Blackhawks Fan Catches Stanley Cup Fever, Earns Facebook Fame With Math Test Answer

Third grader Maggie Ciara has a serious case of Stanley Cup fever, as evidenced by an answer the Chicago Blackhawks fan put on a recent math test. The question: “What is 9 times 9?” The answer? Hossa. Marian Hossa wears No. 81 for her favorite NHL team. As you can see, her Oak Lawn, Ill., teacher was baffled. What is this? The best part? After seeing that she didn’t get it, Maggie clarified it for her teacher, Christine Mech … who gave her full credit and an A+ overall. “Maggie is a very clever girl,” said Mech, who actually is a Blackhawks fan herself. “I love how Maggie has a sense of humor. We had a little bit of a laugh afterward.” Also awesome? After Maggie’s mom, Diane, posted a photo of the exam on Facebook, the NHL team itself “Liked” it and posted it on its official page too. Hockey. It’s always the right answer. Although the numbers aren’t looking quite as good for Chicago, which trails Detroit 3-1 in the conference semifinals.

Justin Bieber Featured on Anti-Minimum Wage Increase Billboard

Justin Bieber is featured on a billboard in Los Angeles. For a local tattoo parlor? For a new album? For the Chris Brown Fan Club ? Nope. For MinimumWage.com, an organization that believes a raise in the minimum wage will discourage business owners from hiring, which will negatively affect the unemployment rate among today’s youth. Reads the sign: “Why is Justin Bieber so sad? Could it be because 24% of teens who want a job can’t find one?” We’re guessing it’s because Selena Gomez has left him lost and alone, but hey. The ad then states that “teen unemployment makes us all sad” and that “raising the minimum wage will only make things worse.” It’s unclear whether or not Bieber approved of his visage being used in such a manner, but we strongly doubt it.

Snook and Chris Christie: The Most Awkward Jersey Shore Meeting Ever!

When New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Snooki run into each other on a Jersey Shore boardwalk, awkwardness ensues. For them. For THG, quality viewing. During the meeting, which took place as they filmed separate segments for NBC’s Today , Snooki complained that Christie is standing too close to her. Hilariously, he responded by standing even closer to the reality star. CC then extended a hand to Snook (who was flanked by JWoww and Deena), and who replied, “I just wanted to meet you, and just, hope you start to like us.” As Snooki walks away, her facial expression is hilarious. Jodi Arias Jury Fails to Decide on Death Penalty

A Phoenix jury Thursday declared that it could not agree on whether to recommend the death penalty or life in prison for convicted murderer Jodi Arias. She was recently found guilty of slaying her lover, Travis Alexander. Jodi Arias, dressed in black, tearfully held her hand to her face as the jury’s decision was read. She has said that she’d welcome the death penalty . She won’t get it from this jury . At least not yet. Superior Court Judge Sherry Stephens set a June 20 hearing to prepare for a penalty-phase retrial. The mistrial doesn’t undermine Jodi Arias’ guilty verdict or murder conviction. This phase is totally separate and devoted only to her punishment. A new jury, possibly in a different city, will be asked to hear testimony only on the penalty issue, unless the prosecutors were to offer her a plea deal. Chief Keef Threatens to Assault Katy Perry Over Song Diss

Chief Keef is back in the news. But not because his baby mama has sued him for child support. And not because the 17-year old was arrested for pot possession . No, this time, Keef just said some REALLY mean things to Katy Perry. It all started when Perry Tweeted on Wednesday: “Just heard a new song on the radio called ‘I hate being sober’ I now have serious doubt for the world.” At that, the young rap star went off. “Dat b*tch Katy Perry Can Suck Skin Off Of my D*ck,” Keef fired back via Twitter yesterday, later adding: “Ill Smack The Sh*t out her.” Impressively, Perry took the very high road in her response. “sorry if I offended you,” she Tweeted. “I heard a lot of people guesting on the song & didn’t even know it was you in particular. Actually I’m a fan of your “Don’t Like” video [to be honest].” Wow, Katy. You are a much bigger person than we would have been in this situation.

