Lady Gaga Says She’s An ‘Outcast From The Music Industry’

‘I don’t have any friends in the music business,’ singer said on British talk show ‘Friday Night With Jonathan Ross.’ By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga Photo: Ian Gavan/ Getty Images Donning a hat with a telephone perched upon it and performing her single “Telephone” from a British-style payphone box , Lady Gaga appeared on an episode of the British talk show “Friday Night With Jonathan Ross,” scheduled to air this week, where she’ll dish on her love life, her role as a celebrity and her late friend Alexander McQueen. “He was the kindest human being. I feel left with nobody to inspire me any more,” she said of McQueen, who committed suicide last month . Not only were they friends, he designed many of her looks, including the lobster claw heels in her “Bad Romance” video. Gaga admitted that she has very few friends in the entertainment industry, noting that when she attended the Brit Awards last month, where she paid tribute to McQueen , “I didn’t speak to anyone at the Brits.” She added that she feels disconnected from the industry. “I’m an outcast from the music industry,” she explained. “I don’t have any friends in the music business.” As for her outlandish appearance, she said she wouldn’t have it any other way. “I would rather die than have my fans not see me in a pair of high heels. I’d never give up my wigs and hats for anything. You see legendary people taking out their trash. I think it’s destroying show business,” she said. “I feel completely detached from the celebrity world. You never see me falling out of nightclubs. Be whatever you want to be, it’s not about emulating me … it’s all right to be different.” And in case anyone was wondering if Gaga is seeing anyone these days, the answer is no. She said that right now her only relationship is with her career. “I don’t have time to get to know anybody. I’m single and alone … nobody would put up with my craziness.” In addition to “Telephone,” the BBC reports that she also sang “Brown Eyes” from The Fame. And Gaga shared her love for everybody British. “There is no greater lady than the queen ,” she said of meeting her last year. “People in Britain are the ones who’ve really been my friends.” Related Photos The Evolution Of: Lady Gaga Related Artists Lady Gaga

Nicole Scherzinger Shows Off Her ‘Dancing With The Stars’ War Wounds

‘My feet are so beat up, after just a couple days of rehearsals,’ the Pussycat Dolls star tells MTV News. By Larry Carroll Nicole Scherzinger Photo: MTV News Earlier this week, Nicole Scherzinger was unveiled as one of the contestants on the upcoming season of “Dancing With the Stars.” Now she’s hard at work getting herself into fighting shape — and she has the scabs to show for it. “Dude, seriously? It’s day two, and look at my heel,” the Pussycat Dolls star grinned when she stopped by the MTV News studios Wednesday (March 3), pulling off a shoe to reveal a deep, red cut. “It’s ugly. Look at that. My feet are so beat up, after just a couple days of rehearsals, and I’m not used to these shoes. Sure, I’m used to wearing 7-inch heels with the Pussycat Dolls, but this is a different style of dancing and a ballroom shoe. “There’s a lot of pain involved,” Scherzinger admitted, moments before she’d leave our studio to head back for another rehearsal. “But it’s nothing that I’m not used to.” These days, Scherzinger is getting used to a lot of new things, as she and her professional dancing partner begin prepping for season 10 of the hit show. “I have been paired with Mr. Derek Hough, and as soon as I can get some personality in that guy and some charisma, then I think we can go far,” she teased. “Derek and I are pretty crazy. We’re probably the goofiest cats ever. We were electric from the start. “The first dance that we’ve been assigned is the Viennese waltz ,” Scherzinger revealed. “I just learned how to say that properly — I’ve been calling it the Vietnamese waltz. “We’ve got some really interesting things planned. We want to do things differently, our own way,” she said of the style she and Derek are planning to bring to the dance floor. “We’ve got some surprises that we’re planning. There’s so much to learn from him, because he’s the best. He’s an amazing choreographer. He’s so innovative.” But after such a long stint with the Dolls, Scherzinger added that there’s another “DWTS” element she’s eager to embrace: the clothes. “They have very exciting costumes,” she beamed. “You know what is so phenomenal about the show? Every week, you see all these beautiful, elaborate costumes and dresses. They make them personally for you and design a new one each week with you for each dance. “I could come in and be like, ‘I want to be Peter Pan this week,’ and they’ll make me look like the most beautiful Peter Pan,” she marveled. “But I don’t want to look like Peter Pan. It’s amazing. I feel like the costume designers and wardrobe designers have perfected the art form of ballroom-dancing clothes, and I can’t wait until they dress me.” Before she left to head back to the dance studio, we had to ask Nicole if she had any fighting words for a list of opponents that includes Pamela Anderson , Kate Gosselin, Shannen Doherty and others. With a smile, she said she wanted to single out one star in particular. “Hey, Buzz!” she giggled, looking into the camera and calling out 80-year-old astronaut-turned-dancer Buzz Aldrin . “It’s on, Buzz!” Related Photos The 2010 Cast Of ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Related Artists Nicole Scherzinger

