J.R. Smith Hosts Charity Casino Night Gala To Benefit His Youth Foundation Cleveland Cavaliers baller J.R. Smith hosted the first ever Charity Casino Night Gala on Friday, March 25th for his nonprofit, the J.R. Smith Youth Foundation. Organized by New Generation Management, the swanky black-tie affair was held at Stage 48 in New York City and raised a whopping $45K for the Foundation. 100% of proceeds from the evening will go towards fulfilling the J.R. Smith Youth Foundation’s mission in supporting young people through the arts, education, sports and other beneficial activities such as scholarships, grants, and programs designed to help further their goals. The event was powered by clean fashion technology brand Crep Protect, as guests arrived dressed to impress for an evening of philanthropy and positivity. The event was emceed by renowned TV and radio sportscaster, Tina Cervasio. The night included unlimited light bites, an open bar with guests sipping on specialty cocktails curated by Hennessy, and a VIP gifting suite and custom photo booth courtesy of mattress company, Casper. We’ve always known Tyga is more than a little sketchy, but his latest antics may have just brought him to a new low. The photo above was taken during the rapper’s night out with Kylie Jenner on Saturday. The evening already earned some attention on social media thanks to a video of Tyga grabbing Kylie’s ass that circulated over the weekend. The clip stirred up some light controversy (Just because Kylie is legal now that doesn’t mean the relationship isn’t creepy.), but it quickly blew over. Now, however, Tyga has come under fire for his behavior at the end of the night, and this scandal likely won’t be as quickly forgotten. A photo taken just moments before the pic above shows a friend of Tyga’s pointing a gun at a female fan who had stopped to take a selfie with him. At the time the photo was taken, the rapper may not have been aware that someone in the backseat was brandishing a weapon, but he clearly realized it at some point, as he cropped the gun before posting the image on Instagram. Not surprisingly, upset fans have been voicing their disapproval on both Tyga and Kylie’s social media pages. Thus far, neither party has offered any response. Girl Survives After Getting Pushed Off Subway Platform In Front Of Train Via NY Daily News When a 15-year-old girl was shoved into the path of an oncoming train in Queens, nothing seemed real — especially the massive subway car barreling down on her. “It just didn’t seem realistic,” the still stunned Xinyi Huang told the Daily News on Friday to describe the March 5 brush with death at the 103rd St./Corona Plaza station in Corona. “I was just standing there waiting for the train to go to Manhattan (and) he pushed me from behind. I’m still not sure what happened. I’m not brave … I was just lucky.” George Pautt, 38, was busted for shoving the teen onto the tracks after tipsters linked him to the video of the maniac fleeing the station. The teen was standing on the Manhattan-bound platform about 9 p.m. when Pautt shoved her onto the tracks and ran off, cops said. But the quick-thinking teen managed to squeeze herself against the trackbed wall as the No. 7 train pulled into the elevated station. The train rolled past her, injuring her ribs. “I saw the train coming and I don’t know how I got to the wall,” she said. “It wasn’t real. I wasn’t thinking of anything. … I just reacted.” Pautt, who is mentally ill, according to police sources, was charged with attempted murder. He appeared dazed, his eyes stretched wide, as a judge held him without bail Friday night. Prosecutors said that two eyewitnesses had tagged him as the pusher. “He should be punished,” Huang said. “There might be other people who this might happen to.” The high school freshman is still bruised, but she proudly returned to school on Wednesday. “Some of my friends know, but not everybody,” she said. Her near-death experience will not stop her from riding the rails. “It’s transportation. I use it every day,” she said. “I’m just going to be more careful.” Good for her, luck and intelligence was on her side for sure!
