Beth Chapman: I Don’t Care If I’m Dying! I’m Still Fighting Crime!

Earlier this year, Beth Chapman revealed her new wig — a symbol of her fight for her life against cancer. The Dog The Bounty Hunter star and wife of the man himself beat cancer once, but her odds are not considered very good right now. In a new interview, her husband reveals that she has a plan to spend the rest of her life working by his side. In a tearful interview with DailyMailTV , Duane “Dog The Bounty Hunter” Chapman explains how the love of his life is preparing to die. “She has told me repeatedly,” Chapman reveals. “That if these are her last days on earth she wants to spend every moment with me.” He adds that she wants to spend those days “on the hunt.” That is, in pursuit of fugitives. Beth wants to spend her time “living life to the fullest.” “And,” Chapman adds. “Enjoying the time we have left together.” “The best part of my job,” Chapman says. “Is having her by my side on every journey.” Of course. “I can’t imagine a day without her,” he confesses. That is so heartbreaking. “And,” he continues. “Think deep down inside she is always concerned for my safety.” Chapman explains that Beth has these concerns “because she wants the security of knowing I come home to her every night.” “If this were me,” Chapman confesses, speaking of how he would act if he had cancer. “I would be a big sissy.” By context, it is clear that he does not mean that term in a perjorative manner towards any group of people. “But,” he says proudly. “Not Beth.” Speaking of is wife, Chapman says: “She is still hitting the ground running with me.” “Beth is determined cancer won’t slow her down,” he praises. “In fact,” Chapman notes. “I am so amazed by Beth’s strength and positive attitude.” “My baby has cancer,” Chapman laments. But he once again praises her strength and resolve, adding: “and she is fighting like hell.” Chapman himself, despite his tough guy image, is unafraid to admit that this situation has him in real emotional distress. “I have cried a lot over this,” he confesses. Chapman explains that he is terrified of the worst “because Beth is my everything.” “Despite all of the obstacles I have overcome,” Chapman expresses. “This is by far the biggest test of my life.” “And mark my words,” he vows. “I will not let her die.” “She is my rock and my bodyguard,” Chapman says, heaping further praises upon his wife. He concludes by vowing: “I will do everything I can to keep her here.” While we can all hope for the best, we know that sometimes, everything you can isn’t enough to change things. It doesn’t matter you may think of the Chapmans as people or of the archaic laws that still allow bounty hunting. This isn’t about their job or their controversies or politics. This is about Beth’s life. At present, doctors say that she has about a 50% chance of survival against the throat cancer that returned last year. Shenandoah Williams: Young and Pregnant Star Posts Insane Anti-Vax Rant

Shenandoah “Shen” Williams made a splash on Young and Pregnant , and she has continued to speak her mind on social media. There is more to her than being Bariki’s mom or feuding with Ashley. Unfortunately, not all of it is good. In a ranting post filled to the brim with wild conspiracy theories, Shen is screaming her anti-vax views to the heavens. On her private Instagram, Shenandoah posted a lengthy status, railing against vaccinations and against policies designed to curb outbreaks. “OK,” Shen begins. “So New York won’t let non-vaccinated kids in public after measles outbreak.” That new policy has been widely applauded because of how many children it will protect. “But once you get vaccinated,” she asks. “Are you not protected?” Shen goes on to declare that the entire vaccination situation is “bulls–t.” “They are so stupid,” Shen accuses. She then explains why she thinks that potential plaguebearers should be allowed to mingle with other children. “If vaccines protect you,” she suggests. “You should not have to worry about being infected right?” She then takes things in a much wilder direction, and gives voice to some real nonsense. Shen writes that she suspects that the “government is killing us.” Shen then lists a startling example to illustrate her conspiracy theory. “Like this HIV vaccine,” Shen suggests. We’ll share our guess as to what she means, but … unless we missed some major medical news, there is no confirmed HIV vaccine in existence. “You have to wear condoms,” she