So she beat her HARD and posted a video of THAT on Facebook: Mom BEATS Daughter This was not your run-of-the-mill beating, either. Helen Bartlett whipped her offspring with a strap for several minutes, causing the video to go viral and spark a heated debate over corporal punishment. Some viewers support the mom’s actions, while others are appalled, for obvious reasons – and this isn’t even the full-length video she put online. She says she beat her daughter for posting underwear photos and sexting, and did it to keep her off the streets and stop her from getting pregnant. Noble goals, to be sure … but seriously? They said she was a good mother who just wanted to protect them, reassuring viewers that her mom loves her and she has no intention of killing herself. She hasn’t, however, been back to school. By now, even non-sports fans know who Donald Sterling is: He’s the bigoted billionaire who owns the Los Angeles Clippers and who doesn’t believe a respectable white person should be seen in public with an African-American . But what about V. Stiviano, the woman who taped many conversations with Sterling and who is at the center of this race-based scandal? Who the heck is this person?!? Only 31, Stiviano was born Maria Vanessa Perez. She spent years telling folks that she served as Sterling’s “archivist,” denying talk that she was the 80-year old’s girlfriend. But TMZ has obtained court documents – filed this month in conjunction with a lawsuit against Stiviano, in which Sterling’s wife accuses her of duping the owner out of millions of dollars – that tell a different story. Donald Sterling Racist Recording In these legal papers, Stiviano admits that she’s been involved personally with Sterling for years. The relationship is undefined, but Stiviano says it was “neither [a] hidden, closeted, nor a clandestine ‘affair’ at any time,” adding it was “open notorious, obvious and long standing.” V. Stiviano also refers to herself as a prop to show off Sterling’s “sexual prowess.” And, in the end apparently, also a prop to show off his extreme racism. Sterling and Stiviano are reportedly working on a settlement that will stop the leaking of these damaging recordings. Insiders say Stiviano is in possession of hundreds of hours worth of tapes, each depicting Donald Sterling as an awful human being, and that she’s willing to accept money in exchange for keeping the rest quiet.

Craig Ferguson announced during a taping of The Late Late Show today that he will leave the program in December. “CBS and I are not getting divorced, we are ‘ consciously uncoupling ,’” Ferguson joked. “But we will still spend holidays together and share custody of the fake horse and robot skeleton, both of whom we love very much.” David Letterman of course, announced his own retirement (effective in 2015) earlier this month, with Stephen Colbert named as his replacement . Some believe Ferguson is upset over not being considered for the 11:35 p.m. gig. “During his 10 years as host, Craig has elevated CBS to new creative and competitive heights at 12:30,” said Nina Tassler, Chairman, CBS Entertainment. “He infused the broadcast with tremendous energy, unique comedy, insightful interviews and some of the most heartfelt monologues seen on television.” Added Tassler: “Craig’s versatile talents as a writer, producer, actor and comedian speak to his great days ahead. Donald Sterling has issued a statement in response to the leaked audio tape that makes him sound like a horrible, horrible racist. The recording is of Sterling – the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers – berating his girlfriend of appearing in public with African-Americans, referring to her as “stupid” for thinking skin color doesn’t matter. “It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you’re associating with black people,” Sterling says to V. Stiviano at one point in the nine-minute tape. Donald Sterling Racist Rant As a rebuttal, Sterling and the Clippers organization say via statement: “We have heard the tape on TMZ. We do not know if it is legitimate or it has been altered.” The statement goes on to paint Stiviano in a negative light. “We do know that the woman on the tape — who we believe released it to TMZ — is the defendant in a lawsuit brought by the Sterling family, alleging that she embezzled more than $1.8 million, who told Mr. Sterling that she would ‘get even.” It continues: “Mr. Sterling is emphatic that what is reflected on that recording is not consistent with, nor does it reflect his views, beliefs or feelings. It is the antithesis of who he is, what he believes and how he has lived his life.
