Wallpaper. Drops Best Video ‘Everrr,’ Because He Can

‘I was trying to spend as much of the label’s money as possible,’ he tells MTV News of new live-action clip for ‘F—ing Best Song Everrr.’ By James Montgomery Wallpaper. You’re probably wondering why Bay Area party-meister Wallpaper. decided it was time to make a live-action video for his breakout track “F—ing Best Song Everrr,” especially since the animated version has already racked up millions of views. Well, it’s pretty simple, actually: Because he wanted to. “Why make a live-action video after the cartoon video was so dope?” he asked rhetorically. “The bottom line is, I was trying to spend as much of the label’s money as possible.” So, budgets be damned, on Thursday (April 26), we finally got the world premiere of said live-action clip, an avant-garde exploration of man’s deepest desires, a willfully difficult dissertation on the battle between the moralism of the super ego and the hedonism of the id. Not really. Actually, it’s mostly about people getting sh–faced and vomiting confetti. Margaritas are also served. And that’s basically what the self-proclaimed “virtual-media hustler and disco-ball-busting crowd destroyer” was looking for. After all, even though his song may come with a rather braggadocious title, it’s really about those moments of reckless abandon when the song you’re listening to takes on epic proportions and you lose yourself in the moment. Maybe margaritas have been served, and perhaps you actually will throw up some glitter. “The song isn’t necessarily the best song ever,” he explained. “It’s about having the kind of night or the kind of moment where any record feels like the best song ever.” And love him or hate him, you’ve got to give Wallpaper. some credit: It takes genuine smarts to create a track (and video) like “F—ing Best Song Everrr,” which delights in getting supremely, sublimely stoopid. On Friday April 13th, after all these years I finally met Justin…

On Friday April 13th, after all these years I finally met Justin Bieber.  I have been trying for years to meet Justin, and every time I got let  down. I was in Florida and I had heard Justin was coming to a  middle school in Boca, so obviously I made an arrangement so sleep in  Boca the night before, and wait outside the school the next day for  Justin to drive in. When I got to the school it was about 11:00am, and  Justin was arriving at 1:00pm. No one was there besides me, my friends  and some news reporters. We got a lot of interviews. As it drew closer  to 1pm, more and more people starting to arrive at the school. We all  checked each car thinking it was Justin. Finally it was around 1:25pm,  and a beige truck pulled in. Justin rolled down the window, and all  the fans ran to his car. I knew there was no way of getting in front  to the window. I just stood there. After Justin was done saying hi  and signing autographs, he slowly drove into the school. I then chased  his car into the school, and most of the girls followed. I was chasing  the car and finally it stopped. Justin rolled down the window and said,  “Let me take your picture”. Justin took my picture and then drove  away, only mine and no one  else’s . I felt so special. After everyone  ran away I stayed in the parking lot and found his car with the driver  inside. The driver secretly told me he was coming out the back.  5 other girls and myself went to the back of the school. It was  pouring  rain and  Justin’s car came out and he stopped of course. He started to talk to  all of us and Pattie was saying, “Don’t worry he’ll take as many  pictures as you want”. Someone else in the car was yelling that he had  somewhere to go. I screamed at Justin to stay with us and not leave. H e tried to tell the driver to stop but they were slowly pulling  away. “Wait, I never got a picture!” I said. Justin answered with, “Yes  you did, don’t think I forgot stopping the car for you.” That was the  best moment of my life! Justin remembered me and purposely stopped for  me. Pattie was laughing because I screamed on the top of my lungs!  Hopefully, I will be lucky enough to meet Justin again. Who knows,  maybe hell even remember me. -@emilyhalp  Read more from the original source: On Friday April 13th, after all these years I finally met Justin…