says, adding: “Get tested every three months and still be at risk.” “So,” Shen asks her fans and followers. “What do you think they are actually putting in us and our children?” Oh boy. “So now,” Shen expresses. “If we don’t put poison in our kids bodies.” Point of fact: the government actively discourages putting poison in a child’s body. There are even laws about it! But Shen clarifies that, when she refers to “poison,” she is referring to “vaccines that don’t work anyway.” (No part of that is true) “Our kids can’t be treated like the others,” Shen laments. “WTF are they really putting in us if the s–t don’t work?” she asks. Shen then asks: “Why get vaccines if you are still at risk?” “S–t don’t make sense to me,” she confesses. Notably, she could have googled those two questions and saved herself some embarrassment. Finally, Shenandoah tweets the tag: “#populationcontrol.” That was a wild ride from start to finish. To quickly address Shenandoah’s wild misunderstandings. First of all, not everyone can be vaccinated. Some people have allergies or compromised immune systems. These individuals rely upon herd immunity . That is, if they never come into contact with anyone who could even cary an illness, they cannot contract it. Often, these children are kids who are undergoing chemo for childhood cancer, or who have just beaten cancer. It’s a pretty sick twist for a kid to survive brutal cancer and then catch and potentially die of a totally preventable disease. But it has happened, even recently, because of outbreaks caused by anti-vaxxers. When she refers to an HIV vaccine — a thing that the entire world would celebrate if it existed — she may mean PrEP. That is an antiviral that, if taken regularly, can significantly reduce the risk of contracting HIV. While that is an ideal medicine for people who are at risk for HIV, there have been a couple of people who have contracted HIV anyway. it is, and we cannot emphasize this enough, not a vaccine. Vitamin C is not a vaccine against colds. Neither can be cited to “prove” that vaccines don’t work. Finally, her population “control” theory doesn’t fly. People in many countries have declining birthrates because of economic, environmental, and social factors. No part of her bonkers rant holds any water. Kris Humphries Swears His Marriage to Kim Kardashian Was Real

Kris Humphries would like you to know two important things about him: 1. He’s still alive. 2. He was totally and completely in love with Kim Kardashian. So the former power forward stated for The Players Tribune record in a surprising essay he penned this week. In a lengthy piece titled “I Never Wanted to Be That Guy,” Humphries opens up about his athletic past, his basketball career, his poor attitude over the years — and, yes, of course, his very brief marriage to Ray J’s former sex tape partner. (For those somehow unaware, Humphries and Kardashian were married for 72 days  back in 2011. Yes, 72 days. Due to the hilariously short length of this union, most observers have assumed that the relationship was a complete farce. They’ve assumed it was a mere PR stunt meant to bring the couple attention and money before they went their separate ways. But Humphries insists, all this time later, that there was nothing phony about the romance at all. “I met a girl who happened to be really famous, and I got married, and.…. Damn,” writes Kris in this article, adding that he “should have known what I was getting into” with Kardashian, and yet: “I was definitely naive about how much my life was going to change. But the one thing that really bothers me is whenever people say that my marriage was fake.” There’s plenty about the Kardashian universe that is not “entirely real,” explains Humphries, who should know because he appeared on plenty of Keeping Up with the Kardashians episodes. But his feelings for Kim? The vows they exchanged? His hopes and dreams for their future? “Our actual relationship was 100% real,” he emphasizes here, expounding as follows: “When it was clear that it wasn’t working … what can I say? It sucked. “It’s never easy to go through the embarrassment of something like that — with your friends, with your family…. But when it plays out so publicly, in front of the world, it’s a whole other level. It was brutal.” Kris and Kim were all over the tabloids back then, with accusations of infidelity leveled against both parties and ugly rumors spreading about the relationship across the Internet. Continues