Kristin Cavallari Hides Party Evidence, On ‘When I Was 17’

Next episode, also featuring Lenny Kravitz and Bryan Greenberg, airs Saturday at 11 a.m. on MTV. By Lauren Kearney Kristin Cavallari Photo: Frazer Harrison/ Getty Images We all remember party girl and badass Kristin Cavallari from ” The Hills ,” and the die-hard “Hills” fans remember where it all began: “Laguna Beach.” On this week’s episode of “When I Was 17,” Kristin takes us back in time to her “Laguna Beach” days, rehashing a Halloween rager that almost went off without a hitch. “When I was 17, my Dad got remarried and went away on his honeymoon, so I threw a huge Halloween party,” Kristin recalls on the latest episode, premiering Saturday at 11 a.m. on MTV and also featuring Lenny Kravitz and Bryan Greenberg. “Everyone was dressed up for Halloween, which makes it that much more fun. We were definitely dancing. We were drinking. My house was filled with people.” The next day, Kristin cleaned the entire house until it was spotless, leaving no evidence of the party the night before. Or so she thought. “I thought I did such a good job. And then my dad and my stepmom came home, and apparently I just missed one beer can under the couch, and that’s what my Dad found.” Busted! But we’re glad Kristin decided not to change her partying ways. After all, what would “Laguna Beach” have been without the party girl? Don’t miss this week’s episode of “When I Was 17,” featuring Kristin Cavallari, Lenny Kravitz and Bryan Greenberg, at 11 a.m. Saturday on MTV. Some Morning Handsome: Idris Elba Talks Early Fatherhood Struggles And Paternity Rumors

In case you missed it, Idris Elba covers the latest issue of Essence Magazine. And in addition to being as gorgeous as always, he talks about the struggle he was living around the time his nine-year-old daughter Isan was born. In the late 1990′s, after his sisterlike friend Marsha Burnett made the move to the U.S., Elba left the night shift at the Ford Motors plant he worked at with his father and hopped the pod with hopes of becoming an actor. “He’d deejay at night, crash on the counch in the apartment I was sharing, and come to my office at Bad Boy Records and just sit in the corner till it was time for the night to start again,” says Burnett. When he’d earned enough, Elba rented a room at the YMCA on 14th Street. Later he moved his wife and record collection from England to an apartment in the East Village, attending auditions by day and hitting clubs where he hoped to deejay at night. But DJ gigs weren’t enough to support his then pregnant wife, and their union was shaky. “That was one of my most desperate times,” says Elba, who had just begun auditioning for The Wire in the winter of 2001. “My marriage was breaking up, the acting wasn’t popping off, she was pregnant… It was like, ‘Ugh!’” He throws his head back dramatically recalling those days. “Those were bleak times.” Despite all of that, fatherhood seems to have turned out pretty well for him.

Lady Gaga Reveals ‘Marry The Night’ Cover Art

Picture released on Twitter shows Gaga posing on car while fire burns behind her. By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga (file) Photo: Alo Ceballos/FilmMagic Lady Gaga is getting her Little Monsters amped up for the “Marry the Night” video . On Monday night, she tweeted out some teases about the New York-based clip. “Just wrapped my 5th music video, can’t wait to unfold all its secrets and share with you moments from my past I have yet to reveal,” she said on the site. “Put Born This Way back in the vessel, for rebirth, as I lay in mine. When too strong to divorce, then buckle up, MARRY THE NIGHT.” Gaga shot the video earlier this month in her hometown. She was spotted all over town filming scenes for the Born This Way single’s video , including at the Snug Harbor Cultural Center in Staten Island. “This is my favorite song on the album. Are you ready [producer] @FERNANDOGARIBAY?” she said. “This one is our baby.” In addition to getting philosophical about the clip, Gaga also shared the cover art for the single, the fifth off her chart-topping album. “Do you want the #MARRY THE NIGHT SINGLE COVER tonight?” the Mother Monster asked her dedicated legion of fans. “If monsters make MARRY THE NIGHT SINGLE COVER the number one trending topic I will release it tonight. Early. SORRY INTERSCOPE! I LOVE THEM!” After Twitter blocked all chances to get the trend going, Gaga defied the rules and released the art anyway. “Even better, you pissed [off] Twitter. Be prepared to Marry the Night at 8pm PST,” she said before dropping it with this message: “New York is Not Just a Tan that You’ll Never Lose.” In the picture , Gaga is dressed in leather, shaking her blond hair around. She’s posing on the wet hood of a car while a fire burns behind her. It looks to be a scene from the video. No word yet on when the clip will premiere. Justin Bieber To Play ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’

