Source: John Fleenor/Walt Disney Television via Getty Images) / Getty Demi Lovato May Have Met Her Match With “The Bachelorette” Contestant Mike Johnson Demi Lovato has had her share of ups and downs but things are looking good right now for the singer who may have met her match thanks to Season 15 of “The Bachelorette” A source tells PEOPLE that the singer, 27, and former Bachelorette contestant Mike Johnson are “having fun and getting to know each other.” The source adds, “They’ve been talking privately for a bit and hanging out.” Lovato posted about Johnson, 31, on her social media during his time on Hannah Brown‘s season of The Bachelorette but the pair got the public talking earlier this month when Johnson commented Lovato’s unedited bikini pic. Source: Allen Berezovsky / Getty Kurupt Reportedly Rushed To Hospital After Alcohol Relapse According to TMZ , legendary West Coast rapper Kurupt has reportedly been rushed to the hospital following an alcohol relapse on the set of We TV’s hit show “Marriage Boot Camp”. Kurupt reportedly missed two days of filming because he was recuperating in the hospital after a night of excessive drinking. He allegedly drank so much that he got sick and had to seek medical treatment. Kurupt has been transparent about his struggles with alcohol and was aware that the show wasn’t a friendly environment for recovering addicts. The producers on set reportedly kept the alcohol flowing for cast members, leading to Kurupt’s hospital stint.  But after this incident We TV is contemplating banning drinks from upcoming seasons. Kurupt is set to appear on the show with his estranged wife, Jovan “Tookie” Brown.

Berry Gordy Donates $4 Million To Detroit’s Motown Museum

It highlights Gordy’s entrepreneurial start and features the narratives of legendary artists like The Jackson 5 , Stevie Wonder , Marvin Gaye , and The Temptations who were instrumental in the success of the label. In October 2016, the museum revealed plans for a $50 million, 50,000-square-foot expansion. As part of the project, there would be more interactive exhibits, a performance theater, recording studios, retail shops and meeting spaces added. So far there has been $18 million raised and Gordy’s contribution is the largest from an individual donor. “I’m excited about the future of Motown Museum and happy to support it,” 89-year-old Gordy said in a release. “Not only will the expanded museum entertain and tell the stories of talented and creative people who succeeded against all odds, but it will also inspire and create opportunity for people to explore their dreams the way I did mine. I couldn’t be prouder to be a part of that.” Other donors include the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, DTE Energy Foundation, and Ford Motor Co. Leaders of the museum say they want to expand their impact in the local community by fostering job creation and economic growth. Robin Terry —who serves as the chairman and CEO of the museum—says that with Gordy’s contribution the institution can move forward with solidifying itself as a world-class entertainment and educational destination. T he late legendary basketball player Chuck Cooper was a trailblazer who broke color barriers in the realm of sports. 35 years after his passing, the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native has finally received a long overdue honor. According to Celtics Wire , Cooper was posthumously inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. He was selected by the Boston Celtics. Before he launched his NBA career, he broke racial barriers at the collegiate level while playing at Duquesne University where he was an All-American and became the first Black player to compete in a basketball game below the Mason–Dixon line. Cooper—who had a 6-foot-5 and 210-pound stature—spent four years with the Celtics and also had stints with the Milwaukee Hawks and the Ft. Wayne Pistons. His journey in the NBA was no easy feat. He had to deal with racist taunting from crowds and was banned from restaurants and hotels due to the color of his skin. After his time in the NBA, he played with the Harlem Magicians basketball enterprise but eventually ended his sports career after suffering back injuries from a car accident. Several basketball legends were in attendance to honor Cooper including Bill Russell , Kareem Abdul-Jabbar , Isiah Thomas , Julius Erving , Dominique Wilkins , and Ray Allen . “The NBA’s color barrier was broken, and the game of basketball forever changed,” said Cooper’s son said during the induction ceremony. “It truly amazes me how the early African American pioneers played at such a high professional level while having to sacrifice, endure, and withstand the overt racism and social injustice of that time period.” Black athletes who have forever changed the landscape of sports are finally being recognized by the organizations they’ve impacted. Cooper’s induction comes weeks after a sculpture of Althea Gibson —the first African American to win a Grand Slam title and the first Black person to win at Wimbledon—was recently unveiled outside of Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York during the U.S. Open tennis tournament. Grand Closing: MoviePass Sets A Date For Its Official Closing, But Hopes To Return