Humphries: “I didn’t know how to handle it, because I never thought I was going to be famous in that way. “I remember having this moment when I was getting booed so hard in Philly, and I thought to myself, “Why exactly are they booing me, though? Is it just because I’m That Guy from TV? “Do they think I was trying to be famous? Is it because they think I disrespected the game of basketball?” Humphries played in 800 career games and averaged 6.7 points and 5.4 rebounds. He was a perfectly solid rotation player who played for eight teams. The Minnesota native exceled in college and only ever wanted “to be known for basketball,” he writes in this piece. But that hasn’t been the case for almost a decade now. “There was about a year where I was in a dark place,” he says of the divorce proceedings. “I didn’t want to leave my home. You feel like … I don’t know … the whole world hates you, but they don’t even know why. They don’t even know you at all. They just recognize your face, and they’re on you.” Humphries would even lie and tell strangers on the street that he was someone else when they approached him. It was really tough for awhile. “I didn’t want to be Kris Humphries,” he says, adding: “It’s the craziest feeling in the world, not wanting to be yourself. And I didn’t even want to say anything to defend myself, because it felt like I couldn’t win. You can’t go up against the tabloids. You can’t go up against that machine. There’s no point. “And even if I played that game, I felt like it would be disrespecting the game of basketball.” As for whether he’d ever get back together with Kim, who is married to Kanye West and who has three children? Humphries has already answered that question. And we’re sorry to break it to you, Kim .

Elisabeth Hasselbeck: I Prayed When I Learned Rosie O’Donnell Had a Crush on Me

Recently, Rosie O'Donnell confessed that she had a crush on Elisabeth Hasselbeck during their cohosting days on The View . Hasselbeck went on Fox & Friends and responded: “I read it and I immediately started praying.” She said similar things in an appearance on The View , and is getting dragged for coming across as downright homophobic. First, here were Rosie O'Donnell's exact words in her book,  Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of the View . Reportedly, in order to quash rumors that she and Hasselbeck were enemies back in the day, Rosie … overcorrected. She says that she “loved” her conservative cohost and admitted that she had “a little bit of a crush” on her. Rosie then suggested that there were “underlying lesbian tones on both [of their] parts” while they were on  The View . She then made reference to Hasselbeck's past as a softball player, implying Hasselbeck may not be entirely straight herself. Hasselbeck appeared on both Fox & Friends and The View to respond to Rosie's statements. Sunny Hostin asked Hasselbeck about this as she assumed the role of guest host on  The View . “That's the breath of the Holy Spirit,” Hasselbeck responds. “Like please, Holy Spirit, work through me right now, so I don't answer my own mind.” “This needs to be addressed both truthfully and … maybe where I wouldn't have addressed it with grace some years past,” Hasselbeck admits. When you finish hearing her response, you wonder how much worse it would have been years ago. “One,” Hasselbeck says. “I think what she said was reckless. Untrue.” That sounds fine, until she says: “Not only insulting — disturbing.” Hasselbeck tries to spin it, saying: “When it comes to … how she felt about somebody in the workplace.” “That somebody happened to be me,” she says. “But if you replace what Rosie said, and you take her name out, and you put in … 'Robert.'” “Then we would be in a situation where you would see the objectification of a woman in the workplace,” Hasselbeck claims. “And that's disturbing,” Hasselbeck claims. “Because when we may be really against that from a man to a woman.” “You don't get a pass because you're a lesbian,” she suggests. “The feeling was not mutual,” Hasselbeck insists. “But I did respect her as a cohost.” She adds: “As I think it should happen in all workplaces.” She emphasizes that, in very religious terms, she forgives Rosie for her statements. “Secondly,” Hasselbeck continues. “I think what she says about female athletes …” “If you're an athletic girl,” she says. “And you're competitive and you're gritty …” “It's a lie and it's reckless to attach a sexuality to that,” Hasselbeck asserts. “And