‘Breaking Dawn’ Last Day ‘Wasn’t Super Dramatic’

‘It was surprising, actually, how little we had to say when we finished,’ Nikki Reed tells MTV News. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kellan Lutz and Peter Facinelli Photo: MTV News “Breaking Dawn” has wrapped, the trailer has officially debuted at the MTV Movie Awards , and the stars of “The Twilight Saga” are nearing the end of their years-long franchise. MTV News caught up with Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz and Peter Facinelli outside the Gibson Amphitheatre after “Eclipse” won the Golden Popcorn for Best Movie. The Cullen trio chatted about the last day of shooting, saying it wasn’t as emotional as fans might have expected. “It was surprising, actually, how little we had to say when we finished, to be honest,” Reed said. “We know we’re going to see each other, so it wasn’t super dramatic.” Facinelli agreed, adding, “We have two more movies coming out, so it wasn’t so much of a goodbye as it was a ‘see ya later.’ ” According to the three “Twilight” stars, there was no big commotion made on their last day of filming “Breaking Dawn.” In fact, none of the stars even made a speech. “We should have a speech right now!” Facinelli suggested. “Kellan?” Lutz turned to his co-stars and deadpanned, “I worked the very last day, and I hate you mother—-ers. That’s my speech.” Though the stars of “The Twilight Saga” still have another year and a half until the second part of “Breaking Dawn” hits theaters, and then will have to make press rounds to promote the DVD and Blu-ray release, they still are willing to look into the future to what they will be doing for other projects. Or they’re willing to joke about it, at least. “Broadway musical, let’s do it,” Facinelli said with a laugh. ” ‘Carlisle on Ice.’ I can’t wait.” “I’ll buy a ticket,” Lutz offered. Nikki Reed Gushes About ‘Twilight’ Co-Stars’ Upcoming Projects

‘We all root for each other,’ she tells MTV News. By Kara Warner Nikki Reed Photo: MTV News Ever since the first “Twilight” film was released — kicking off the phenomenon that has included record-breaking box-office numbers, fainting fans, megawatt premieres, etc. — the suddenly superstar cast has been catapulted into a spotlight none of them saw coming. As such, the actors are very much in demand and currently working on a number of projects. When Nikki Reed stopped by MTV News recently to discuss her film “Last Day of Summer,” we asked her which of her co-stars’ upcoming films she’s most excited to see. “All of them,” she said. “I love Taylor [Lautner] so much, and I’m so proud of him and what he’s doing. He’s making a great movie in Pittsburgh right now,” she said, referring to the John Singleton-directed action thriller “Abduction.” “I’m excited about Rob [Pattinson]’s movie ‘Water for Elephants,’ ” she added. “I think he’s going to be phenomenal in that, and Kristen [Stewart] is doing an amazing film [‘On the Road’]. Elizabeth Reaser just did a movie called ‘Homework’ with Michael Angarano, who’s a really good friend of mine, and Emma Roberts that I’m excited about.” Reed and her co-stars have so many projects going that she was hard-pressed to remember everyone’s work schedule. “We all root for each other,” she said. Speaking of which, the multi-talented and multi-tasking actress, who recently directed Sage’s music video for “Edie Sedgwick,” lit up at our question about whether she would consider directing a music video for her co-star Jackson Rathbone’s band, 100 Monkeys. “Would I ever! Jackson and I are on the phone every other day, because we’re trying to find a movie to do together. I forgot to mention him — his band is skyrocketing. It’s amazing,” she gushed. “I would be honored. I don’t want to take the position: ‘Would I ever.’ If he would ever let me, yeah. I love them.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com .

Taylor Swift Flashed Back To High School For Best Female Video-Nominated ‘Fifteen’

‘I really wanted this video to kind of be an evolution for Taylor,’ director Roman White explains. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Matt Elias Taylor Swift in her music video for “Fifteen” Photo: Big Machine The dreamy landscape of her “Fifteen” video had Taylor Swift recalling her high school days, when she thought she was in love with that guy she was dating and she didn’t know what would become of her life. And when she worked on the Best Female Video-nominated clip last year with “You Belong With Me” director Roman White, he wanted to capture the essence of the song without getting too literal. “Well, I think I really wanted this video to kind of be an evolution for Taylor,” White said. “I mean, obviously it’s a high school song, but the last thing I wanted to do was shoot it in a high school. So I wanted to try something different, and I actually said to her, ‘I don’t think we should shoot in a high school.’ And I don’t think she wanted to either.” So how do you shoot a video about high school without actually staging it in a high school? “I kind of came up with this idea like, let’s take the literal meaning of this song and watch it evolve in front of us … almost as a memory in your head,” he said. “And create this world, so you walk in on this desolate desert and you start to sing about all these great memories you have … of everything you love [blooming] around you, and so we literally grew this garden around her.” But White decided to keep it a bit strange as well. “But also we added these surreal elements that came from the memory,” he said. “It’s kind of this cross between this surreal garden and this memory [and] she’s at the heart of this memory.” About the only thing in the video that wasn’t created on a computer was Swift herself. “The rain was all digitally created. All the trees, all the flowers, everything was created by mouse, everything was created by computers,” he explained. “The trees, the leaves, the rain, everything, the clouds. We had prop pieces of the desks and stuff … so even things we had actual props of we re-created in 3-D [on the computer].” The 27th annual MTV Video Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 12, at 9 p.m. ET. ‘Breaking Dawn’ Star Nikki Reed Talks Exploring Rosalie’s Backstory

