Source: MediaNews Group/Torrance Daily Breeze via Getty Images / Getty College Student Murdered After Getting Into Wrong Car Samantha Josephson, a South Carolina college senior who disappeared Friday night after getting into the wrong car, was murdered, Columbia Police confirmed on Saturday night. According to police, Josephson got into the wrong car after hailing an Uber. An Uber did arrive but could not find her, and the student ended up never returning home or answering any of the repeated calls from her friends, who ended up calling police. Josephson’s body was discovered by hunters on Saturday morning. The police have charged 25-year-old Nathaniel Rowland after tracking down the black Chevy Impala that Josephson was shown entering in surveillance footage. He was driving the car only two blocks from where Josephson was last seen the night prior and police said the car had blood in the passenger seat and the trunk. Police also ended up finding bleach and other cleaning supplies in the car, which they believe he was going to use to scour the vehicle. The car also had automatic child safety locks which prevented its passengers from opening the car doors from the inside. “I will miss and love my baby girl for the rest of life,” Samantha’s father, Seymour Josephson, wrote on his Facebook page following the horrific news. Josephson’s death was the third in less than a week across the University of South Carolina system. On Monday, a student committed suicide and on Friday, baseball player Parker Neff passed away after he collapsed on the field during a game. “The loss of a student is never easy but this has been a particularly painful few days as we have experienced loss on several of our campuses,” USC president Harris Pastides said in a statement. “As a family, let’s continue to pray for all the families experiencing heartache and grief this week.”

In a letter to the judge, Assistant U.S. Attorney Sagar Ravi pushed for the Yeezy model to serve 12 to 18 months behind bars because of the seriousness of her fraud and identity theft, noting that the prison term will send a message to others not to do the same thing. Ravi also said the public needs to be protected from her. “Plain and simple, this was a crime of opportunity – a crime the defendant committed out of greed to maintain the image she sought to portray on social media,” Ravi’s letter to the judge – which was obtained by BOSSIP – states. Yesterday, we revealed that Clermont’s lawyer had begged the judge for mercy for his client, claiming that she stole only because of extreme financial hardship and even started a foundation to help people struggling with mental illness. The federal attorney also pointed out that Clermont started the foundation only after she pled guilty and was facing sentencing. Last November, Clermont pled guilty to one count of wire fraud, admitting she’d stolen the debit card information of a man was paid to spend time with who later died, racking up more than $22,000 in fraudulent charges. She also admitted that she later stole her victim’s identity in order to try to wire $1,000 to herself. Ravi also revealed details of the night of what he called her “prostitution date” with the unnamed victim. Using the name “Audrey,” Ravi said Clermont spent three hours with the man, who was found dead the next morning alongside a broken used condom, baggies of coke and a fentanyl pill. Clermont has maintained that her victim just passed out on the bed and she stole his card details and left. Clermont is scheduled to be sentenced next week in Manhattan Federal Court.

Derick Dillard has a reputation for saying truly hateful and idiotic things on social media. The most famous example, of course, is Derick’s transphobic tirade against fellow TLC star Jazz Jennings, That rant got Derick fired from Counting On but apparently, it didn’t teach him to refrain from courting controversy on the internet. In addition to his presence on Twitter and Instagram, Derick sometimes takes to his family’s webpage in order to blog about his beliefs. His latest post, entitled “Confessions of a Christ-Seeking Millennial” is receiving quite the mixed reaction from fans — which is probably just what Derick wanted. “If you’re married (to a Christian or not), ‘the one’ is always going to be who you are married to. My ‘one’ is always Jill Michelle Dillard,” Derick wrote. That’s certainly an innocent — and even laudable — sentiment, but for many readers, Derick’s insights went off the rails shortly thereafter. Derick discussed his life as a series of “calculated risks,” and to the surprise of many, he listed marrying Jill Duggar as one of those risks. We suppose that’s the case with every marriage, but for many readers, it came as a shock that Derick articulated that thought. He went on to surprise fans further by encouraging them to “settle” rather than holding out for their ideal partner. “If you aren’t married, don’t wait for a perfect person because you’ll just die single,” Derick wrote. As far as Duggar ideas about marriage go, this one is fairly non-controversial. There’s a school of thought which holds that the idea of a “soul mate” is absurd, and single people should focus on building healthy relationships, rather than seeking out flawless mates. But coming as it did in the context of a blog post about his life and marriage, many took Derick’s comments as an indication that he believes he settled for Jill. That’s probably not what Derick meant — but then again, the man likes stirring up controversy, so who knows? We’ve got to get more help and some answers to the pain and awful side effects of all I’ve endured. Hopefully a specialist or someone who knows more about immunotherapy can help. If you’ve recovered from bowel surgery, did probiotics help? I’m the thinnest I’ve been in my life and I just don’t think I can lose any more weight. The fact is that my bowels are working overtime, rumbling all hours of the night and churning whatever food I had into mush. I’ve been trying to keep hydrated and gain weight but the food just doesn’t stay with me. I drink a lot of electrolytes and I haven’t been puking which is a nice change. Cannabis has helped with appetite/sleep but these pain killers also feel like they are destroying my gut. That’s all my life has been pretty much since I got out in October so that’s why I don’t post much, even though I know you guys are cool with me complaining here and there. So, we’re doing this again. I’m not sure I’ll be admitted immediately. I appreciate any advice you have on what you’ve been through. I’m not giving up hope, My body can get through this. According to Aol.com, Mayday was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer back in 2013, around the same time she was offered two modeling contracts. She went ahead with her dream, while simultaneously using photos in magazines and on social media to document her fight against the disease. “When Mayday started posting about her ovarian cancer in 2013, she had 30,000 followers on Facebook. Her official fanpage page now has nearly 500,000,” Aol reports. Mayday showed her scars, talked about what it was like to have ovarian cancer, and documented unexpected hair loss. Due to the type of chemotherapy she was receiving, it was unlikely Mayday lose her hair, but when she did, she told her followers: “Our beauty comes out if we accept the changes we must face and allow ourselves to just embrace our differences. My beauty doesn’t come from my hair, no, my beauty comes from within.” Mayday’s family announced her passing on her social media, saying in the post: “She dreamed of making an impact on people’s lives. After 2 weeks I started to notice it come out in my brush. I thought, ah its cause I’m sitting in one spot, I’m not brushing it much, yada yada… Then it really wouldn’t stop. It was annoying, I was tying it up and it would come out with the tie. So I just got rid of it. I’m not upset. I am excited to see how it comes back. I’m also happy to have this second opportunity to show women they can beautiful without hair. All that beauty we hold in our heart comes out through in our eyes, our smiles, the glow of our skin and the way we speak.