I think it's selfish on her part,” she accuses. “And I would say it to my friend.” “Just because you're athletic,” Hasselbeck concludes. “Doesn't have anything to do with your sexual preference.” One, having a crush on a coworker and admitting it many, many years later is not the same thing as objectification. It should not in any way be equated with workplace sexual harassment. If Rosie had made lewd anatomical comments about Hasselbeck, or made it an issue while they were on  The View , that would be different. But as Joy Behar correctly points out, Rosie's comment about having a crush was not lewd or inappropriate. Hasselbeck refers to an alleged reference to Rosie trying to “take her under her wing.” Unless Hasselbeck is accusing Rosie of inappropriate behavior during their time on  The View , then it doesn't sound like anything inappropriate went down. Second of all, Hasselbeck is wrong to equate a crush from a woman to a crush from a man. Many lesbians are inundated with the idea that they are “predatory” by being attracted to women. That is massively unfair. In contrast — and I'm a dude writing this — we all know that, historically, men with crushes are much more likely to make it a problem. Anyway, there are non-homophobic ways of saying that you're straight. It would have been cool if Elisabeth Hasselbeck had found one of those instead of immediately resorting to prayer and stereotypes. However, Hasselbeck is absolutely right about one thing — and we don't say that often. Assuming that a person is gay because of their profession or hobby or degree of athleticism is absolutely wrong. It's misleading and, while not  insulting , certainly unfair. While softball is stereotypically associated with lesbians, stereotypes are inherently demeaning and dehumanizing. Rosie should know better than to perpetuate that kind of talk. Our favorite part of this whole dang interview was Meghan McCain telling Hasselbeck she's “been a fan of you my entire life.” Hasselbeck is only 7 years older than Meghan. If you ever really want to hurt the feelings of someone young enough to be your sibling, tell them that you've been a fan of them “your whole life.” We don't think that Meghan meant any offense by that.

Wendy Williams Relapses, Gets Rushed to Hospital in Wake of Husband Cheating Scandal

Things have gone from bad to worse for Wendy Williams. And now the talk show host appears to be in legitimate trouble. According to The Daily Mail, Williams was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday after she suffered a relapse just one day after numerous outlets reported that her husband’s mistress had given birth to a baby. That’s a confusing sentence, we know. But Kevin Hunter, who has been married to Williams since 1997 and who shares an 18-year old son with the television personality, has allegedly been having an affair with a woman named Sharina Hudson for years. This has been an ongoing rumor for as long as we can remember — and it’s something Williams has even remarked upon to her viewers. She’s never really come out and denied the affair; she’s simply said she remains committed to her marriage. But then Hudson reportedly welcomed Hunter’s child on Monday and this, understandably, was enough to send Williams into a tailspin. The aforementioned publication writes that Williams was given an IV bag that contained vitamins and minerals at the hospital after members of her team found her highly intoxicated. It’s unclear exactly what state Williams was discovered in… but it was clearly a troubled one. “She was in a bad way and disappeared from the studio after her show Monday,” a source told the Daily Mail website, adding: “She went back to the sober house only to check herself out and decided to start drinking.” Indeed, Williams admitted to her audience just last week that she was living in this sort of facility after a previous recent relapse. You can watch her talk in emotional detail about the decision to check into a sober house in the footage below, which includes a reference to her husband: Wendy Williams Breaks Down, Reveals: I’m Living in a Sober House Continues The Daily Mail insider: “It’s not clear where she went [on Monday], but she headed in the direction of her home in Jersey and managed to find alcohol along the way. “Word got back to the studio and there was panic and concern, everyone was looking for her, no one knew whether there would be a show today. “She was eventually found and was