Lady Gaga also booked for this year’s show, hosted by Ryan Seacrest. By Gil Kaufman Justin Bieber Photo: Mark Von Holden/ Getty Images Maybe you haven’t made your plans yet, but Justin Bieber knows exactly where he’ll be on New Year’s Eve: Times Square in New York. Bieber has been booked to play live on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2012,” joining Lady Gaga on the 40th anniversary edition of the December 31 staple. The show will help cap a busy holiday season for Bieber, who is preparing to release his first-ever holiday album, Under the Mistletoe, on November 1. The first video, for the song “Mistletoe,” will debut Tuesday (October 18) at 7:54 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. Bieber said he’s excited for fans to check out his mix of holiday standards and new songs. Regarding why he decided on a holiday release as fans wait for the follow-up to My World 2.0, Bieber said, “I was going to put out my album soon anyways, and I was thinking, ‘It’s near Christmastime. If I’m going to release an album near Christmas, I figure maybe I’d just do a Christmas album.’ The fans get more music, and everyone’s happy.” The singer said he picked a mix of his favorite Christmas songs (“Silent Night,” “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”) and new tunes (“Mistletoe,” “Christmas Love”) to offer a little something for everyone. “I picked ‘Santa [Claus is] Coming to Town,’ because everyone loves those songs. Those are classics. They get people excited for Christmas,” he said. “And then, for songs that we wrote, we wanted to make enough new songs for people to hear new music and not just hear some classics. There’s a lot of new stuff on there.” Catch the premiere of Justin Bieber’s “Mistletoe” video Tuesday (October 18) at 7:54 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, with a full interview to follow on MTV.com. Ex-Girlfriend Elise Neal Upset With Rick Ross’ Handlers: “They Don’t Care About His Health”

Read this article:

Rick Ross’ seizures haven’t only raised concern in his fans, but also his ex-girlfriend Elise Neal. After suffering two attacks on two separate planes hours apart from one another on Friday, Neal is speaking up. She told RumorFix : “I hate to say this, but I saw this coming. I think they’re [his record label] pushing him too hard. I know he’s very career driven, but I don’t think they take enough time to care about what they’re doing to his body. They don’t think about him or his health, pushing him to do all these videos, pushing tours and shows. He is not 20 years old anymore — no one seems to care about him really or overall his health.” COUPLE ALERT: Rick Ross & Elise Neal’s Date Night [VIDEO] Rick Ross Covers Vibe Magazine’s ‘Sexy Issue’: Why? Under the Mistletoe is due November 1; the ‘Mistletoe’ video premieres tonight at 7:54 p.m. ET/PT on MTV! By James Montgomery Justin Bieber Photo: MTV News Justin Bieber is about to share his top-secret approach to writing his upcoming holiday album, Under the Mistletoe, with MTV News, but first, there’s something he’d like to clear up: “People get confused: My song is ‘Mistletoe,’ my album is Under the Mistletoe, so don’t get it confused,” he explained. “Don’t get it twisted.” So now you know. And of course, that “Mistletoe” video will premiere tonight at 7:54 p.m. ET/PT on MTV — with a special live stream to follow on MTV.com — giving his fans the first taste of what they can expect on Under the Mistletoe, which is due November 1. It’s a collection of brand-new Bieber songs and his renditions of holiday standards, one he hopes will not only become a classic in its own right, but will tide the True Beliebers over until he releases the proper follow-up to his smash My World 2.0 album . “I was going to put out my album soon anyways, and I was thinking, ‘It’s near Christmastime. If I’m going to release an album near Christmas, I figure maybe I’d just do a Christmas album,’ ” he said. “The fans get more music, and everyone’s happy. “I just picked my favorite Christmas songs. I picked ‘Silent Night,’ I picked ‘Santa [Claus Is] Coming to Town,’ because everyone loves those songs. Those are classics. They get people excited for Christmas,” he continued. “And then, for songs that we wrote, we wanted to make enough new songs for people to hear new music and not just hear some classics. There’s a lot of new stuff on there.” Oh, and as far as that secret songwriting approach, well, it turns out that in order to pen holiday tunes, Bieber forced himself to get in the Christmas spirit — even if he was working on most of the songs in August and September. And how did he do that? He turned to Christmas cookies, of course. “It’s different, because you’ve gotta think Christmastime. You’ve gotta think, ‘What’s at Christmas? Mistletoe, reindeer, Santa, all these things.’ And especially when it’s not Christmastime, it’s hard to really get your mind around it,” he said. “But once you get into it, like, I was really thinking it was Christmastime when I was writing this album. … We had Christmas cookies [in the studio].” Catch the premiere of Justin Bieber’s “Mistletoe” video tonight at 7:54 p.m. on MTV, with a full interview to follow on MTV.com! Future Fulfills Demand With Streetz Calling Mixtape