Tim Burton ‘Never’ Considered ‘Dark Shadows’ A Comedy

Director also opens up on ‘Beetlejuice’ sequel and whether he’d return to ‘Batman.’ By John Mitchell, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Johnny Depp in “Dark Shadows” Photo: Warner Bros Fans of the classic late-’60s soap “Dark Shadows” were surprised when the trailer for the film made it seem like director Tim Burton had reimagined his subject matter as a farcical comedy rather than the dark, Gothic soap opera fans remembered. Since then, there have been whispers that the film is far darker than it is being marketed, so we went straight to the source to find out what is really up with the buzzed-about film. At CinemaCon 2012, MTV News asked Burton if he felt the trailer is reflective of his film, which hits theaters May 11, and while he admits there are humorous elements to the film, he said he doesn’t believe it can be classified as a comedy. “Everything that’s in [the trailer] is in the movie,” Burton told MTV News. “It’s a funny film for me, because I never considered it a comedy. I was always trying to capture the weird vibe of ‘Dark Shadows,’ which is a weird thing to try to capture. It was a weird daytime soap opera.” Burton, a longtime “Shadows” fan who said he “recalls the show affectionately,” said that whatever humor is in the film is there because the situation Barnabas is in when he is unearthed 200 years after being buried is innately humorous. “It’s not like I’m being campy with it or anything,” Burton said. “The guy’s been locked in a box for 200 years, and [when] he comes out … something weird is going to happen.” As for comparisons to his previous films, most notably “Edward Scissorhands,” Burton said he can see the link, but confessed that there are many subtle differences between Barnabas Collins and any other character he’s put onscreen. “Edward Scissorhands was more of a naive character. Barnabas has been around the block a few times,” Burton told MTV News with a laugh. “There is something about a character who doesn’t quite fit into the world, which is similar, just in this case, he’s been around a long time.” Burton also gave us up-to-date news on one project many of his biggest fans are very excited for: “Beetlejuice 2.” The film is being written by “Shadows” scribe Seth Grahame-Smith, and for Burton, that’s as far as things have gotten. “He’s working away on it,” the director said of Grahame-Smith, “so I’m just waiting to see what he does.” As for whether we can expect him to make a return to “Batman,” the film franchise he started with the original 1989 blockbuster, he was straight to the point, saying, “I think I have enough on my plate.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Dark Shadows.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . TLC’s Left Eye Remembered: 10 Years Later

As one-third of the iconic girl group, the feisty Lisa Lopes blazed a trail for today’s rebellious pop sirens. By Rebecca Thomas Left Eye Photo: Getty Images In an era when being as bold as you wanna be can be good for business, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, one-rebellious-third of the iconic girl group TLC , might not have seemed like an anomaly among the Rihannas, Katys and Britneys. But back in the early 1990s, you were bound to arch a few eyebrows if your thing was to rock condoms as eye patches and spit verses like, “If I need it in the morning or the middle of the night, I ain’t too proud to beg.” Philadelphia-born Lisa was just barely out of her teens in 1991, when she joined a trio under the direction of manager Perri “Pebbles” Reid, an R&B singer herself and then-wife of LaFace Records co-founder Antonio “LA” Reid. Left Eye, Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas would release their debut album, Ooooooohhh … On the TLC Tip, the following year. The unlikely uniform was sagging baggy Guess jeans, hats to the back and oversize tees decorated with safe-sex latex, and the sound (mostly courtesy of producer Dallas Austin) was an in-your-face blend of pop, rap and R&B, with some New Jack Swing for good measure. Don’t forget that all that racy talk and those Trojan sunglasses were actually brave messages about the HIV-AIDS epidemic that would eventually give way to Left Eye’s poignant bars on songs like “Waterfalls.” By the time of her death , 10 years ago today (April 25) at age 30, Left Eye and her groupmates had seemingly locked down every imaginable accolade. Four Grammys and just as many multiplatinum albums, a stream of chart-crushing singles (“No Scrubs,” “Creep”), not to mention the coveted rank of second-best-selling girl group of all time (the Spice Girls sit at #1). But before she was killed in a tragic car accident on a spiritually-minded trip to Honduras, the rapping third of TLC had also weathered her fair share of drama. With the release in 1994 of the group’s diamond-selling Crazy Sexy Cool, the trio took the opportunity to play on fans’ perception of their particular personas: Georgia girl Chilli brought the sexy, gravelly voiced T-Boz played it cool and Left Eye was “the crazy one.” If these were supposed to be symbolic tags, Lopes perhaps had her own interpretation. Feeling underappreciated, she set fire to a pile of sneakers belonging to NFL boyfriend Andre Rison that ultimately left his Georgia home in flames and the singer in handcuffs. The couple only made more headlines as allegations of cheating and even domestic abuse dogged them. But who could forget the famous Vibe mag cover of the girls dressed in firemen clothes and meeting the media maelstrom head-on? The fiercely independent Lopes took on her label — and then her bandmates. Never mind that 1999’s FanMail (email was kind of a big deal back then!), their third effort together, spawned massive hits like “Scrubs” and the poignant anthem “Unpretty,” Left Eye thought her contributions were being diminished. So she outright challenged Chilli and T-Boz to record solo albums that would be bundled and sold for fans to decide which of the three CDs was best. When that didn’t pan out, Left Eye simply moved on and recorded a solo effort, Supernova, which saw an overseas release but not much traction. In the end, what fans wanted was TLC: beauty, brains, swagger, and each member exhibited all three qualities in her own way. In Left Eye, who told MTV News in a late-90s interview that she really admired “Cosby Show” actress Lisa Bonet (a.k.a. boho icon Denise Huxtable), girls, in particular, had a model for going your own way. Her indie streak was as pronounced as the football stripe painted beneath her eye, and that’s as much her legacy as the music. Share your favorite TLC songs in the comments or on our Facebook page! OMG, watch him slow jam the news: President Obama