drunk, she was immediately taken to the hospital.” At least she’s now safe and hopefully receiving the help she desperately needs. Williams was spotted on the street yesterday without her wedding ring on, perhaps as a sign that she’s finally prepared to walk away from Hunter. As mentioned above and depicted above, Williams opened the March 19 episode of her morning talk show by telling her fans she had been staying in a sober living facility while she battles her addiction. “You know me for being a very open and truthful person and I’ve got more to the story for you,” she said, prior to delving into the details as follows: “You know [my husband] Kevin [Hunter] and I have The Hunter Foundation for the good of the people. We recently launched our 888-5 HUNTER number for those of you caught up in the struggle of addiction. “Well, for some time now, and even today and beyond, I have been living in a sober house. “When you see me come to work glammed up, right after the show I go across the street, I do my Pilates. I told you – two hours a day or [so], to take care of my body… “You know I’ve had a struggle with cocaine in my past. I never went to a place to get the treatment. I don’t know how, except God was sitting on my shoulder and I just stopped.” Hunter has said very little about his alleged affair and also about Wendy in general, but he did speak out about her sober living facility move , referring to her addiction and hopeful recovery as a “family process.” Those close to Wendy are praying Kevin won’t be a member of her family for much longer, however. “Wendy is considering divorcing Kevin,” says The Daily Mail, concluding: “She’s really distraught over the situation, she knew about Sharina but didn’t think a baby would arrive. She didn’t think Kevin would go this far, she’s lost and everyone is worried for her.” We don’t like what Williams sometimes says on her show, but we do wish her the best in this case. About once a month, the never-ending feud between Kailyn Lowry and Jenelle Evans rears its ugly head. Normally, when two reality stars are so continually getting on each other's nerves, we chalk it up to scripted drama. But in the case of Jenelle and Kail, that doesn't seem to be the case. These two aren't even filming at the moment, and they almost never share screen time. Nevertheless, they're continually locking horns on social media, and this time, Kail's ex-husband and one of her best friends are involved. Take a look:   1. Mike Sorrentino: Loving Life Behind Bars?!

It’s been over two months since Mike Sorrentino reported to prison to begin serving an eight-month sentence on tax fraud charges. Through his YouTube channel and his wife Lauren, Mike has been able to keep fans updated on the challenges he’s facing behind bars. Obviously, prison is a less than ideal situation for The Situation, but it seems Sorrentino is making the most of it. He’s even been able to continue in his humanitarian efforts by helping Ronnie Ortiz-Magro to get sober through email correspondence. We’re sure the food is insufficient to satisfy Mike’s famously prodigious appetite, but other than that, it seems the Jersey Shore star is making the most of his time on the inside. “Mike says he is being treated like a king in there and that he is actually having a good time,” one insider tells Radar Online. Amazingly, the source says he’s not surprised that Mike has been able to find something positive in his current predicament. “Mike can make a good situation out of anything. So it’s not super shocking,” he says. And how has Mike been passing the time during his tenure at Otisville Correctional Facility? Well, in classic prison fashion, he’s been pumping iron — in fact, those who know Mike best say the famous Situation abs are beginning to re-emerge. On top of that, Mike has been focused on getting his story down on paper. “Mike has been keeping an extensive diary, and has been writing about his experiences every day,” says the insider. Sorrentino apparently has plans to turn his experiences into a book, but he’s well aware that penning a bestseller might be beyond his abilities. “He is just taking notes in his diary for someone else to write it,” the source claims. The bad news is, Mike’s not even halfway through his sentence, and he’ll remain locked through the entire summer of 2019. The good news is, if he keeps his nose clean, Sorrentino could be sprung by late September! Leah Messer: Daughter Says N-Word in Shocking New Video!

