement. Rather, the move was made because there is little more that the doctors at Emory University feel they can do, and they would have moved her sooner. Bobbi’s grief-stricken father Bobby Brown delayed the decision as he holds out hope for a miracle. Does the rehab move signal a change in attitude? “This hasn’t gotten any easier for him,” the source says of Bobby . “He really thought that she’d be better by now, that there would be some change … there hasn’t been any sign of improvement since this happened.” “We spent the first month in shock, you know? Rob Kardashian: Kim Kardashian is Like the "B-tch From Gone Girl!"

After weeks of silence, Rob Kardashian has re-surfaced on social media…and his family is probably already wishing he’d stayed silent. Moments ago, Rob (or someone pretending to be Rob) logged into his long-dormant Instagram account, unfollowed everybody (including his family members), and posted the photo on the left along with an alarming caption. “This is my sister Kim, the b-tch from Gone Girl,” Rob wrote. Yikes. If you’ve seen the film, you know what an unflattering comparison that is. If you haven’t, just know that Rosamund Pike’s character is a manipulative, narcissistic psychopath and not exactly an ideal wife to poor Ben Affleck. Rob just celebrated his 28th birthday last week, and his entire family (including Kim) offered him warm birthday wishes via social media.  So needless to say, this act of insta-ggression was unexpected, but not entirely shocking. Just days ago, his sister Khloe Kardashian attempted to justify his behavior to the press, explaining in an interview that Rob suffers from social anxiety. Last month, we reported that Jessa and Ben Seewald plan to adopt , in addition to having biological children. Based on their statements, it seemed that the Seewalds were hoping to to adopt first, procreate later. Sadly, Jessa and Ben were forced to put their adoption plans on hold upon learning that many agencies require that couples be married for two years before they can be considered for placement. But nothing can come between a Duggar and having a huge family, of course, and now it looks as though Jessa and Ben have decided to take matters into their own hands. Literally: The above photo surfaced today on a Facebook page devoted to Duggar family news. It looks like it’s an outtake from a photoshoot for Jessa and Ben’s official announcement. This being 2015, of course, someone seems to have gotten a hold of an unused pic and broken the big news a little early. Brooks Ayers Cancer Battle: Will Vicki Gunvalson’s Boyfriend Pull Through?

Vicki Gunvalson and Brooks Ayers are very much back together, but his health prospects are much more up in the air than their romantic status. The Real Housewives of Orange County stars have been living together as Brooks battles cancer , but he tells Radar that the arduous battle continues. According to Brooks, chemotherapy treatments to treat his “aggressive” cancer (Stage 3 Non-Hodgkins lymphoma) don’t seem to be having any effect. “I am sick,” Ayers, who has battled the illness since 2013, admitted. “I do feel bad, but it’s mind over matter a lot of times. You gotta stay the course.” Six months of chemotherapy and a largely liquid-based diet later, Gunvalson’s live-in boyfriend says he was hoping things would have improved by now. “When the test results came back, the numbers haven’t changed substantially,” he revealed. “They haven’t gotten worse, but they haven’t gotten better.” “That was kind of disheartening, to be honest with you.” “ I’m not so sure my body is responding to chemotherapy ,” he admitted. “At least the cocktail that I was doing. I’m not sure it responded like it needed to.” Ayers says he’s faced with three options, starting with an “aggressive form of chemotherapy” that would mean 3-4 days a week of treatment for months. It’s that, an experimental stem cell transplant, or a holistic approach, which one of their Real Housewives of Orange County co-stars is helping him with. “Shannon Beador’s been very much in our corner, putting us in contact with a lot of unbelievable world-renowned holistic physicians,” he said. “We’re exploring that and with that would come no chemo. It would be addressing and taking what I’ve been doing with the holistic diet and an infrared sauna.” “It’s just assessing what my mentality, my body responds to and it’s been quite a daunting mental task,” the reality star admits, but he still has Vicki. That, more than anything, gets him through the day these days. “She keeps me up and going and it’s been good rather than just routine, monotonous life. That’s not what we’re about. So it’s been very good from that perspective.” If you watch The Real Housewives of Orange County online , you know Brooks has always been polarizing, but life’s latest turn has changed his outlook. He says he will be back on the show, and is excited for it. Kate Gosselin Leaves Kids With Teenage Babysitter For a WEEK Rather Than Let Jon Watch Them

