Source: Kathy Boos / Bravo Now, THIS is messy… Contessa Calls Out Dr. Euguene On “Married To Medicine During the season premiere of “Married To Medicine” season 7, the ladies rehashed some of their old issues and one of the husbands got called out. The ladies attended an event for Dr. Damon’s new ambulatory surgical center and of course, some shady shenanigans took place. During a convo when the ladies were discussing men doing “b*** s***” Dr. Contessa suggested that she should be able to call the ladies’ husbands “b***s” for their behavior—but when her (archnemesis) Toya Bush-Harris chimed in—things went left. “Your husband is literally the definition of a big a** b***! Your husband act like one!” said Contessa about Toya Bush-Harris’ husband Eugene Mind you, Toya said NOTHING about the quip but Twitter is going IN on Contessa for the messy comment. Watch below.

Source: WENN/Avalon / WENN Lil Nas X had the Internet rallying around him after a recent appearance on HBO’s The Shop alongside Kevin Hart , which some fans felt was the comedian trying to question X on his sexuality. According to the “Old Town Road” star, he says there’s no issue between him and Hart and even if there were issues, the public wouldn’t know about it. TMZ exclusively reports : The “Old Town Road” rapper says he’s not fuming about the perceived slight. While recording an interview Tuesday with DJ Scream and Moran Tha Man — for their Atlanta-based show, Hoodrich Radio! — he said, “I’m not mad at Kevin Hart.” Lil Nas really wanted that to sink in for the outrage police on the Internet … who were still going after Kevin, even after he suffered serious injuries in that car accident. Last week on HBO’s “The Shop” Nas X was asked about coming out as gay earlier this year. Before he could even get into why he came out when he did … Kevin blurted out, “He said he was gay, so what?!?” Many people found it tone-deaf. Kevin later interjected with more clarifying questions that some took as disrespect, especially in light of his past issues with the LGBTQ community. Welp, that settles that, although it’s doubtful people won’t take their feet off Kevin Hart’s neck for his past transgressions all the same. — Photo: WENN

Source: Xilla Valentine / No Kable Productions It’s human nature to change your appearance every so often in attempt to align with how you feel inside. No wonder the classic Coco Chanel proverb that “a woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life” rangs so true for so many people. The real MVPs of evolution and change are Black Women. We can go from short hair, to long waves to an afro or Box braids all in one week. The DMX Challenge is proof that we can be whoever we want, any day of the week, and still manage to look like ourselves. But what about the folks whose looks have changed so drastically that they look nothing like themselves? Like The Weeknd , whose new mustache and weird makeup job almost made him unrecognizable to fans. The Weeknd Debarge https://t.co/4Czrs8PhRH — Makayla (@LayDaye) September 10, 2019 Often times, celebs take a mini hiatus from their work, and come back looking like a whole new person. Or they start making more money and we start to notice the not so subtle adjustments they’ve made to themselves. Or, some stars adopt a much healthier lifestyle and start to lose weight and glow from the inside out. Whatever the case may be, it’s their body. Their mind. Their choice. Just know that you can’t get anything past the Internets. Hit the flip for more celebs who changed their look over time.
Abby Lee Miller spent months paralyzed during and after her harrowing battle with cancer. Fans feared she would never stand, walk, or dance again. Now, in an appearance on The Doctors , Abby is taking a major step — literally — in her recovery. Watch the video and see her walk again for the very first time! 52-year-old Abby Lee Miller returned to Dance Moms months ago to impart some wisdom and some terror upon young girls. But she very conspicuously did so in a wheelchair. Abby has made a lot of progress in her lengthy recovery, however. So much so that she's ready to go on television and do much more than discuss her cancer battle and the aftermath. In this clip, Abby rises to standing and even takes her first steps. It's a very tense moment — because not even Abby knows if she can do it. “Everybody put your hands together and pray,” Abby asks of her audience. “This is so scary,” the reality star confesses. “You have no idea.” Seated along the array of doctors, Abby is of course in her wheelchair. A walker is placed in front of her to give support and balance. Abby's feet touch the ground firmly — a feat that might have proven impossible just one year ago. You can see the focus, the effort, and the concentration on Abby's face as she wills herself to rise. Standing after months — or more — of paralysis is not a matter of willpower or personal courage. But it takes a great deal of both to, after extensive healing and physical therapy, rise up from your chair in front of an audience and numerous cameras. Abby does it, however, and rises to standing. That's not the test, however. The true test is seeing whether or not she can then walk . Abby's months of hard work during her recovery have paid off. Before the audience's very eyes, she steps forward. Her movements may be labored, but she's doing more than just shuffling — she's really, truly walking. And yes, she's walking using a walker — a necessary tool at this stage and a vital safety device. But that doesn't diminish this milestone in her recovery. When Abby first reported to the hospital in early 2018, she had noticed a creeping paralysis, particularly in her arm. Doctors performed spinal surgery, expecting to find and clear out an infection. What they found instead was Burkitt lymphoma, a cancer that is extremely rare in adults, and usually found among children in Africa. Abby underwent chemo, radiation therapy, and a second excruciating spinal surgery. That she even felt well enough to return to Dance Moms was extraordinarily good news. While on The Doctors , Abby's doctor reveals that — though she has missed some screenings — she appears to still be in remission. (Abby, go to your screenings! No matter how well you feel!) However you may feel about her demanor on her show or how she treats children, no one in the world deserves cancer. Her recovery is fantastic news and we look forward to future milestones.
Today, on this very special Tuesday in September, I’m happy to share that Amanda Bynes has joined Instagram . The 33-year-old just made her first-ever post, and as usual, she is leaving quite a big impression. A few hours ago, the Nickelodeon alum directed her 2.9 million Twitter followers to her new Instagram page, writing, “Hey guys! I’m on Instagram now ! Check me out.” Since making the announcement, the beloved child star has already racked up around 28,000 followers! Um, talk about a #Comeback. Currently, there are only nine people in the world who are lucky enough to be followed by Ms. Bynes, most of them fashion designers and magazine outlets. But Nicky and Paris Hilton also scored individual follows. The first photo Amanda shared was a selfie, which offered a perfect glimpse into her edgy new look. She debuted her long, wavy pink locks and accessorized with a pink necklace and a gold septum ring, using a kissy face emoji for her caption. The comment section of the post was disabled, which honestly, is pretty impressive considering she is a newbie to IG. But also unfortunate because we can only imagine how much support and praise her post, as seen below, would’ve received. Oh well, we’re sending all the love anyway! Amanda has slowly but surely been making her way back into the public eye. But with that and the pressure of auditioning again, 5 months ago she landed right back into rehab after an unfortunate “relapse”. At the time, her family’s attorney told E! News that “Amanda is doing great, working on herself, and taking some well-deserved time off to focus on her wellbeing after graduating FIDM in December.” Right before her graduation, Amanda graced the cover of Paper magazine, where she opened up about her past struggles with mental health and drugs . While most of us remember her as the charming, beautiful lead in some of the best early 00’s rom-coms like What a Girl Wants and She’s the Man (great movie don’t @ me) Amanda saw something else. At the time, she said watching herself play a boy in the popular soccer film sent her into a months-long depression. “When the movie came out and I saw it, I went into a deep depression for 4 to 6 months because I didn’t like how I looked when I was a boy,” she explained. Bynes also discussed her experience with smoking marijuana, along with taking other drugs, and how it changed her entire personality and outlook on life. “I was high on marijuana when I saw [ Easy A ], but for some reason, it really started to affect me,” she said. “I don’t know if it was a drug-induced psychosis or what, but it affected my brain in a different way than it affects other people. It absolutely changed my perception of things.” The Hairspray actress has been sober for four years now, and even though her road to recovery has taken some dark turns, fans are remaining optimistic. Hopefully, we will get to see some of her life updates through more photos on Instagram! The comeback is real this time, folks. View Slideshow: 24 Child Stars Who Actually Grew Up to Be Normal