Leah Messer … let’s be honest, the girl used to be an absolute mess. Like, there was a time she was one of the most troubled Teen Mom stars, and that time wasn’t all that long ago. As she explained in a recent interview , she had some health problems after giving birth to her youngest daughter, Addie, the one she shares with Jeremy Calvert. She had a c-section that went wrong somehow, and she was prescribed painkillers, and you probably see where this is going. Leah developed a bit of an addiction, so much that she sometimes resorted to getting the painkillers from her father instead of from her doctor. She also developed anxiety about the pain she was feeling, so she was prescribed Valium, which is another addictive drug. Teen Mom 2 fans will remember those scenes when Leah nodded off mid-conversation — she said that was because of the Valium. Around this time period, she also lost custody of her older daughters , Gracie and Ali, to their father, Corey Simms. This was because she was struggling to get them to school on time, but on the show, we saw the girls complain about her not having any food in the house and sending them to school hungry. Like we said, it was a bad time. In 2015, she went to rehab to deal with her addiction and anxiety , and she’s really managed to turn things around. She seems like an entirely different person than she was back then, and it’s been wonderful to see. That’s kind of why it’s extra upsetting to see her in the middle of a brand new mess. OK, so last week, Addie was in the hospital , and she was diagnosed with mono. Leah and Jeremy shared some photos and videos of her in her hospital room, and she was just as goofy as ever, even while sick. And it really looks like she’s not letting mono hold her down, because yesterday, Leah posted another video on Instagram Live, this one of Addie bouncing around on a bed and singing along to a Cardi B song. The song had the N-word in it … you know the one. And Addie said it. She hesitated a bit, which is almost worst, because it shows that she knows she probably shouldn’t say it, but she definitely said it. We don’t have to explain why white people don’t need to be saying that word, do we? Even six-year-old white people singing along to Cardi B. But it happened. Addie said it, Leah watched it, she recorded it, then she put it on Instagram for her two million followers to watch it. It’s just not a great situation. If you’re having trouble understanding why that is, let’s look at some comments about the video from the fine folks over at Reddit. As one person wrote, “She should not be listening to explicit music (specifically music with the N word in it, when she’s probably way too young to understand what it means/why she shouldn’t say it!) and it certainly shouldn’t be filmed and put out there like this.” “Tacky as hell for a 6 year old to even be rapping along to crap like Cardi B, let alone using the n word like nothing,” another comment read. “And even tackier of Leah’s dumb ass to be posting this crap for millions of people to see.” One Reddit user called this “awful parenting,” and explained that “It’s a popular song and I understand kids will sing it in school etc. but the VERY least you can do is let them listen to the clean version.” “I’m obviously not gonna drag Addie for singing the n word (she doesn’t know the meaning) but how is Leah so dumb that she’d post her kid singing along to cuss words and raunchy music?” another person asked. Really, Leah should have known better at several different points here. Khloe Kardashian: I Couldn’t Make Tristan Thompson Love Me, But Boy, I Tried!

Khloe Kardashian still seems to be having quite a difficult time with her split from Tristan Thompson. And on one hand, we get it. He’s the father of True, her daughter, who still isn’t even a year old yet, and Khloe thought he’d be her husband one day, too. She thought that if she could work through that first cheating scandal , the one from when she was pregnant, it would all be good and she’d have the family she always wanted. So yes, of course she’s still struggling now, a little over a month after she dumped him . But on the other hand, Tristan is a garbage human being and it’s hard to imagine not full-out celebrating his departure from her life, you know? Last month, Tristan did something with Jordyn Woods, Kylie Jenner’s former best friend and friend to the Kardashian family as well. Jordyn insisted that he just kissed her , but other people have claimed that they’ve hooked up multiple times. Whatever happened, it was enough for Khloe to finally kick him to the curb, and since then, she’s been filling her days with caring for precious little True. That, and making cryptic posts about the whole thing on social media. Yesterday, she took that last part a step further by basically publishing an essay on Instagram. She kicked off her piece with a quote that read “Letting go doesn’t mean that you don’t care about someone anymore. It’s just realizing that the only person you really have control over is yourself.” Then she got into her thoughts on the matter. “Letting go with love takes great strength,” she wrote. “We have to learn to stop taking on people’s problems as if they are our own.” “Loving people does not mean we have to carry their burdens and confusions on our back.” “Sadly,” she continued, “you can only express your opinion on a situation. You