Friends and family gathered at Amy’s favorite jazz club on Thursday night. By Gil Kaufman Amy Winehouse Photo: Carlos Alvarez/ Getty Images Amy Winehouse ‘s father, Mitch, made another trip to the late singer’s Camden, England, apartment this week, where fans have kept vigil since the news broke on Saturday that the “Rehab” singer had passed away at age 27. After greeting those supporters on Monday and thanking them for their kind words and offerings to his troubled daughter’s memory, Mitch , along with Amy’s mother, Janis, brother Alex and boyfriend Reg Traviss, came by on Thursday to remove some of the singer’s private effects from her apartment. Read what experts say about the negative effects of the type of instant fame Winehouse received. Mitch surprised some of those gathered outside by handing out a few of Amy’s clothes and accessories, including several tank tops, sunglasses and other trinkets, according to The Sun. “There are Amy’s T-shirts. This is what she would have wanted — for her fans to have her clothes,” he told the stunned fans, as he walked away with a pair of Winehouse’s signature ballet shoes in his back pocket. “God bless Amy Winehouse,” he said before hopping into a taxi. The family also carted off some other possessions, including Amy’s guitars and her lyric books. We explore what Winehouse’s musical legacy will be, beyond “Rehab.” Some of Winehouse’s pals and family got together to celebrate her life at her favorite jazz club on Thursday night. Her divorced parents were joined by Traviss and friends that included Kelly Osbourne and Eliza Doolittle at the Jazz After Dark club in London’s Soho district. Also on hand was producer Mark Ronson, who paid tribute to his muse during a concert the night before, when he performed a selection of Amy’s songs. Plus, Cee Lo Green says he had been hoping to duet with Winehouse this year. By Gil Kaufman Mark Ronson performs a tribute to Amy Winehouse in Greenwich on Wednesday Photo: Matt Kent/ Getty Images The day after attending his friend and musical foil Amy Winehouse’s funeral , producer/band leader Mark Ronson paid tribute to the fallen star at a concert on Wednesday night. According to NME.com , Ronson brought Zutons singer Dave McCabe onstage to play his band’s song “Valerie,” which was famously recorded by Winehouse on Ronson’s 2007 Versions covers album. Ronson, who produced the two most well-known tracks on Winehouse’s 2006 breakthrough Back to Black album, “Rehab” and “You Know I’m No Good,” dedicated “Valerie” to his troubled muse. “It’s really lovely getting to play some music here for you tonight. That’s what makes everything better,” he told the crowd at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, England. “I went to her service yesterday and there was a rabbi that spoke and he said that somebody’s life is measured in deeds and not years and that’s the best thing I heard yesterday. … The genius in that woman and what she shared with us is pretty special. I’m not going to get all morbid on you. It’s just nice to be playing music to people who like good music. She is my sister, wherever she is.” In addition to the version of “Valerie,” Ronson invited members of Winehouse’s backing band onto the stage at one point for another run through “Valerie,” as well as Rumble Strips singer Charlie Waller, who sang a cover of “Back to Black.” Ronson also played “Rehab” during a short DJ set in the middle of the show. Winehouse was found dead in her Camden apartment on Saturday at the age of 27. Initial autopsy results were inconclusive and additional toxicology tests are expected to take two to four weeks. Also on Wednesday, “The Voice” coach and “Forget You” singer Cee Lo Green revealed that despite reports earlier this year that he had recorded a duet with Winehouse for her next album, the two had never actually hooked up. Green told E! News the pair were trying to get together in the studio but never made it happen. “We were discussing working together … we have a mutual friend, Salaam Remi ,” he said of the producer who worked on several tracks on Back to Black . “There was a rumor that we had already recorded together. It wasn’t true and I don’t know where that came from. But we did grow fond of each other and thought we could work together. … I could listen to her and she registered to me as the real thing. … It’s so untimely and unfortunate. What a loss. Music has lost a daughter.” Related Videos Amy Winehouse Remembered Related Photos Amy Winehouse’s Friends And Family Attend Her Funeral Amy Winehouse: A Life In Photos Related Artists Mark Ronson Amy Winehouse