And now, the queen of Afro Sheen and Black haircare icon has died at the age of 89. According to the Chicago Sun-Times , Johnson, the co-founder of Johnson Products Company and the makers of Afro Sheen and Ultra Sheen—passed last Friday (Sep. 6). Her oldest son, Eric G. Johnson , told the newspaper that his trailblazing mother was ‘battling a combination of medical conditions stemming from a 2005 accident that sent her through five back surgeries.” Her husband George added that he lost “the love of his life.” “I have lost a lifelong friend and partner and the love of my life,” he said in a statement. “Joan will be greatly missed by her family and all of those who have come to know her.” In 1954, Johnson and her husband George Johnson started their haircare line on the city’s South Side with a $250 investment and grew their business from $4 million in sales in 1967 to $40 million in 1976, the Sun-Times noted. Johnson also served as a trustee of Spelman College and provided an annual scholarship for a select set of the HBCU’s students each year. For her son, his mother was a “pioneer. “For having such a string of ‘firsts’ and being comfortable in that environment, I look at my mother as a pioneer,” Eric Johnson said. “She and my father had no provided path. They created a path where there was none.” Adding, “Because of her, people have been able to accomplish things they maybe didn’t think they could, and they knew all the things they had to strive for.” “As [the] matriarch of the family, she was a magnet who inspired, consoled and advised people. That’s the role she’s always played in this family from me as a child right down to her great-grandchildren.” Thank you #AfroSheen Queen #JoanJohnson for the legacy of natural hair products, with the most #Afrocentric marketing campaigns and #iconic cultural commercials. pic.twitter.com/1niafQunjh — Sista Dee Barnes (@sistadbarnes) September 10, 2019 “She truly was a grande dame in every sense of the work,” said Linda Johnson Rice, CEO of Johnson Publishing Company, which formerly published Ebony and Jet magazines. “Dignified, smart, sharp-witted and fun. I have many fond memories of my conversations with her…dispensing life advice. Her life is one to be celebrated.” Joan Johnson is survived husband and three sons, a daughter Joan Johnson, 10 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
