According to Deadline , the folks at Warner Bros. are looking to cash in on the $3 billion franchise that made toy-maker Mattel a household name. A Barbie film is in development after spending significant time idling at Sony and it is rumored that Will Smith’s rumored becky bae Margot Robbie is in talks to play the seminal blonde. Initially Amy Schumer was going to star in the flick (Can’t imagine how THAT would have worked) and Anne Hathaway was attached but stepped away once production couldn’t be coordinated around Schumer’s schedule. Obviously a Barbie story wouldn’t just be glamor and glitz, the idea was to tell a story where Barbie isn’t the perfect icon that many lauded her as in the late 80s and early 90s. Anthropological evidence shows the native people living in the lake region of the Valley of Mexico traditionally ate tacos filled with small fish. At the time of the Spanish conquistadors, Bernal Diaz del Castillo documented the first taco feast enjoyed by Europeans. This meal was arranged by Hernan Cortes for his captains in Coyoacan. It is unclear why the Spanish used the word taco to describe this native food. El Pollo Loco offers a free taco coupon on their website, and tacos are buy-one-get-one free at California Tortilla on that day as well. But you don’t always have to go out to enjoy them. One of the great things about the fast and tasty meal is that it’s super easy to make at home. Check out the Food Network recipe for how to make the perfect taco at home below! Here’s what you need… Beef (can be substituted) : 1 tablespoon olive oil 1/2 yellow onion, diced 2 pounds ground beef 1/2 teaspoon chili powder 1/2 teaspoon cumin 1/2 teaspoon paprika 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper Fixins : 20 fajita-sized flour tortillas 18 hard taco shells 1 pound Cheddar-Jack cheese, grated 15 Roma tomatoes, diced 1 head green leaf lettuce, shredded Extras : guacamole, salsa, corn, sour cream, jalapeños Here’s what you need to do with it… 1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. 2. For the beef: In a skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil and onions. Cook until starting to soften, then add the ground beef. Cook the meat until it’s totally browned, then drain the fat. Add the chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper and crushed red pepper and stir to combine. Add 1/2 cup hot water and stir. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes. 3. For the fixins: Meanwhile, wrap the flour tortillas in foil and warm in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Right before serving, crisp the taco shells in the oven according to package instructions. 4. Serve with the grated cheese, diced tomatoes and shredded lettuce. TIP : Start with a layer of lettuce, sour cream, guacamole and other toppings for an easier fold/roll up. Source: Shareif Ziyadat / Getty Mac Miller ‘s family just announced A Celebration of Life, a show that will benefit the newly launched Mac Miller Circles Fund (MMCF). “The support we’ve experienced is evident in this amazing line-up and is a testament to Malcolm’s incredible life,” Karen Meyers , Miller’s mother, said about the event in a press release on Tuesday. “His Father, brother, and I are beyond thankful to everyone who is working to make this concert happen along with every fan and every friend for continuing to support Malcolm and his vision. He was a caring, loving human with a smile that could light up the sky and a soul that was out to make the world a kinder place and the MMCF will continue to do just that.” Mac was close friends with some really great artists, so it’s no surprise that the lineup for this show is impressive. Those who attend will see performances from Travis Scott , Schoolboy Q , SZA , John Mayer , Action Bronson , Chance the Rapper , Earl Sweatshirt , Vince Staples , and more. Tickets for the celebration of life, which is set for October 31 at the Greek in Los Angeles, will be available via the official MMCF site beginning this Friday, Oct. 5. The flyer for the show was designed by Mac’s brother, Miller McCormick . All of the net proceeds from tickets to the show will be given to the Mac Miller Circles Fund, which will be co-managed by Mac’s estate, family, an advisors board, and the 4 Strikes management team. Just recently launched following Mac’s passing, MMCF aims to help young people in underserved communities by giving them access to programming and additional resources centered on creativity and community building. Mac Miller died tragically on September 7 at his home in Studio City, California. Only one month prior, the rapper had released his fifth studio album Swimming , which featured two acts that are now on the bill for A Celebration of Life, Thundercat and John Mayer.
Last week, Remy Ma and Papoose hit up The Wendy Williams Show to promote their new reality TV special, Meet The Mackies . While there, Remy Ma delved into her non-relationship with Nicki Minaj and according to the rapper, there’s no beef. When Williams asked Remy Ma whether or not she’d spoken to Cardi B since the rising star’s NYFW beef with Minaj , Remy ma responded “When we usually speak it’s not like a whole gossip thing, or whatever. It’s usually, always words of encouragement: ‘Girl don’t worry about that,’ ‘Girl this’ll blow over,’ ‘or You looked great in Paris,’ or ‘Congratulations on the baby”…things like that. I don’t think neither one of us really dwell on the negative stuff. So much positive things is going on in both of our lives right now, that we have way more positive than negative to talk about.” “It’s no relationship,” Remy Ma continued when Williams asked her about her own relationship with Minaj. “I don’t harbor any ill feelings or wish bad on anybody—I don’t.” Besides all the Hip-Hop beef , Papoose and Remy told their #BlackLove story.