Earlier this week, documents from a 2010 custody hearing detailed the child abuse allegations against Kate Gosselin . Now, more leaks from the same hearing reveal that Kate has so little faith in Jon Gosselin’s parenting abilities that she would rather leave her six youngest children under the care of a teenage babysitter for a week than with their father. “Recently, Mother traveled with the two older children for six days and left the six younger in the care of a 19-year-old babysitter,” claimed attorneys for Jon.  “Father was available, however, Mother refused to allow children to stay with Father and/or allow Father to stay in her home with her children.” To make matters worse, Kate reportedly instructed the sitter to forbid the kids from having any contact with Jon: “Mother has also instructed her babysitters that they are not to contact Father and/or accept phone calls from Father.” This latest information comes on the heels of Kate being investigated by child services for her allegedly abusive and neglectful parenting.  As we’ve previously reported, Kate has instructed her nannies to spy on her ex and listen in on phone calls between Jon and her kids. There’s no word on if the anonymous 19-year-old received such instructions. Just earlier today new allegations surfaced regarding Kate’s alleged abuse of her son Collin . All of this is unlikely to result in any charges against Kate or any changes in her custody arrangement. It’s just further proof that Kate is a really, really bad mom. Robert Durst Left Cat’s Head On Judge’s Doorstep, Victim Claims

The strange case of Robert Durst continues to get more bizarre by the day. On March 14, Durst was arrested in connection with the 2001 death of his friend Susan Berman. He has since been charged with first-degree murder , meaning that he could face the death penalty if convicted. In the days following his arrest, those who knew Durst best  – or simply encountered him during the decades-long period in which he somehow managed to avoid prosecution – have come forward with strange stories of the real estate heir’s troubling behavior. Earlier this week, Douglas Durst stated that he believes his brother killed seven pet dogs as “practice” before allegedly murdering his wife Kathleen McCormack in 1982. Today, Durst has been accused of another disturbing act of animal mutilation by the former judge who presided over the 2003 trial in which Durst was acquitted of the murder of Morris Black. In an interview with the New York Daily News, Susan Criss recalls making a horrific discovery outside of her home, three years after Durst’s trial concluded. “It was June 29, 2006,” Criss tells the newspaper. “I came home from work around 5 pm, and you can imagine how hot it was. I saw something on the walk that leads straight to my front door. “It was a little gray cat that had been cut behind the shoulders. It was a head with its two front legs…It was not just thrown there, it was placed there. “I believe it was Robert Durst. I know this guy had a history of cutting up his dogs.” Criss says she first ran inside to make sure that Durst had not harmed her dogs. She then called local police, who performed several tests, but were unable to prove that Durst had killed the cat. Criss says she believes Durst left the head as revenge for her testifying against him at his parole hearing. Rihanna has been making the media rounds to promote her new animated film, Home, and she recently sat down for a Time magazine interview alongside co-stars Jim Parsons and Steve Martin. When questioned about her favorite film as a child, RiRi answered with the Disney classic Beauty and the Beast. When Justin Bieber apologized to his fans in a recent self-recorded video, it ushered in the era of the kinder, gentler Biebs. Yesterday, Justin referred to himself as a “douche bag” and promised to change his ways during an appearance on Ellen, and he’s even been exchanging pleasantries with the same paparazzi who used to send him into fits of rage. Perhaps he’s trying to rescue his public image, or maybe he’s discovered a mellower strain of weed. Hell, maybe he really just woke up one day and realized he’d been acting like a world-class knob for the entirety of his adult life. Whatever the case, Justin’s spent the last few years stomping around Hollywood in sneakers that cost more than your car, and he’s left a long trail of destruction in his wake. As much as he might want to make things right, Bieber may not be able to escape his past as easily as he had hoped. Remember when Justin egged his neighbor’s house ? It was just one of many idiotic decisions JB made in 2014, and he probably thought he’d be able to put the incident behind him after shelling out (no pun intended) $80,000 for repairs. But now the victim, a Calabasas resident named Jeff Schwartz, is suing for emotional distress, claiming that months before the egging, Bieber and his bodyguards hurled epithets at him and his wife, resulting in emotional distress. In the suit, obtained by TMZ, Schwartz recalls an incident in which he politely asked Bieber to stop racing his Ferrari through the neighborhood. He says Bieber cursed at him, and one of his bodyguards threateningly shouted, “What are you gonna do about it, Jew boy?” Yikes. Sounds like Justin has a lot more atoning to do before he can move on.