Boy Scouts Vote to Allow Gay Scouts; Gay Scout Leaders Still Prohibited

The Boy Scouts of America have voted to allow gay Scouts to join the ranks. According to multiple media sources, the scouting organization decided, by a 61-38 vote, to eliminate sexual orientation as youth membership criterion. Under the new ruling, gay Scout leaders are still prohibited, however. The Boy Scouts of America’s National Council’s decision to ease a long-standing ban and allow openly gay boys came amid a firestorm of controversy. One that likely won’t end with this particular vote, either. The Scout leaders who voted during the annual meeting in Texas accepted the proposal, but it was far from unanimous, and may not please either side. Already, critics say they went too far … or not far enough. Some conservative churches that sponsor Scout units wanted to continue excluding gays, in some cases threatening to defect if the ban were lifted. More liberal Scout leaders, while supporting the proposal to accept gay youth , have made clear they want the ban on gay adults lifted as well. Foxy Brown Denies Calling Jay-Z an STD-Infected Tranny Chaser

Foxy Brown denies calling Jay-Z a gonorrhea-infected “tranny chaser” and is threatening to sue tabloids who reported and attributed such comments to her. Brown is referencing reports claiming that Foxy recently went to a baby shower and started dishing about Jay-Z’s sex life to one of the guests. She claims she lost her virginity to him when she was 15 and he was 27 … and that he’s a bisexual with STDs who may or may not have a sex tape. You know, among other things. But Foxy says she never said any of it. Brown tells TMZ that “The atrociousness of this story has sickened me to my stomach. Any and everyone involved will be contacted by my attorney.” “In all my years in the music industry, these are the most disgusting and disrespectful allegations I’ve ever experienced. This is a fictitious story.” “NO audio, visual or written interview, concocted with malicious intent.” “Jay has only been wonderful to me and my family, a great friend through the years I’ve known him and we had nothing but great success as a team.” “Beyonce, his wife, has always been gracious and sweet to me … I will NOT let any undercover hater create discord and disrespect my name and reputation.” “This disrespect will NOT be tolerated.” OKAY then. Consider us on notice. In other rumors involving Jay-Z that may or may not be true: Beyonce’s pregnant with baby No. 2 (or not)! The 1939 Jay-Z look-alike is actually him!

Katherine Webb is no longer a contestant on Splash . But the model is still making waves. In an interview with People , Webb – who sky-rocketed to fame in January after ABC cameras caught her in the stands of the BCS Title Game – said she subsists on 1,120 calories per day. Total. Katherine Webb bikini photos are very attractive. But they come at a dietary cost. How does she possibly accomplish such a scant goal? Webb lists her typical menu as including a smoothie for breakfast; an apple for a snack; some kind of salad for lunch; a yogurt bar; and grilled chicken for dinner. And if she’s preparing for a shoot of some kind? “I cut out any type of bread product, and cake, cookies, bagels,” she says, though she allows for the occasional indulgence of Buffalo wings of French fries… but then is sure to burn those off during one of her three weekly workouts. “I try my hardest not to stress myself out,” she says. “If I find myself thinking too much about what I eat, then I go crazy.” Sounds like it’s way too late for that, Kat. Rapper Faked Own Death? Warrant Out for Tim Dog

On February 14, Timothy “Tim Dog” Blair was reported dead, with sources as reputable as Rolling Stone reporting he passed away from a diabetes-related seizure. But Esther Pilgrim believes otherwise: she says the ex-rapper faked his death in order to swindle her out of $32,000. Blair and Pilgrim met through an online dating site and the former pleaded guilty in 2011 to defrauding Pilgrim into funding his supposedly resurrected music career. Tim Dog was ordered to pay $19,000 in restitution over a five-year period, money he did fork over to Pilgrim in various installments… until his supposed death in February. But Pilgrim had questions at the time, none of which have been answered. “What city? Who found him? There was nothing with any type of concrete details,” she says. Now, prosecutor Steven Jubera is working with Pilgrim to have Blair’s probation revoked and there is now a warrant out for his arrest. “I need a death certificate showing that’s he’s dead because as far as I’m concerned, he’s alive,” the lawyer told WREG this week. Pilgrim says Tom Dog may have scammed many others around the world and owes over $2 million in total. The artist shot to fame in 1991 with the song “F**k Compton,” a track aimed at West Coast rappers Dr. Dre and N.W.A.
