Robert Bork, whose long political career was most noteworthy for his controversial rejection from the Supreme Court in the 1980s, has died at the age of 85. Son Robert H. Bork Jr. confirmed his father died at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, Va. The son said Bork died from complications of heart ailments . The brilliant, blunt Bork’s confirmation hearings helped draw the modern boundaries of cultural fights over abortion, civil rights and other issues. The Senate denied him confirmation and a spot on the court, 58-42. Earlier in life, Bork was accused of being a partisan hatchet man for Richard Nixon. As the third-ranking official at the Justice Department, he fired Watergate special prosecutor Archibald Cox in the “Saturday Night Massacre” of 1973. Attorney General Elliot Richardson resigned rather than fire Cox. The next in line, William Ruckelshaus, refused to fire Cox and was himself fired. But it was Bork’s drubbing during the 1987 Senate nomination hearings made him a hero to the right and a rallying cry for younger conservatives. The experience embittered Bork and hardened many of his positions, even as it gave him prominence as an author and popularity on the speaking circuit. Kenneth Weinstein, head of the Washington think-tank Hudson Institute where Bork was a distinguished fellow, said in response to his passing: “Robert Bork was a giant, a brilliant and fearless legal scholar, and a gentleman whose incredible wit and erudition made him a wonderful Hudson colleague.” Known before his nomination by Ronald Reagan as an expert on antitrust law, Bork became widely known as a conservative cultural critic in the ensuing years.
This was supposed to be another ‘routine’ traffic stop , but this chick took things too far after getting her goodies off while she violated both women. According to The Daily Mail , she used the same gloves on both women too…SMH. Two Texas women are suing after state troopers subjected them to a humiliating and invasive ‘roadside body cavity search’ that was caught on video. Female trooper Kellie Helleson is seen in the footage aggressively searching the private parts of Angel Dobbs, 38, and her niece, Ashley Dobbs, 24, in front of passing cars. The women, who claim the trooper used the same rubber glove for both of them, were initially stopped by Helleson’s colleague David Farrell on State Highway 161 near Irving after he saw one of them throw a cigarette butt out the window. Farrell can be heard in the disturbing video questioning the pair about herb though he failed to find any evidence of the drug in the vehicle. However, he requested the women be searches after allegedly claiming they were ‘acting weird.’ The lawsuit states he then tried to ‘morph this situation into a DWI investigation,’ according to the Dallas Morning News. Angel Dobbs passed a roadside sobriety test and the women were given warnings for littering. Angel Dobbs said Helleson irritated a cyst she suffers from during the search, causing her ‘severe and continuing pain and discomfort.’ The suit said: ‘Angel Dobbs was overwhelmed with emotion and a feeling of helplessness and reacted stating that Helleson had just violated her in a most horrific manner.’ The two women are also suing the director of the Texas Department of Public Safety, Steven McCraw, who they claim ignored previous complaints about ‘unlawful strip searches, cavity searches and the like.’ The Dobbs’ lawyer, Scott H. Palmer, said the shocking incident, which was filmed on one of the trooper’s dash-mounted cameras, was a roadside ‘assault.’ He said the Texas Rangers investigated his clients’ complaints but failed to take any action against the troopers. ‘You can see what’s happening clearly,’ he told the Dallas Morning News of the video. ‘No one’s ever seen the likes of this. This bitter lunatic had her 13-year-old son tie the poor puppy up… after he gifted the lil’ guy to her 5-year-old daughter. According to The Daily Mail , Trooper is recovering after being dragged down the highway: A woman has been charged with felony animal cruelty after she allegedly tied a pit bull puppy behind her ex-husband’s car before he unwittingly dragged the dog behind him for a mile along a highway. Benetta Johnson, 41, is accused of instructing her 13-year-old son to tie the puppy behind the truck in a bid to secretly return the dog the man had given to her 5-year-old daughter as a present. Victor Washington, 39, of St Louis, Missouri, has said that he didn’t know the puppy – now named Trooper – was attached to his vehicle on the morning of November 21 before he drove off – a claim St Louis police say is supported by surveillance footage outside his home. Heading into work that morning, Mr Washington was on I-55 when a woman frantically signaled for him to stop. Once he pulled over, he made a discovery so horrifying that he fled about 100 yards to escape its sight. Crumpled and bloody, he said the dog never made a sound while lying limp on the roadway. I was just so devastated by what I saw,’ Mr Washington told the St Louis Post-Dispatch. ‘It still makes me emotional just thinking about it.’ He initially told police he had never seen the dog before, not realizing it as the puppy he had given to Johnson’s daughter several months earlier. It was a gift Johnson had tried to return to him before. Washington said it was only after a flurry of media attention to capture the culprit – with rewards doubling to $5,000 – that he texted Johnson, asking: ‘Please tell me you still have that dog.’ ‘She told me she did,’ he told the paper. But weeks before the incident, he said Johnson called him complaining about the puppy, saying the animal was sick and too timid. She wanted him to take the dog back but he admits having been upset by the request and brushed it off. Footage taken outside Washington’s apartment complex on the night of November 20 shows a car pull up to his truck around 10pm. He recognized it as his ex-wife’s. Her son can then be seen leading the animal to the back of the truck, attaching him to the hitch of the trailer, and walking away. Mr Washington said that he likely did not see the canine because it was either hiding or taking a snooze under the truck. ‘He must have been asleep,’ Mr Washington said. ‘She said he was a really shy dog, so maybe he didn’t want to come out if he saw me.’ Johnson was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of felony animal abuse. Mr Washington doesn’t think Johnson intended for him to take off with the dog tied to his truck. He told the Post-Dispatch: ‘This whole situation is just so sad. Sad for the dog. Sad for my ex-wife. I mean, just because she’s my ex-wife I don’t want to see her go to jail. She has kids,’ he said. ‘It was an ignorant mistake she made. But she is a sweet person, and I don’t think she would just leave him there thinking this would happen,’ he said after her arrest. Today, the golden pit bull once bandaged from his ears down to his toes, is recuperating under close watch at the Humane Society of Missouri after his harrowing rescue. Seen today with two leg casts, a raw right ear and a soft knit jersey made for a baby over his body for warmth, Trooper’s status has largely improved. The puppy, which doctors feared may not survive, was admitted with exposed tissue and bone. The humane society reports that along with numerous treats, cards and donations coming in, they have had ‘overwhelming’ interest to adopt the dog. They say that due to the extent of his injuries, however, they expect a still long road to recovery before he is able to leave veterinarians’ care. That’s an opportunity Mr Washington hopes he’s equally entitled to. ‘I owe that much to that puppy,’ he told the Post-Dispatch, promising he’d give it a good home. ‘Because I gave it to the wrong people.’ Do you think she knew what she was doin’ and just didn’t give an ish? The Real Housewives of Beverly HIlls brought back “Oy, Faye” to do Kyle’s dirty work. We recap all the bullying and back stabbing in our THG +/- review… We revisit Paul and Adrienne’s tirade at Mauricio’s event and Kyle’s very upset about Brandi throwing out the F-word. Hmm…apparently Paul screaming and calling Brandi a b*tch multiple times is OK though because in Kyle’s opinion he’s just defending his wife. Minus 12 for the double standard. Taylor’s practically hyperventilating. That type of violent behavior from a man towards a woman hits all of her buttons but Kyle’s got little sympathy for the former abuse victim. According to Kyle, “This is not about you, Taylor. Moving on.” Minus 15 . Taylor takes her moment to make a dig about the tendency these women have for exploiting personal issues to the public. She’s still ticked off at Camille for revealing her husband’s abuse on camera. Camille insists this is completely different but minus 20 because how the heck are we suppose to know if no one will let the viewers in on Adrienne’s big secret? Finally Kyle gets around to telling off her sister. Plus 10 . Kim definitely could have picked a more private moment to break the bad news…whatever it may be. Kim insists she was just being a good friend…but she fails to realize she was being a lousy sister. But Kim does bring up a good point. This entire mess started because Kyle pushed Brandi for answers about her rift with Adrienne. Minus 9 . She got her answers. Be careful what you wish for. Yolanda manages to stay out of the fray. She’s off with her personal trainer and now I see how she keeps her model figure. Plus 18. Not to mention that her trainer is 57 and looks 37. Talk about a testament to the power of exercise. Kim takes her son Chad who is turning 21 to Vegas for his birthday. Before going she checks out the AA meetings there. Plus 25. That’s a positive step for being prepared for the inherent challenges of a party town like Las Vegas and shows that Kim’s taking responsibility for her sobriety. She also blew off her sister who didn’t get an invite to the party. I suppose Kim just didn’t need one more stressor and right now that’s what Kyle is for her. Luckily for Kim, she’s out of town when Kyle manages to throw yet another dinner party from Hell. Kyle considers disinviting Brandi but decides that would be rude. Minus 20 because apparently letting one guest bully another isn’t. So once again we get to spend an evening with Faye. Why? The woman is a loud mouth bully. She’s also a good friend of Adrienne so anyone with half a brain can see where this is headed. Brandi admits she would have backed out of the party if Kyle had wanted her to. Plus 10. I’m sure she wishes she had. Instead Kyle encouraged her to come so she could deal with Faye. Brandi tries to side step the issue but Faye’s not about to let it go. Then Faye and Kyle insist that Brandi needs to send Adrienne flowers and an apology. Minus 13 . Seriously, does anyone think a bouquet of flowers is going to fix this? Everyone at the table is completely uncomfortable except for Faye who is in her glory. if Kyle wasn’t the biggest trouble maker of the group she’d tell her guest that this was no longer a topic of discussion and move things along. Minus 22. She’s not about to do that because she loves the drama as much as anyone no matter what she says. When Marisa tries to point out that this is a private matter between Adrienne and Brandi, Faye will have none of it. Not only won’t she let Marisa have a part of the conversation, she continues to harass Brandi until she leaves. Minus 25. With all of their talk about mean girls, Kyle and Faye only need to look in a mirror to find them. Episode total = -73! Season total = -171!