‘If the streets callin’, I’m answering on the first ring,’ Future tells Mixtape Daily. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Steven Roberts Future Photo: MTV News Main Pick Headliner : Future Representing : Atlanta Mixtape : Streetz Calling Real Spit : These days the demand for Future is pretty high. Just when it seemed folks were getting caught up with his June tape True Story , the “Tony Montana” rapper hooked up with Gucci Mane to drop Free Bricks in July and then returned again in September with Streetz Calling . The rookie may be moving at an accelerated pace, but if you let Future tell it, he doesn’t have much of a choice. “The reason I named the mixtape Streetz Calling is because I had did so many mixtapes and I felt like everybody always say, ‘Future, when you gonna drop a new mixtape? You need to drop another one, you need to drop another one,’ ” he told Mixtape Daily. After building a buzz with his 2010 appearance on YC’s hit single “Racks” and a pair of tapes ( 1000 and Dirty Sprite ), Future now stands as one of rap’s top prospects. It’s a position that he fully embraces on the opening track of Streetz Calling . “Made Myself a Boss” is a self-assuring tale of the rapper’s come-up. The Sonny Digital-produced “Same Damn Time” is just as cocky, as it finds Future bragging on his multi-tasking abilities, while “If You Knew What It Took” is a little more heartfelt. “I’m standing in the middle of the rain, trying wash out this pain,” he sings of his problems on the track’s first verse. Gucci Mane lends some bars on “The Way It Go,” and Duct Tape Entertainment’s Trouble helps out on “E,” but for the most part Future holds his own. With his latest, the “Magic” MC is simply supplying the demand. “I felt like this mixtape, the streets callin’ me to do it,” he said. “If the streets callin’, I’m answering on the first ring.” Joints to Check For

Coldplay/Rihanna Duet ‘Princess Of China’ Leaks Online

Chris Martin has called the hook-up the highlight of Mylo Xyloto. By Gil Kaufman Coldplay’s Chris Martin Photo: Justin Sullivan/ Getty Images Coldplay have performed more than half a dozen of the songs from their upcoming fifth studio album, Mylo Xyloto , in concert over the past year. But the one song that singer Chris Martin has called his favorite , a hookup with Rihanna called “Princess of China,” has remained elusive. That is until Monday morning (October 17) when the tune leaked online and the world finally got a taste of what the first guest vocal on a Coldplay album sounds like. The tune opens with typically epic, widescreen Coldplay fanfare overlaid with Rihanna wailing “Oh, oh whoa whoa oh,” before settling down into a slinky, pulsing R&B beat. Martin is up first, whisper singing, “Once upon a time somebody ran/ Somebody ran away saying as fast as I can/ I got to go/ I got to go,” before Rihanna comes in with the lines, “Once upon a time we weren’t right/ All we ever seemed to do is fight/ On and on/ And on and on and on.” Ri goes on to dream about being a princess in a castle with her king and a ring, before lamenting, “You stole my star/ La la la la la la.” The glitchy, spare keyboards come back in again before the “Whoa whoa oh” chorus explodes once more and the two singers entwine their voices for a chorus of ” ‘Cause you really hurt me” laments. Their vocals seem perfectly matched, with Martin’s falsetto sitting nicely beside Rihanna’s higher range. And like the thumping previously released “Paradise,” the insistent beat on “Princess” is another nod to the more expansive sound on the upcoming album. “Well, her bit on our record is my favorite bit … when the song came out, it sort of asked for her to be on it,” Martin said last month. “And I think at this point, we have nothing to lose, and so we’ve been trying some new things and trying to break down the perceived boundaries between different types of music. … Because from where we’re sitting, it seems like you can try and sound any way you like nowadays. You don’t have to be in a rock box or a hip-hop box or a pop box, and I think it’s fun when you embrace that idea.” The album is due out October 25, and the band will embark on a series of high-profile TV appearances to promote it, including a November 12 slot on “Saturday Night Live” with host Emma Stone. They’ll also drop in at ” The Colbert Report ” on October 20, the “Today” show the next day and “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on October 27.