Monday show was in honor of sixth anniversary of his debut LP, Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101. By Alvin Blanco Young Jeezy Photo: MTV News According to , New York is his second home. The Atlanta-based rapper looked quite comfortable onstage Monday night at the Highline Ballroom for a special TM101: Live! show. The performance was in honor of the sixth anniversary of his platinum-selling debut album, Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101. Jeezy ran through other selections from his catalog of commercial and street hits, too, while bringing out a number of special, crowd-hyping guests, including Jay-Z and Kanye West. Doors to the show didn’t open until 9 p.m., and those on a line that stretched down 16th Street who made it past the logjam at the front door and into the venue were greeted by Funkmaster Flex of Hot 97 (the station and The Source magazine were among the event’s sponsors), warming up the crowd with a DJ set. Flex spun a number of favorites, included Jay-Z and Kanye West’s (ahem, the Throne ‘s) “Otis” single , which he played at least a couple of times while boisterously expressing his fondness for the tune. As Flex’s set went on, the crowd swelled, including the VIP section upstairs, where artists like Royce Da 5’9″ and Bun B were in attendance. Jeezy’s band, most dressed in dark suits and fitted baseball caps, finally stepped onstage a little before 11:30 p.m. The “favorite rapper’s favorite rapper” hit the stage dressed in all black and wearing sunglasses, with a few dazzling, diamond-encrusted chains around his neck. He kicked off his set with the rousing “Standing Ovation” from his debut album. Most of the crowd rapped along with Jeezy word for word and did so throughout the nearly two dozen songs he would perform as the night went on. After the opener, Jeezy segued into “Let’s Get It/ Sky’s the Limit” and “Go Crazy,” both from his debut. The latter had already been met with an enthusiastic response as soon as its opening notes were heard. But the crowd reached a fever pitch when an unannounced Jay-Z coolly hit the stage to perform his verse as well. After Hova left the stage, Jeezy went into “Trap Star” and afterwards asked the crowd, “NYC, is y’all riding with me tonight?” The band then went into “Put On,” from the trap star’s third album, The Recession. Kanye West then strode to the stage, sending the crowd into another frenzy as he performed his verse from the song. “I told y’all we just getting started,” said Jeezy after Yeezy exited the stage. The Def Jam rapper then performed more fan favorites from his debut, including “Bottom of the Map,” “Bang” and “Get Ya Mind Right,” before the next guest, Bun B, came on to perform “Trap or Die.” Soon after the UGK legend’s cameo, the band left the stage and Jeezy performed some of his notable remix verses, including Rocko’s “Umma Do Me” and recent G-Unit signee Shawty Lo’s “Dey Know Remix.” The next guest to hit the stage was Fabolous, who performed “Flexin” from Jeezy’s The Real Is Back mixtape from earlier this year. The Brooklyn rapper was then given time to perform his own hit “You Be Killin’ Em,” to the crowd’s delight. He then went into another joint cut with Jeezy called “Rollin’ ” before leaving the stage for good. After demonstrating his crowd-control skills by kicking an a cappella version of “Win” from the Real Is Back mixtape, Jeezy gave up the stage up to the LOX. The native NYC rappers got the crowd amped, performing a medley of their hits including Sheek Louch’s “Kiss Your Ass Goodbye,” Styles P’s “I Get High” and Jadakiss’ “We Gone Make It.” The show hit a lull upon Jeezy’s return with “Tear It Up,” about as close to a slow jam as you’ll get, before the energy inside the Highline Ballroom rose again with “Don’t Get Caught.” He then took it to his sophomore album, The Inspiration, and performed the R. Kelly-assisted “Go Getta” before returning to his debut with the Akon-aided “Soul Survivor.” With the show approaching its close, Jeezy declared that his much-delayed fourth album, Thug Motivation 103, is on the way before launching into “Lose My Mind,” one of said project’s first singles. After calling New York “my second home,” Jeezy closed the show with “I Luv It,” the first single from his Inspiration album. But before leaving the stage to a thunderous ovation, Jeezy made sure to tell the crowd, which was now beginning to head to the exits, that he had just gotten word that TM 103 will be in stores September 20. Doctor reportedly gave her the all clear the night before her death. By Gil Kaufman Amy Winehouse Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images Investigators continue to look into what caused Amy Winehouse’s death at age 27 on