Kris Allen Theatrical singer Adam Lambert had a fog-filled entry, but it may have the American Idol Season Eight title dreams of cool crooning Kris Allen that went up in smoke during the final song of a much-anticipated showdown Tuesday. After small-town Arkansas native Allen’s soulful spin on Bill Withers hit Ain’t No Sunshine left a packed Nokia Theatre cooing, Lambert countered with revving, soaring reprise of Sam Cooke’s A Change Is Gonna Come that pulled the pair even into the event’s final selection

Jackson memorial to be Tuesday at Staples Center (CNN)

Michael Jackson’s memorial service will take place Tuesday morning in the Staples Center, the 20,000-seat coliseum in downtown Los Angeles where Jackson rehearsed his show the night before he died, according to a person who has been briefed by a representative of the family.

Monolithic agency CAA is in all kinds of cookie jars, taking percentages of all kinds of famous cookies’ salaries. But did you know about their market research firm…that’s crowdsourcing answers on Michael Jackson ‘s death the night after it happened? Ominously named The Intelligence Group , CAA’s market research subsidiary “builds creative solutions for (their) clients.” But their “best known division” is Youth Intelligence.

Free-agent forward Ron Artest says he’s leaving the Houston Rockets to join the Los Angeles Lakers. In a text message to ESPN.com on Thursday night, Artest wrote: “I am happy to say I am goin’ to L.A.”
