Nicki Minaj finally delivered the highly anticipated video for her second single “Starships” off her sophomore album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. Clad in various bikinis,…
Rapper says the clip is done and should drop next week. By John Mitchell Nicki Minaj Photo: Getty Images Apparently, getting it just right is more important than keeping it especially timely. Nicki Minaj ‘s smash single “Starships” has been burning up the Billboard Hot 100 for nine weeks now, peaking at #5 a few weeks back and currently holding it down at #7. The pop-dance track was the official lead single (“Roman Holiday” and “Stupid Hoe” were promo singles) from her new album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, which debuted at #1 two weeks back. All of which makes the fact that there’s been no official video release for the buzz-heavy track seem all the more glaring. Heck, she’s already released the video for “Beez in the Trap,” technically the album’s third single after “Starships” and “Right by My Side” featuring Chris Brown. So when will we finally see the “Starships” video? Pretty soon, according to Minaj. “It’s officially done,” Nicki told the U.K.’s Capital FM . “There was just one tiny little thing I wanted to change, but I know at the beginning of next week you guys will see it.” But watch out, Nicki warns: “It may be too saucy for TV.” Pictures of the rap/pop superstar hard at work on the clip surfaced in mid-March, showing Nicki looking amazing while sporting green hair and a pink bikini as she filmed in an exotic location. At the time, Minaj told MTV News that seeing girls sporting her unique style has been an exciting byproduct of her fame. “I guess I am pop culture, just because what I’m doing seems to be popular. When people want to do what you’re doing, it’s kinda popular,” she said. “I don’t ask girls to wear pink hair; they just do it. It’s not about black or white; I think it’s just a statement. It doesn’t matter which color you are; it’s just a statement of being fearless.” What are you expecting from Nicki’s “Starships” video? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Nicki Minaj

Highest Chart Achievement While “Glad You Came” peaked at #3 on the Hot 100, they went all the way to #1 on the Billboard Pop Songs chart earlier this month. Standout Video Partying on the beach? Hanging with hot girls? Dancing and having a good time? The band’s “Glad You Came” video is a snapshot into the five Brits’ favorite things to do. (Next up, they will explore similar themes in their “Chasing the Sun” video .) Defining Tune Cheeky, dance-floor-ready and full of euphemisms (really think about it, guys), “Glad You Came” introduced America to the British fivesome. It seems we Americans are pretty glad they came. Debut Album While they have yet to drop their self-titled U.S. EP (it’s out Tuesday), the guys did release their first album, The Wanted, abroad in October 2010, and it peaked at #4 in the U.K. Biggest Competition They are currently trying to fend off One Direction in a race for the hearts of American girls. It’s the Sophie’s Choice of boy-band brawls. So why do the guys think you should vote for them? Their answer might surprise you! “We think you should vote for us because everything that we’ve ever been nominated for that goes to public vote, we’ve never won,” Max George pleaded. “And also, you should vote for us because we are the worst-looking boy band of all time,” Nathan Sykes added. The guys even weighed in on their favorite boy bands of all time. Siva Kaneswaran said, “My favorite boy band of all time is the Backstreet Boys. I have to say Backstreet Boys, because they showed me the reason for being lonely.” “My favorite boy band of all time has to be the Jonas Brothers,” George chimed in. “Have you seen ‘Camp Rock’? ‘I had 11 million followers and I hope they will wait for me,’ Minaj says, hinting at a return to the site. By Nadeska Alexis Nicki Minaj in her video for “Beez In The Trap” Photo: UMG As of Friday afternoon (April 20), Nicki Minaj has been absent from Twitter for five days, keeping the Barbz on a sharp lookout for her return. Minaj temporarily deleted the account in a fit of frustration on Sunday, but during her current press run in the U.K., she admits that she’s still pondering if or when she will get back on the social media site. In an interview with Graham Norton, Nicki explained that one of the many personalities in her head — we’re assuming it wasn’t Roman this time — told her to quit Twitter. “A voice in my head told me to delete my Twitter and that’s what I did,” she said, adding, “I had 11 million followers and I hope they will wait for me.” Norton specifically asked when she planned to get back on her timeline, but she wouldn’t confirm anything, telling him, “I don’t know yet, I’m thinking about it. I miss my Barbz, please bear with me.” Nicki disappeared from Twitter over the weekend after getting into a spat with one of her fan sites, NickiDaily , which she took issue with for posting leaked music from her Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded album. “Like seriously, it’s but so much a person can take. Good f—ing bye,” she wrote before signing off indefinitely. The leak was Nicki’s breaking point, but it’s very possible that she was also getting fed up with some of the feedback she’s been receiving since she dropped Roman Reloaded. For now, Barbz shouldn’t be too worried about Nicki being permanently absent from Twitter. She will be able to reactivate her account even after several weeks of inactivity, and thanks to her verified status, no one will be allowed to inherit her @NickiMinaj handle without the permission of Twitter employees. Do you think Nicki should reactivate her Twitter account? Tell us in the comments! Related Videos The Evolution Of Nicki Minaj Related Artists Nicki Minaj
I hate Nicki Minaj. Her music is shit. Her concept is shit. Her body is shit and her execution is shit. She’s some trained actor who wanted to be famous and who managed to use that shit in what is seemingly a comedy act that people take seriously….not an actual art or high concept thing she’s put together that comes from the depths of her soul…She’s the fucking equivalent of a hired clown at a shitty kids birthday party hall….all loud and stupid with an equally raped soul. She tries too fucking hard, looks fucking stupid in the process…She can’t be taken seriously….she must be put out of her misery….take her out back on Old Yeller the bitch….even if she’s showing panties I am too irritated by to remove with my mouth….so I know she’s bad news.