Saturday, even as details emerge about the singer’s final hours. On Sunday, her U.K. representative, Chris Goodman, told TMZ that Winehouse was found alone in her bed by a bodyguard who had been hired to keep an eye on her. “She was in her bedroom after saying she wanted to sleep, and when he went to wake her he found she wasn’t breathing,” Goodman said of the troubled star . “He called the emergency services straight away. He was very shocked. At this stage no one knows how she died. She died alone in bed.” Police have called Winehouse’s death “unexplained.” An autopsy is slated to take place on Monday (July 25), with a funeral likely to follow quickly, within the next day or so, as required by Jewish law. Results of the autopsy are not expected before Tuesday. Winehouse’s father, Mitch, a cab driver-turned-lounge-singer, flew back to England on Sunday in the wake of his daughter’s death and visited her Camden apartment on Monday morning. According to BBC News , he thanked her fans, who have gathered in a vigil outside the flat, for their support. “I can’t tell you what this means to us. It really is making this a lot easier for us,” he told the gathered mourners. “Amy was about one thing and that was love. Her whole life was devoted to her family and her friends and to you guys as well.” The singer’s mother, Janis, and brother, Alex, also visited the site to see the collection of flowers, cards and photos that Winehouse’s admirers have left. On Sunday, the family released a statement in which they said, “Our family has been left bereft by the loss of Amy, a wonderful daughter, sister, niece. She leaves a gaping hole in our lives. We are coming together to remember her and we would appreciate some privacy and space at this terrible time.” The quoted Janis Winehouse on Sunday saying that her daughter had not been well a day before her death. “She seemed out of it,” Janis reportedly told the tabloid. “But her passing so suddenly still hasn’t hit me.” England’s Daily Telegraph reported that Winehouse was visited at home by her doctor on Friday night, 24 hours before her body was discovered at 4 p.m. on Saturday. Police sources told the paper that no drugs were found in the house and that the security detail had last spoken to her around 10 a.m. on Saturday, when she said she was going to take a rest in her room. The doctor had reportedly been visiting Winehouse regularly to help her combat the ill effects of her years of drinking and drugging. In 2008, Mitch Winehouse revealed that Amy was suffering from the early stages of the incurable pulmonary ailment emphysema, including scarring in her lungs. “The doctor was happy with her condition. When he left on Friday night he had no concerns. Less than 24 hours later she was found dead,” an unnamed source told The Sun tabloid. “Amy’s health has been very fragile and she has been having a series of checkups.” Winehouse’s final public appearance was last Wednesday, when she joined her goddaughter, Dionne Bromfield, during a show at the Roundhouse in Camden. Though she didn’t sing, Winehouse danced alongside Bromfield and encouraged the audience to buy the teenager’s just-released second album, Good for the Soul, which, like her 2009 debut, was released through Winehouse’s label, Lioness Records. Before that, Winehouse had pulled out of a series of European comeback concerts in June after a disastrous gig in Serbia in which she was booed after appearing unsteady and disheveled onstage. She had reportedly completed a stay in alcohol rehab after that tour cancellation and had been under orders not to drink. On Sunday, dozens of stars, from Lady Gaga and Katy Perry to Rihanna, Russell Brand and Mary J. Blige, paid . Related Photos Amy Winehouse: A Life In Photos Related Artists Amy Winehouse
The most-nominated artist of the 2011 show hasn’t taken home a Moonman yet, but she did take home a husband! By Jocelyn Vena Katy Perry at 2010 VMAs in Los Angeles Photo: WireImage The 2011 VMAs will honor a number of the year’s best artists, but one very kooky, colorful California Gurl is looking to outshine them all: Katy Perry tops the nominees with a whopping nine nods for “E.T.,” “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.),” “Teenage Dream” and “Firework.” Perry has yet to win a Moonman, but the show has played an important role in her career and personal life in other interesting ways. “It’s always exciting to be a part of the VMAs because there’s so much spontanaeity,” “I just remember growing up seeing craziness ensued with the VMAs. I wasn’t allowed to see it, but I done watched it!” Back in 2008, Kinga Burza, the director of “I Kissed a Girl,” warned MTV News that