Former Saturday Night Live star and conservative activist Victoria Jackson has made a series of controversial comments in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School murders. She harshly criticized President Barack Obama, which is hardly surprising, but her comments on killer Adam Lanza raised eyebrows – even by Jackson standards. Of the Newtown, Conn., shooting, Jackson posted on Facebook, quoting a friend: “Wasn’t the Connecticut killer just doing what abortionists do every day?” “It’s a wonder we don’t have more 20-year-old ‘dads’ doing what women and doctors have been an accomplice to for years. When you forget the TEN COMMANDMENTS, THIS is what you get’.” While one outraged person said that Jackson should have to “go before all of the families that lost loved ones” with her views, that didn’t stop her for a second. The Tea Party supporter went on to criticize President Barack Obama, claiming his pro-choice views are tantamount to mass murder along Lanza’s lines. Jackson wrote: “Obama dramatically wiped a tear as he said, ‘The majority of those who died today were children – beautiful little kids … They had their entire lives ahead of them.” “YEAH OBAMA. SAME AS THE MILLION BABIES YOU HAD ABORTED THIS YEAR IN AMERICA. ARE YOU CRYING FOR THEM?!” Jackson, who describes herself as being “an outspoken activist for the conservative movement,” on Facebook, may be understating the outspoken part. In President Obama’s Newtown speech last night, he called for America to ask “hard questions” about itself and whether we are doing all we can to care for our children. I’m Holly and on November 12th, 2012, I met Justin Bieber. Two nights before the concert my friend told me she had an extra ticket to Justin’s Barclays Center concert. I went over to her house the night before the concert and we made t-shirts, posters and notes for Justin. After we made the posters and t shirts I went home. My friend called me crying saying that her sister had won the Bieberfever merchandise contest and had won two meet & greets. I thought she was crying because she was happy so I began to cry too thinking I was going to meet him. Her sister said she wasn’t taking either of us and that she was taking her friend instead. So the next day we had to go to Barclays early so that they could get in line for the meet & greet. We waited outside about an hour just waiting to be let inside for the concert, when all of a sudden an Australian man comes up to us. He was holding an envelope and was on the phone talking to someone. My friend backed away shaking her head thinking he was going to abduct us or something. He took two yellow Justin Bieber wristbands out of the envelope and said, “Do you guys want these?” I immediately asked him how much they were thinking, they would be over a thousand dollars. He said, “Nothing, they’re free.” I started crying asking if it was a joke and he said, “No why would I do that?” We asked him how he got them and he said that his daughter had 4 and only needed 2, so she sent him to find two girls who needed them . He put his daughter on the phone and we talked to her and thanked her. When we got into the meet & greet I made sure to get right next to Justin. He was the sweetest person I have ever met. I walked in and immediately started to cry. Justin said, “How ya doin’ sweetheart?” I cried so hard and took the picture. When we were leaving I looked Justin in the eyes and said, “I love you so much.” He said back to me, “I love you too.” That night I also met Dan Kanter, Scrappy, and Jaden Smith. It’s all falling apart for the Kardashians. According to the tabloid world, at least. With Kris Jenner divorce chatter heating up, In Touch Weekly now claims Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom are in more trouble than ever. And it all stems from the professional baller being spotted recently with two brunettes in Oklahoma City. “He went out the backdoor and it looked like he was about to leave with them,” club patron Teresa Witt tells the magazine. “I immediately wondered, ‘Why is Lamar in an alley in the middle of the night with two gorgeous girls? Did he and Khloé split up?’” They haven’t, but rumors continue to circulate surrounding the Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom marriage. Moreover, this wasn’t the first time in the past couple months that Odom has been spotted in the company of other females. “Khloé’s biggest fear is Lamar traveling,” her friend says, referencing Los Angeles Clippers’ road trips. “She knows how he gets with his buddies.” Odom, meanwhile, is only averaging 2.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per game this season.
