On Martin Luther King Jr. Day this year, Harris announced that she would be running for president in the 2020 election. Just like Chisholm, Harris has dreams of changing some of the policies and laws that will help shape the United States of America in the direction many voters would like to see it go. At a very young age Harris knew that she would enter the field of law and possibly go into politics. She attended Howard University , where she majored in economics as well as political science. Her presidential opponents should know that not only did she join the debate team in college, but also was a freshman class representative, which means she’s been ready for a leadership role. After graduating, Harris went on to Hastings College of Law and in 2004 made history by becoming the first Black U.S. senator of California. In 2016, she went on to win the Senate election. While being Senator, Harris has supported the legalization of recreational marijuana , support health care for all, help pass the DREAM Act and lower taxes. If elected to become president, Harris promises to fight for a middle class tax cut. Like all superheroes, Harris has a lot of obstacles to climb to get to the White House, but with her fearless attitude and strength she’s showing us that she has what it takes to get there. Amanda Seales Accuses Ex-NFL Player Turned Harvard Neurosurgeon Of Sexual Harassment

Source: Leon Bennett / Getty Via  Madamenoire : Amanda Seales   just used her social media to reveal she was the victim of sexual harassment, naming  Myron Rolle , an  ex-NFL  player turned  Harvard   neurosurgeon, as the subject of her accusation.   During a recent interview and again on her podcasts, Small Doses, Seales talked about an encounter where she claims she received disturbing direct messages from an unnamed source. On Monday, Seales used her InstaStories to explain why she chose to come forward. SEE ALSO:  Why Amanda Seales Felt It Was Her Responsibility To Address Caitlyn Jenner [VIDEO] “I really don’t take it lightly what I’m about to say, because when you name names, you know you not only put that person out there but you put yourself out there,” she said. “But, I feel as a woman who makes it my business to be a warrior for the truth, that it needs to be said. I, on my podcast, um and on ‘The Breakfast Club,’ spoke about an individual who had approached me on the Internet and we spoke on the phone, and, uhh they said some troubling things in the conversation that made me take a step back.” Seales said she was instantly made aware the Rolle had a separate encounter with another woman, who says he greeted her at the door of his hotel room with no clothes on and then made her feel uncomfortable about her reaction. Seales says as of Monday, a total of eight women have come forward to reveal troubling behavior. “When I spoke about him on my podcast and on ‘The Breakfast Club,’ I didn’t say his name. I literally just said a couple of characteristics about him and it has been shocking and incredibly discomforting to me, how many women, 8 as of tonight, that have come forward to say his name. And that he had been incredibly problematic and behaved in a very sexually predatorial way that could have gotten him fired. I say all that to say, if you are approached by Myron Rolle, you should just be mindful,” she said in closing. Rolle is a 32-year-old Harvard Medical School resident who initially began his career in the limelight after he was drafted to the NFL in 2010 as a member of the Tennessee Titans. In a 2017 interview with CNN, Rolle said his trajectory to explore medicine began when he read Ben Carson’s autobiography, “Gifted Hands.” After graduating from Florida State University, he postponed his NFL career to attend Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar. For Seales, this is the second time she reported contact with a prominent male harasser. In 2017, she retold an uncomfortable tale where Russell Simmons asked if the two had ever “f—–d.”