Perry would soon be a force to be reckoned with. “She’s fresh, original, intelligent and talented, with a star-like charisma, which will have boys and girls all around the world cooing for more!” Burza said. And she was right. Perry made her VMA debut that year, singing along with the night’s house band, Travis Barker and the late DJ AM . That night, “I Kissed a Girl” was up for Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Female Video and Best New Artist. She went home empty-handed, but the show was the first time (and certainly not the last time) that she and host Russell Brand would cross paths. By the time 2009 rolled around, the VMAs were back in New York City, and Perry had become a household name. She was nominated for Best Female Video for “Hot n Cold” and opened the show with a rocking performance of Queen’s “We Will Rock You” alongside Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry. Although she didn’t take any prizes home, she did manage to nab Brand , who hosted the show for a second year. Perry said she saw a different side of the comedian during and after the show. “I really appreciate his sense of humor,” she explained. “It’s real dark, it’s real wrong and it’s really funny.” In 2010, Perry hit the VMAs’ white-hot carpet in Los Angeles and was by then one of the biggest pop stars in the world. Her relationship with Brand had escalated to an engagement, and her sweet and sassy “California Gurls” video , featuring Snoop Dogg, was nominated for Best Female Video and Best Pop Video. “I like the idea of this being like a board game,” she said of the video in 2009. “It’s kind of like Candy Land. That was probably one of my favorite games to play growing up. I like to bring back those pure childhood moments and give them a little bit of a naughty twist, of course!” Perry is coming up on her fourth VMA appearance in 2011 and this could finally be her year. She’s back in her home state of California, she’s tied the knot with Brand, and she’s broken all sorts of records with the songs off her Teenage Dream album. Considering she’s up for hardware in categories like best Female Video (“Firework”), Video of the Year (“Firework”) and Best Collaboration (“E.T.”) featuring Kanye West, to name a few, her chances of bringing home a Moonman or two are looking good. The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live on Sunday, August 28, from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET/PT. See the list of nominees, revisit last year’s highlights and vote for your favorites in the general categories by visiting VMA.MTV.com . Jesus Take The Wheel! Tabasha Paige-Criado and her four children, ages 2, 5, 6 and 7 were killed in Medford, Oregon Monday. They were discovered when rescuers pulled their bodies from their burning home only to discover they had also been stabbed. Paige-Criado’s husband, 51-year-old Jordan Adam Criado is the main suspect in the crimes. “She loved her mama. She would call me in the middle of the night and tell jokes,” Paige-Criado’s mother Gwen Crowles said from her Bakersfield home. Criado, who served in the Navy, was born and raised in Bakersfield before moving several years ago with her family about 600 miles away in Medford. Police believe Jordan Adam Criado stabbed them and set fire to the house, staying inside as it filled with smoke, said Medford police Chief Tim George. Criado remained hospitalized Tuesday in a hospital in Medford, where police planned to arrest him as soon as he recovered enough to leave. Crowles got the dreaded phone call Monday night. “My daughter is gone, and all my grand kids burned up,” the Bakersfield mother and grandmother cried. “I tried to kill myself. I just wanted to give up.” Crowles said she knew her daughter and son-in-law were having problems but didn’t think it was this bad. “I know she was going to leave him. They were getting a divorce,” Crowles said. A records check also shows that Jordan Adam Criado was picked up in 2005 in Oregon on an outstanding warrant out of Kern County, charging him with failing to register as a sex offender. He served less than a year in Kern County jail for that infraction. Trying to make sense of the situation, Crowles recalled a phone call she received two days earlier. “She called me two days before (her) death and said she loved me,” Crowles said. “I didn’t catch that she needed me.” Crowles said once the investigation is complete, the bodies will be return to Bakersfield for a memorial service. This story is crazy! It’s also been reported that just hours before this happened the husband called the cops claiming that his wife was missing. More details and video when you continue…