can’t want their life more than the do.” “This is in fact their life to figure out on their own and in their own time.” She said that she does “believe in time,” and that she also believes that “timing is everything.” “You forcing your beliefs and dreams down ones throat is only going to cause resentment and possibly manifest deeper issues. Possibly to the point of no return.” Here Khloe added another quote, this one that says “People say time heals all wounds … I say time heals wounds but scars are left to remind you what you have been through and what you survived.” “Stop shattering our own heart by trying to make a relationship (friend, family partner) work that clearly isn’t meant to work,” she advised. “We have to stop trying to repaint people’s colors. We have to learn to believe the love we AREN’T given.” “You can’t love someone into loving you,” she wrote, adding “God I wish it were that easy.” “You can’t force someone to be loyal, kind, understanding. You can’t force someone to be the person you need them to be. Even if it’s for their own good!!” Summing up a lesson she’s learned the hard way, she told her followers that “Sometimes the person you want the most is the person you’re best without.” “You have to understand … some things ARE supposed to happen in your life, but they just are NOT meant to be.” “Damn … It took me so many years to understand that,” she complained. She then went on about how “God always has a plan even if we can’t understand it,” and that “Even in the darkest of places, our Lord sees His vision.” “We might not understand it at the moment but I promise you, your future will always bring understanding & clarity of why things didn’t work out,” she insisted. “Don’t put your happiness on hold for someone (family, friend, partner) who isn’t holding on to you.” She finished things up with one more quote: “Be careful when trying to fix a broken person. For you may cut yourself on their shattered pieces.” So she’s obviously directing all of this towards Tristan right now, but if you think any of this sounds familiar, it’s because this isn’t the first time she’s posted this. This is actually from a post she originally made in 2016, probably when things were getting hard with Lamar Odom again after his miraculous recovery from his overdose. Jon Walters Claps Back at Troll: Rachel Wouldn’t Abandon Her Daughter!

90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days stars John Walters and Rachel Bear are husband and wife and counting down the days until their reunion. In the mean time, however, one of their so-called “fans” had the audacity to suggest that they not bother waiting. The troll suggested that Rachel abandon her young daughter to be with Jon. Both parents are clapping back. Jon and Rachel are still two weeks away from their long-anticipated reunion. One follower got tired of their eagerness and made a truly heartless suggestion on Rachel’s Instagram. “Just relocate to the U.K,” the comment begins. “Your older daughter will join you later,” the comment reads. “Or you’ll be reunited with her when Jon gets his visa,” the comment concludes. You’d think that the person was suggesting that Rachel find a new place to store her furniture during a move. Rachel saw that horrifying suggestion and thoroughly rejected it. “I will never ever ever ever leave my daughter behind,” Rachel emphasizes in response. It is clear that she’s not just mortified by the “advice.” She’s insulted that anyone would ever think that she would just leave her very young daughter for months at a time. Rachel is an adult. She can wait. What she cannot do is miss months of her daughter’s life on a whim. Jon saw that comment and lashed out at trolls in a more general sense. “Miserable trolls actually think they can cause pain,” Jon observes. He writes that they try to cause anguish “by being mean and ridiculing us for how we look or our relationship or the fact we’re not wealthy.” He and Rachel have been viciously criticized along these lines, but so have countless others. “But,” Jon says. “I know for an absolute fact we have more heart and courage than they will ever have.” Jon continues, writing “that they will never love or be loved the way we do.” “They are miserable people,” Jon asserts. Yes, in ever sense of the word. Jon concludes by describing these trolls as people “who are either alone or they settled.” It may sound like he’s just hurling insults back as his attackers … but he’s not wrong. As Jon explains, trolls are people who try to feel better about themselves and more powerful by hurting others. If they can ruin a stranger’s day, or better yet a celebrity’s, that makes them feel more in control. Even without a reaction, they use nasty comments to vent. It’s another way of making themselves feel better. Jon, a man who grew up having to get into physical fights in his neighborhood in order to avoid becoming a victim of violence himself, understands powerlessness. But that’s never an excuse to lash out at others. That is a lesson that Jon learned for himself. From day one, Rachel and Jon have done everything that they can to make sure to accommodate for Rachel’s daughter. They haven’t waited all of this time to just ditch that. There are people in this world who would abandon their young child with a relative to go spend months with a man they love. Rachel is not a monster. She wouldn’t do that.