The young man, who is a student at Lawton Chiles Middle Academy in Polk County, FL, said he feels the pledge is racist and the American flag is offensive to black people. After he reportedly became disruptive, he was arrested and charged with disrupting a school function and resisting arrest without violence, Bay 9 News reports. He was also suspended for three days. Email Submit The sixth grader also had an exchange with his substitute teacher during the incident that added fuel to the fire. After he told her he felt the flag represented racism, she replied “Why if it was so bad here he did not go to another place to live,” and he responded with “they brought me here,” according to the statement she wrote. The teacher then told him “Well you can always go back, because I came here from Cuba and the day I feel I’m not welcome here anymore I would find another place to live.” His behavior became disruptive during his arrest where he called school authorities racist, threatened to beat up his teacher and get the principal fired. SEE ALSO:  Texas Takes Cue From NFL To Get Black Student To Stand For Pledge His mother, Dhakira Talbot, is outraged and hopes that the school takes disciplinary action against the substitute teacher. “She was wrong,” Talbot told Bay 9 News. “She was way out of place. If she felt like there was an issue with my son not standing for the flag, she should’ve resolved that in a way different manner than she did.” She continued, “I want the charges dropped and I want the school to be held accountable for what happened because it shouldn’t have been handled the way it was handled.” A spokesperson for the school confirmed that students are not required to stand for the pledge of allegiance but the substitute teacher was not aware. Email Submit Officials state that Cunningham and 31-year-old, Marcus Johnson who lives across the street wanted to meet at Eaglecrest High School to settle the beef. Johnson bought a gun and Cunningham didn’t have a weapon with him. SEE ALSO:  15-Year-Old Shot And Killed By Her 17-Year-Old Boyfriend Cunningham was shot several times and died from his wounds. He leaves behind his wife and five children, a GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money for his family. Johnson has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree attempted murder and cops found the gun that was used in this incident. Cunningham only played nine games for the Seahawks before suffering a knee injury that ended his career. We will continue to keep his family and friends in our prayers. A man in Minnesota was just charged with murder after investigators matched his DNA from a napkin he threw out at his daughter’s hockey game to evidence that they had on file. Now, 25 years later, 52-year-old Jerry Westrom was linked to the 1993 stabbing death of Jeanne Ann Childs after cold case investigators compared samples from the scene to a public genealogy database. Even though the case was closed years ago following a lack of evidence, it had been reopened in 2015 in light of advances in DNA screening technology. Investigators sent these samples from the scene to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and a DNA testing company; The samples turned up Westrom’s name after being compared to data on the public DNA database, GEDmatch. That match meant that either Westrom or a close relative of his had used the website. From there, they used that information as the basis to look into Westrom’s online presence, which is where the whole napkin thing comes in. They proceeded to follow the 52-year-old based on where he said he was going to be and ended up recovering a napkin that he used at a game in Wisconsin back in January. According to authorities, they said that the lightbulbs went off that they should use the database after a similar method was used to capture the Golden State Killer, a case that has completely obsessed detectives and true crime fanatics for decades. “We all learned quite a bit from the Golden State Killer,“ said Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman told  Minneapolis’ WCCO . Freeman explained that the way they went about obtaining the sample was entirely legal. “When you discard things in the trash, the Supreme Court often says it’s free game,” Freeman said. “And so he discarded the napkin in a container and threw it in the trash, so they could get it.” Even though DNA evidence certainly doesn’t lie, Westrom has continued to deny the allegations and is currently free after paying his $500,000 bail. So, what’s the moral of the story here? Think before you send your spit swabs into those ancestry sites, people. Or just don’t go to any basketball games…Especially if you were out here committing crimes approximately 25 years ago. How do you feel about the police digging into the garbage to test out DNA?!

You may not know the name K3hz just yet , but he tells the kind of stories many Black youths can relate to—so, trust, you’ll know him soon. In his latest offering, a visual for his track “Prayer,” the Bethune Cookman University graduate opens up about losing two of his closest friends to gun violence. In the clip, he heads to the cemetery where they were both buried and turns to his relationship with God to help him through the tragic loss. Speaking on gun violence in the Black community, he told Global Grind of the youth “Some are not making it to the age of 21 and it makes my peers and I fearful of leaving home without a weapon to protect ourselves. It’s sad to have to live like that!” Born and bred in Decatur, GA, K3hz grew up bumping fellow Atlanta natives Outkast and B.O.B. It was watching his favorite Youtube rappers (lyricists like Loaded Lux, Tsu Surf, Tay Roc, and O’fficial) and his passion for bringing southern rap back to its roots that inspired his career the most. K3hz released his debut mixtape Won’t Be Denied , executive produced by multi-platinum producer J. Reid , in October and now he’s back with this must-see visual from the tape. Keep positive energy around you and allow that pain to be your motivation in striving for excellence throughout all that you do.” On what he studied at Bethune Cookman University and if music was always his plan: “I studied Criminal Justice at the great Bethune Cookman University. Music wasn’t my main plan, but being a drum major in my high school marching band and also playing in the percussion section in college inspired me to take it further. Music has always been an important part of my life.” On Meek Mill and Jay-Z teaming up to reform the criminal justice system: “I think it’s great that some of the top influencers of this industry are teaming up to reform criminal justice. There is definitely injustice within our justice system that needs to be corrected. However, I hate the fact that it had to come after Meek’s prison time—but I’m happy that it’s in place to help those affected by all injustices.”

That is if a team is willing to sign him. Let Kaep’s lawyer Mark Geragos tell it, there are at least three teams who might want #7’s services: ESPN agreed with Geragos, but was even more specific about the potential for Kaep to end up signed to the Carolina Panthers. Cam Newton is having shoulder surgery for the second time in three years, his recovery time is unknown. Having a capable back-up like Kaepernick would be clutch. What about the potential backlash from the mildewed MAGA Panther fans? Well, the team has already signed Kaep’s former kneeling teammate Eric Reid. Obviously, Reid isn’t the lightning rod that Colin is, but he certainly was a good litmus test for owners to gauge fan reaction. We’re not holding our breath in hopes that NFL owners do what’s right, but quarterbacks aren’t growing on trees?