My name is Sarah, I am 13 years old and I am Brazilian. I do not…

My name is Sarah, I am 13 years old and I am Brazilian. I do not have much money, and my mother could not pay for my ticket and she and my father did not want to give me money to buy them. I decided to enter all current promotions to go to his concert in Sao Paulo (where I live). Finally it was the day of the concert and my mom’s heart was sinking knowing that she could not give me that ticket, and how sad I was because every day I cried and kept asking her. As usual I was on Twitter. I had given up about going to the show, and then I saw my messages that said, “You won”. I asked one of them what I had won? I ended up winning meet & greets and track premium tickets! I had completely forgotten about this promotion. I quickly called the company. I had won for the next day! Some people on Twitter sent me messages saying that I did not deserve it, but I said I won because God wanted me to. The next day I was so excited. I hardly slept the night before. Arriving at the stadium my heart started beating very fast and I was very anxious. Mr. Justin Drew Bieber was a little late for the meeting. At the time, five girls came in to meet him along with myself. After taking the photo, one of the girls hugged him, and I wanted to hug him too, but he seemed shy. When I decided to embrace him, Kenny stopped me because time had run out.  On the way out I met Scooter. I stopped to say hi to him and he waved. I saw the bands Cobra Starship, The Wanted a Brazilian band. Finally the love of my life Justin came on stage. I thank God, Midiorama, and Justin, it was the best day of my life. In the picture I’m the last on the right. Justin, I hope you know that October 9, 2011 will forever be the best day of my life. The Wanted’s ‘Chasing The Sun’ Teaser: Watch It Here!

The boy band will premiere the full video tonight at 7:53 ET during ‘MTV First: The Wanted.’ By Christina Garibaldi The Wanted’s “Chasing the Sun” music video Photo: Universal Music Group The Wanted are set to premiere their much-anticipated video for their second U.S. single, “Chasing the Sun,” tonight on MTV. And before the British boy band introduce the full clip and answer fans’ questions, they gave us a little teaser. In the 30-second clip, the fivesome travel the streets of Los Angeles in the middle of the night, with a pack of girls clinging to each of the boys. Intercut with shots of the band on a rooftop singing the chorus of the track, it seems as if the group is literally chasing the sun. Coming up to a gated door, member Tom Parker flashes what looks to be a sun tattoo on his hand, and the guard lets him pass into the sunlight. Not much of the plot is given away in this clip, but when we caught up with the group on the set of the video earlier this month, they teased to their fans what they can expect. “Our song ‘Chasing the Sun’ is basically about the party that keeps on going,” Jay McGuiness said, with pal Max George giving a bit more insight into how that will manifest in the clip: “There’s certain shots which we’ve just done now which are on a rooftop, and then we’re filming all night until 6 in the morning, and then the last shot, I think, will be us just kind of walking away looking rather disheveled,” George explained. This is the third video of the Wanted’s that has been helmed by Director X, who previously worked on the video for their smash single, “Glad You Came.” “You always want to do better than your last song, and we’ve always set a really high standard with ‘Glad You Came’ already,” McGuiness said. “But I think we know now from the singles we’ve got in our pocket, there’s no way we’re going anywhere. We’re here to stay, and our songs are going to get better and better. I’m just bragging right now so hard.” Well, see if the Wanted live up to their expectations when they down with MTV News’ Sway Calloway tonight at 7:53 ET on MTV during “MTV First: The Wanted.” Immediately following the premiere, the band will stay for an additional 30-minute live Q&A on MTV.com and will be taking fan questions, so make sure you submit them via MTV.com or @MTVNews on Twitter, using the hashtags #MTVFirst or #AskTheWanted.
