Tuesday, on the second episode of NCIS Season 11, Cote de Pablo’s Ziva David made her final appearance in a complex and emotional installment. After a months-long journey, Tony tracked down his longtime love in Israel, only to have her say she needed to leave the team to find herself again. “I have to do this alone,” Ziva explained to her colleague of so many years. “I have to let go of everything, or I will be pulled back to where I started.” NCIS ‘Past, Present & Future’ Recap Cote de Pablo’s exit threw the show for a loop this summer, as NCIS had to wrap up last season’s cliffhanger in an entirely new way to write Ziva out. As a result, her departure didn’t offer much closure, though that was possibly deliberate. Ziva’s goodbye was as open-ended and positive as they come. Remaining in Israel to find herself? Not entirely satisfying, especially for Tony. But also hard to fault the character for after the events of last season. The kiss was wonderful for fans who have yearned for it all these years, but it was immediately followed by Tony and Ziva parting ways at the airport. Bittersweet, mixed emotions there to say the least. It may have been the best way for Ziva to exit, but that didn’t make it any easier or less confusing. Meanwhile, in D.C., Gibbs and the team discover the name of the assassin who tried to kill Tony, while Fornell is assigned to protect a new target. Allegedly, philanthropic millionaire Tomas Mendez is next on the Brotherhood of Doubt’s hit list, and he nearly evades being taken out by a bomb. After months with few leads, Gibbs meets with disgraced Captain Wayne at a diner in hopes that he’ll talk. Then Gibbs is attacked on his way out. Gibbs, being Gibbs, manages to subdue his much bigger and younger attacker and bring him in for questioning, while McGee makes a huge discovery. The various phone calls made by the terrorists originate from a company that Mendez owns – he’s triggering the explosions himself from his phone. Tobias, unaware of Mendez’ complicity and still protecting him, has no idea that a man they are going to see on “business” is another Mendez target. Before Mendez can send the signal, Gibbs shoots and kills him with the sniper rifle seen at the end of last season, clipping Tobias’ rear end in the process. In a series of pretty funny promos alongside Taran Killam, the artist makes fun of her racy VMA performance , agreeing that her clothing was way over-the-top and crying: “It was too much! New couple alert??? Sanna Lathan Coupled Up With Colin Kaepernick Via MadamNoire reports: You know the whole “jumping the gun” thing? Yes, that’s totally what could be happening here, but allow me that in the case of Sanaa Lathan and Colin Kaepernick. Late Saturday night, Sanaa Lathan posted a picture of she and San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick looking rather “chummy.” She captioned it, “@kaepernick7 xoxo.” By looking very closely at the picture (Inspector Gadget style), they look like they’re at dinner and not just randomly taking a picture at a party. Further searching and sleuthing on the internet resulted in finding a full picture of the night and they were, indeed, at dinner (you’ll have to find that one on your own though). A few minutes later, Kaepernick re-grammed the picture with the caption, “@sanaalathan this.” Sounds like this could be the making of something, right? Yes, I thought so too. In response to the, “Isn’t she older than him” question that I know is coming, the answer is yes. Sanaa is 42 and Colin is 25 (he’ll be 26 in November) so there’s a 16 plus year age difference. Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul made a cameo on Saturday Night Live last night in a season-opening faux press conference by President Barack Obama. On the eve of the Breaking Bad finale , and with Affordable Care Act health care exchanges set to open Tuesday, Paul made a heartfelt pitch for Obamacare. Or Jesse Pinkman did, we should say. Take a look (4:25): Aaron Paul on Saturday Night Live Paul, as his Emmy-winning character, described how a certain friend of his in New Mexico could have benefited from Obama’s signature legislation. Because there was no Obamacare, Jesse’s unnamed friend was forced to undergo drastic measures to pay for his treatment and provide for his family: Cooking massive amounts of meth and murdering people. Not just standard murders, either. He blew some guy’s face off and hit nine people in under two minutes. All because of his health care woes. Thank goodness Obamacare passed, right? Seriously. Aaron also appeared later on the SNL season premiere on Weekend Update, alongside another man who knows about addiction, Drunk Uncle … Aaron Paul on SNL Weekend Update Paul is flying back across the U.S. tonight for the series finale screening at Hollywood Forever cemetery in Hollywood. Tina Fey returned to Saturday Night Live last night for its season opener, and to the surprise of no one, stole the show at her old NBC stomping grounds. “How am I going to demand the best table at subway if I don’t have a TV show?” Fey deadpanned of her SNL encore during a classic opening monologue. In addition to poking fun at the Tina Fey nipple slip from the Emmys, the opening routine also channeled Miley Cyrus Twerking and much more.
