Broncos Linebacker Brandon Marshall Loses Credit Union Endorsement Over Anthem Protest According to a report in SportsIllustrated , Brandon Marshall ‘s Kaepernick-esque protest of the National Anthem will cost him on of his endorsements… Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall has lost his endorsement deal with Air Academy Federal Credit Union after kneeling during the national anthem on Thursday night before a win over the Panthers. The Colorado-based credit union serves active and retired members of the United States military. “Although we have enjoyed Brandon Marshall as our spokesperson over the past five months, Air Academy Federal Credit Union (AAFCU) has ended our partnership,” president and CEP Glenn Strebe said in a statement. “AAFCU is a membership-based organization who has proudly served the military community for over 60 years. While we respect Brandon’s right of expression, his actions are not a representation of our organization and membership. We wish Brandon well on his future endeavors.” After the game Marshall explained to the DenverPost exactly what his kneeling was meant to signify: “I’m not against the military. I’m not against the police or America. I’m just against social injustice,” Marshall said after the game. “I’m proud of it. I don’t regret it. I know this is right.” Marshall said he was moved by the wave of police brutality that occurred this summer, including two killings of black men by police officers and a third mass shooting of police officers within a three-day span across the country. He’s following the path of Kaepernick, 49ers safety Eric Reid and Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane who have all sat or knelt during the national anthem in the preseason seeking change in what he feels are some of the hidden struggles like racial oppression and police brutality. “I feel like this is the right platform. I feel like this is our only platform to be heard,” Marshall said. “A lot of time people want us to just shut up and entertain them. Shut up and play football. But we have voices as well. We’re actually educated individuals that went to college. What’s the point of debuting a bunch of Capezio-inspired leotards at New York Fashion Week if your mother-in-law isn’t going to show up? Kanye West made every big name in fashion leave Manhattan (on a chartered bus) on September 7th to attend his Yeezy Season 4 show on nearby Roosevelt Island. It was a far cry from February’s spectacle, held at Madison Square Garden and attended by every member of the Kardashian family. This time, Kris Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian decided to take a vacation in Italy, and Khloe was photographed on September 5th in Mexico with Cleveland Cavaliers forward Tristan Thompson, 25. Even though Kendall and Kylie Jenner attended the show (they are promoting their own brands at Fashion Week), it would have been nice if the whole crew showed up. “It was a big disappointment to Kanye that Kris, Kourtney and Khloé didn’t attend his fashion show ,” a source told People Magazine. “Both Kim and Kanye would have wanted the rest of her family in N.Y.C., too.” Great news, though! Toolbag extraordinaire Jonathan Cheban showed his support! Preparations for the show have reportedly taken a toll on West, who is also in the middle of his Saint Pablo tour, which kicked off August 25th. “Kanye has been very stressed about his fashion show,” the source added. “He is a perfectionist and was a nightmare before the show.” And as many know, when one half of a couple is stressed and cranky, the other half gets the worst of it. “Kim has definitely been annoyed. The Bay Area Legend Might Not Be Done With Football Yet Marshawn Lynch gave football fans the blues when he announced his retirement at the end of the 2015 NFL season. Lynch had become something of a superhero, deftly denying reporters and journalists of quotes while coining popular phrases like “I’m just here so I don’t get fined.” While he’s been having a great time gallivanting on his summer trips, reports are saying he might want to lace up the cleats one more time. That’s right, Marshawn Lynch might be headed back to the NFL. Via RealGM Marshawn Lynch retired in the offseason but he already is mulling a return. Lynch is currently “up in the air” about coming out of retirement with a Week 4 or Week 5 return possible. The Seattle Seahawks still hold Lynch’s rights since he was placed on the reserve-retired list. If Lynch returns before the trade deadline, which comes on the Tuesday after Week Eight, Lynch would become a free agent, if released. After the trade deadline, he would pass through waivers, if the Seahawks cut him. The Seahawks have appeared to move on from Lynch with Thomas Rawls and Christine Michael. Shooter Dead And 2 Injured In Texas High School Shooting A parent’s worst nightmare came true this morning as terror struck a Texas High School according to the NYDailyNews … A girl at Alpine High School in Texas shot and wounded another girl before fatally turning the gun on herself Thursday morning, police said. The shooting happened in a bathroom before 8 a.m., law enforcement officials told ABC7 New York. Brewster County Sheriff Ronny Dodson said the shooter died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The other girl was wounded, he said. A police officer was also accidentally shot and wounded by a marshal at the school, Dodson said. The shooting happened less than three weeks after classes began Aug. 22. The district — comprising only one elementary, middle and high school, with about 1,000 students — went into lockdown after the gunfire. These school shootings have BEEN outta control.