‘American Idol’ Ladies Night: Crystal Bowersox Makes Triumphant Return

Top 10 women are hit and miss, with Lilly Scott and Katelyn Epperly also scoring praise from the judges. By Gil Kaufman Crystal Bowersox on American Idol Wednesday Photo: Fox “American Idol” needed a shakeup, and on Wednesday night (March 3), Crystal Bowersox provided just the kick season nine has been missing. The Ohio native spent Tuesday night in the hospital , forcing a last-minute switch that had the guys performing a night early. Though we didn’t find out what led to Bowersox’s hospitalization, host Ryan Seacrest addressed the issue right off the bat on Wednesday’s show, asking the dreadlocked singer how she was feeling just hours after it was revealed on his radio show that she would be sent home if she couldn’t perform. “I feel good,” she said, looking more glammed up in a purple top draped with a fishnet peekaboo sweater and big silver earrings. “I’m a tough cookie. … Let’s do this.” Luckily for her, she was first up, revealing to America that she has a kind of “square” twin brother, Carl, and that she carries around a butterfly-bedecked trinket bag. After some harsh comments for her Alanis Morissette cover last week, Bowersox went with Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Long as I Can See the Light,” slapping a gospel spin on the classic-rock tune. Showing no signs of illness, she took it to church, coming off like an indie-rock Janis Joplin over a Hammond organ and her gently strummed acoustic guitar. Whatever was ailing her didn’t show onstage, as Bowersox powerfully nailed the vocals, looking confident and strong. Simon praised her for not playing the sympathy card, admitting in a George Bush-ian way that he “misunderestimated” her talents based on last week, calling her vocal “incredible” and comparing the performance to the first time the panel realized they had a star on their hands with Kelly Clarkson. “You are the truth. You do what you do,” Randy Jackson told her, praising Bowersox for keeping it real. Ellen DeGeneres called her gift “pure, raw, natural talent” and Kara DioGuardi said the Americana rock vibe was the right one for her and it took her to new heights on the show. Country wannabe Haeley Vaughn had some ground to make up after last week’s Beatles stumble, and the 16-year-old headband artist tried to do it with Miley Cyrus’ “The Climb,” slipping into a more comfortable groove with the country ballad. The vocals were still a bit shaky at points and her lisp was sometimes distracting, prompting Randy to deem it a pitchy disaster and say that he felt she had no connection to the song by a fellow teen. Kara added that the 16-year-old could use another year of working on her voice, and Simon said it was just a “complete and utter mess. … There’s a certain irony about you singing a song about climbing when you actually fell off.” Antique refurbisher Lacey Brown, 24, got buried by Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide” last week, so she went with Kara’s advice and sang Sixpence None the Richer’s “Kiss Me.” Unfortunately for her, while the song was more in her wheelhouse, the vocals were mostly uneven, and Randy said it was the right song choice but sounded like a karaoke performance with nothing added to it. Cowell called it “marginally better” than last week, faulting her for not being memorable enough. Another singer who needed some redemption was Katie Stevens, 17, who revealed she can say “give me a kiss” in six languages but who got the kiss-off last week with a musty Michael Bubl
