Brace yourselves, folks. Thomas Markle has given yet another interview. And he’s done so in light of his daughter and her beloved husband taking their most aggressive step yet to silence their critics and put the awful British tabloids in their place. Late last week, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry filed a lawsuit against The Daily Mail . They did so due to the publication’s alleged violation of the former’s privacy after it published excerpts from a letter Meghan wrote to her father many months ago. In his very powerful statement, trashing many outlets for their treatment of his wife, Harry never specifies the letter in question — but it’s widely believed to have been a message Meghan sent Thomas last spring, shortly after she got married. Thomas, of course, is the one who allowed this letter to be released. In this message, Meghan tells her dad that he has “broken [her] heart” by giving so many interview and airing his grievances in such public fashion. So… what has Thomas now done in response to Meghan and Harry’s lawsuit? He’s once again aired his grievances in public. “I decided to release parts of the letter because of the article from Meghan’s friends in People magazine,” Thomas told the Mail on Sunday, explaining why he betrayed his daughter’s confidence. “I have to defend myself. I only released parts of the letter because other parts were so painful. The letter didn’t seem loving to me. I found it hurtful.” This all gets a little complicated, but here is what Thomas is talking about, broken down by timeline: May 2018 : Harry and Meghan get married. Thomas does not attend the wedding. May/June 2018 : Meghan sends her dad a letter that talks about the “painful attacks” against her and Harry he has made in the recent past, asking him to please keep stop doing that. Summer 2018 : a friend of Markle’s tells People Magazine that Thomas requested a “photo op” with Meghan after receiving her letter, which was the “opposite” of what Meghan was hoping he would do or say. Early 2019 : Thomas releases Meghan’s letter to the press. And now? Thomas is saying that this People Magazine article is what set him off and gave him no choice but to expose his child’s heartfelt plea to the world. “I don’t recognize the person who wrote the letter but I still love my daughter,” Thomas told The Mail on Sunday, adding: “All it would take is one phone call and most of this craziness would stop.” And we’re sure Thomas will get it after going to the very same outlet to which he released Meghan’s letter several months ago. No doubt. The Mail on Sunday reported that Thomas is also upset by false claims that he requested and received payment for releasing parts of the letter. The outlet stated that no payment was requested or given for their article on Saturday. Meghan and Harry’s law firm released a statement last week saying the following: “We have initiated legal proceedings against the Mail on Sunday, and its parent company Associated Newspapers, over the intrusive and unlawful publication of a private letter written by the Duchess of Sussex, which is part of a campaign by this media group to publish false and deliberately derogatory stories about her, as well as her husband. “Given the refusal of Associated Newspapers to resolve this issue satisfactorily, we have issued proceedings to redress this breach of privacy, infringement of copyright and the aforementioned media agenda.” In a rare move, Harry also spoke out on this topic: “The contents of a private letter were published unlawfully in an intentionally destructive manner to manipulate you, the reader, and further the divisive agenda of the media group in question. In addition to their unlawful publication of this private document, they purposely misled you by strategically omitting select paragraphs, specific sentences, and even singular words to mask the lies they had perpetuated for over a year. A spokesperson for The Mail on Sunday later told E! If you’ve been keeping up, you know that Amanda Seales has been speaking out since Emmys weekend when she was escorted out of an after-party meant to celebrate Black Hollywood. While she initially, in Instagram Stories from that very night and event, said a white woman named Kiara had made sure she was kicked out, during the “Side Effects of Professionalism Part 1” episode of her Small Doses podcast last week, she changed her tune. The 38-year-old comedian and actress placed blame, publicly, on Vanessa Anderson , a fellow Black woman, who does PR for Issa Rae and puts together the party every year. Amanda mentioned that the two have never really hit it off, but implied that the fact that Vanessa would go so far as to have her removed from the space felt incredibly unfair and uncalled for. This was not a birthday party…It was not a naming ceremony. This was a Hollywood party for Black entertainers and contributors to Hollywood,” she said. “So by nature of that, I am a part of that industry and should be here celebrating with my community.” “It’s very frustrating to be somebody who’s just trying to do good work and have to deal with this type of unprofessionalism,” she added. “To have to deal with this type of informality and to deal with this literal type of petty a– f–kery, and Hollywood is so rife with this.” However, Amanda’s co-star, Sarunas Jackson , decided to speak on the situation, saying in a since deleted tweet responding to our story that if Amanda is going to be disrespectful, she can’t expect people to welcome her to things. That’s us putting it mildly, to be honest. “You can’t be a disrespectful-a– human being and expect people to want to hang out with you,” he said. “It’s quite simple. We’ve seen white people lose their jobs over using it because they use it in a racist manner. But recently L.A Sparks General Manager Penny Toler , who is a black woman, was fired from her position over using the N-word during a rant after a Sparks loss. “It’s unfortunate I used that word,” Toler told ESPN after the Sparks lost to the Connecticut Sun last month during a playoff game. “I shouldn’t. Nobody should but you know, like I said, I’m not here to defend word by word by word what I said. According to NYDailyNews , a man named Alex Coreas was walking his dogs through the parking lot at Stuebner Airline Veterinary Hospital when he was struck by lightning . Fortunately, hospital employee Christy Mittler saw the whole thing happen and instantly rushed to administer first aid. When she and several others got to Coreas’ side, they reported that his clothes were charred, his socks and shoes were completely gone, and there was a huge hole in the ground. Coreas survived his ordeal and local police found the three dogs that ran off.

She not only landed the triple-double during her floor routine, she landed the double-double dismount on the balance beam. USA Gymnastics confirmed on Twitter that the impressive feat ensures that the triple-double on the floor and the double-double on the beam will officially be named “The Biles” and the “Biles II” respectively. “My goal going into tonight was to not be great,” Biles said, reports CNN. “It wasn’t to do great, it was to do well, and I feel like I accomplished that.” Simone already has two moves named for her, one in the floor exercise and one on a vault. If Simone keeps it up she’ll become the most decorated gymnast in world championships history. As previously reported she won a record-tying sixth all-around title at the 2019 U.S. Gymnastics Championships in Kansas City, Missouri in August. Jackson Gives His Two Cents On Martin Scorsese’s Marvel Comments Martin Scorsese’s comments about Marvel films rubbed a lot of fans the wrong way, but MCU star Samuel L. Jackson’s unbotheredness is something we should all aspire to when responding to haters. Jackson–who has been in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since day one in his role as Nick Fury—spoke to Variety about Scorsese’s comments, saying, “I mean that’s like saying Bugs Bunny ain’t funny. Films are films. Everybody doesn’t like his stuff either. Everybody’s got an opinion, so I mean it’s okay. Ain’t going to stop nobody from making movies.” Of course, Samuel L. wasn’t the only Marvel alum to share their feelings on Scorsese’s belittling comments. Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn really wasn’t happy with Scorsese’s criticisms. He tweeted on Friday, “Martin Scorsese is one of my 5 favorite living filmmakers. I was outraged when people picketed The Last Temptation of Christ without having seen the film. The director went on to argue that the 20+ MCU films should be considered something other than cinema. “I don’t see them,” he proclaimed. “I tried, you know? But that’s not cinema. Honestly, the closest I can think of them, as well made as they are, with actors doing the best they can under the circumstances, is theme parks. It isn’t the cinema of human beings trying to convey emotional, psychological experiences to another human being.”