‘With ‘Breaking Dawn,’ we’re only going to go deeper into that,’ actress says of Rosalie’s history in next ‘Twilight’ installment. By Kara Warner Nikki Reed Photo: MTV News As avid book readers well know, once a movie studio decides to adapt a favorite novel into a feature film, certain changes occur. With regard to Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight Saga,” the filmmakers and screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg have done their best to stay as true to the source material as possible. But one expository aspect that is lost from book to screen is the various backstories of the supporting characters. When MTV News recently caught up with actress Nikki Reed, who was out promoting her upcoming indie “Last Day of Summer,” she talked about the challenge of portraying Rosalie’s relatability for non-book readers, as well as making the most of her screen time. “I find that people who’ve read the books kind of understand Rosalie, and that’s been the biggest challenge with playing her — when you make this series, clearly it has to revolve around this epic love story,” Reed said of the big three: Edward (Robert Pattinson), Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Jacob (Taylor Lautner). “The rest of us are kind of fighting in the background to have any kind of moment. You’re always afraid that the moment you do have, you’ll overdo because you wanted to have something behind it,” she explained. “Even if it’s just a look or a sentence or a glance.” Reed said she was happy to explore some of Rosalie’s backstory in “Eclipse,” and that she hopes she’ll get to dive into a bit more of her vamp’s history in “Breaking Dawn.” “With ‘Breaking Dawn,’ we’re only going to go deeper into that. I haven’t read the script — I don’t know what it’s going to be like — but I think Melissa’s done a great job in keeping them pretty close to the books. I can’t think of anything we’ve missed in the films. I have faith that Bella and I are going to get really close.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Rosalie’s ‘Breaking Dawn’ Motives Are ‘Personal’ Not ‘Pro-Life,’ Nikki Reed Says

‘It’s about her want, her need to be a mother,’ she tells MTV News of her character’s fight to save the baby over Bella. By Kara Warner Nikki Reed Photo: James Lacsina As “Twilight” fans well know, there are several slightly controversial and uncomfortable scenes in “Breaking Dawn,” the final book of Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling series. Going into the last two films, the big questions on fans’ minds seem to revolve around the infamous birthing and imprinting scenes. One key participant in the birthing scene is Rosalie Cullen, who becomes so obsessed with Bella having Edward’s baby that she will stop at nothing to see her born — even if it means compromising Bella’s life. When Rosalie herself, Nikki Reed, stopped by to talk with MTV News about her upcoming indie film “Last Day of Summer,” we asked what she thinks about her character’s firm beliefs on that subject matter and how she’ll tackle those difficult scenes in the films. “Here’s how I look at it: I try not to be super opinionated and vocal, because in Hollywood, that seems to only lead you in the wrong direction,” Reed said. “I try to relate this particular case to Rosalie and not make it metaphorical or symbolic of anything else.” Reed said Rosalie’s strong feelings toward the baby are tied to her prior life as a human and never having had the chance to be a mother herself. “I think that Rosalie just always wanted to be a mom, and that’s how I look at it,” she said. “It has nothing to do with being pro-life or anything. I think it’s about her want, her need to be a mother, and this is the only opportunity she’s ever going to have, so she’s willing to let Bella die so she can have that and fulfill that, and that’s how I look at it. It’s her own personal desires.” “Dawn” screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg also weighed in on the infamous scene recently, telling us she plans to write it so everyone feels the pain of the experience. “I want to see the terror of the experience,” Rosenberg said. “I want to have the experience of the fear and feel her pain. I want to feel everyone’s pain in this.” What do you think motivates Rosalie to fight for Bella’s baby? Let us know in the comments. Kate Gosselin: The Botched Botox

Kate Gosselin debuted an interesting look yesterday. Rocking oddly spiked eyebrows and a noticeably smoother face as she ran errands, the reality mom looks to have suffered botox treatments gone horribly wrong. In the before-and-after comparison of Kate Gosselin pictures below, you can see how her brow is elevated in an abnormally high position, looking quite off kilter. Perhaps this to prep for guest-hosting The View ? In any case, it’s yet another case of unnecessary treatment coupled with poor exeuction. What a winning combo! SO WRONG : Kate Gosselin made the right move ditching the reverse mullet dead opossum weave she patented, but what the hell happened to her face? Yeesh . You’d think after getting a tummy tuck and a boob job (supposedly), she’d know where to find a good surgeon. Or perhaps Hailey Glassman’s dad got revenge …