Seeing multiple movies a week–or even multiple movies a day–for one small fee, even including new releases. Millions flocked to sign up for this offering that seemed too good to be true, and then the bulls**t started. If you’ll recall from the headlines, there was one time MoviePass didn’t pay their vendors and didn’t email users, so they showed up and were turned away from theaters. Even more recently, the same thing happened in July. After that, their business made some more headlines for how much they owed and the debts they just kept racking up. Now, according to The Verge , the end of the road is officially here. MoviePass will join the trend of companies going out business in 2019 as the service announced its last day of operation will be September 14th . The company says it will still seek funding to bring MoviePass back, but it is “unable to predict if or when the MoviePass service will continue.” It also says “there can be no assurance that any such financing will be obtained or available on terms acceptable to the committee.” The committee in question is a new “strategic review committee” made up of Helios and Matheson board directors to “identify, review, and explore all strategic and financial alternatives” for salvaging the firm. Other options for avid movie goers still exist, such AMC’s Stubs  reward program. Hopefully, this whole MoviePass fiasco is an eye opener to more hopeful entrepreneurs wanting to do similar things in the future. That eye opener being: KNOW WHEN TO GET OUT. Lingering in trouble just makes everything worse, and the outcome is the same, which is that you’ll probably end up going out of business like MoviePass.

School Of Smollett: Ex-NFL Player Charged After Allegedly Staging Fake Hate Crime At His Business

Source: dan thornberg / Getty Former NFL Star Allegedly Stages Fake Hate Crime Former Washington Redskins player, Edawn Louis Coughman , was arrested on Thursday after police say he staged a racially-motivated burglary inside his Georgia restaurant. One day prior to the arrest, police were dispatched to “Create and Bake Restaurant” and “Coughman’s Creamery”, after a maintenance worker at the shopping plaza where Coughman’s establishment is located called about someone burglarizing the restaurant around 9:30 p.m. NEW: Former NFL player turned business owner Edawn Coughman was arrested for allegedly vandalizing his own business, staging a hate crime possibly for insurance money. Gwinnett Police say they found spray paint in his truck, a crow bar, and the spraypainted slurs were still wet. pic.twitter.com/a5UUFdNsTY — Hayley Mason (@HayleyMasonTV) September 13, 2019 Once officers entered the former NFL star’s spot, they found several racially-motivated words and symbols spray-painted on the walls and doors including the word “MAGA”. Police also found several booth cushions sliced open, broken mirrors, cut wires and damaged surveillance system. Shortly after, local police spotted a black truck without a license plate and pulled it over thinking it could be a possible suspect — turns out, it was Coughman driving the vehicle. He told them he noticed the damage and called his insurance company but did not call 911. Upon further investigation, the lead detective on the case sensed that something was suspicious about Coughman, so they arrested him and impounded his vehicle. In the truck, police found a crow bar used to pry open the back door of his business as well as several cans of black spray paint. According to Gwinnett County Police, Coughman conjured a premeditated plan to collect insurance money from his damaged business, disguising it as a hate crime, and selling off the undamaged electronics found in his truck. Coughman has been charged with false report of a crime, insurance fraud and concealing a license plate. He bonded out of jail shortly after, but is expected to appear in court sometime soon.

Source: LukaTDB / Getty Florida Teen Charged With Trying To Put A Hit Out On Her Own Parents According to CBS Miami , a Florida teen was arrested this week and charged with attempting to have her parents killed. Alyssa Michelle Hatcher,17, allegedly stole nearly $1,500 from her parents’ bank account to pay for the murder-for-hire plot. According to the place records, Hatcher used $400 to pay a close friend to have her parents killed, and when the friend failed to carry out the attack, she paid another person $900 to do it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The girl’s boyfriend reported to investigators that he had seen her at “a known drug house” where she told him she wanted to kill her parents. When an investigator at her home interviewed her, Hatcher said that in addition to paying two people to kill her parents, she also used the money she had stolen from her parents to buy cocaine. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Hatcher has been officially charged as a juvenile with two counts of criminal solicitation for murder.
