Review: WarioWare D.I.Y.

My favorite quirk about the WarioWare series is that it takes the average gamer longer to explain one of the series’ crazy microgames than it does to play it. The series, which has always tapped into our collective instincts built upon a lifetime of gaming, brings it all full circle with the latest DS installment, WarioWare D.I.Y. Andrew Pfister played quite a few of the game’s premade levels and sampled many of the user-created microgames for his review. Here’s a choice quote: “Just in the first week after the game’s release, it’s already evident that there are some highly creative people hard at work making games based on their favorite NES games, inside meme-related jokes, or like me, an entire suite of games based on the frustrations of air travel. Let’s hope Nintendo keeps supporting this initiative, highlighting the best of the best, and nurturing America’s aspiring amateur game developers.” I like WarioWare as is, so the information pretty much drives home my desire to pick it up. Sessler’s Soapbox: Will Nintendo Do 3-D the Right Way?

By now, anyone who regularly visits this website knows that Adam Sessler does not like 3-D. However, Nintendo announced they will soon be revealing their next portable, the Nintendo 3-DS, that will have 3-D technology that doesn’t require glasses. Combine that with the fact that Nintendo rarely promotes a technology they haven’t thoroughly tested and are proud of (VirtuaBoy not included), and Adam’s interested. Check out this week’s Sessler’s Soapbox to find out just what The Sess thinks might be over the horizon for Nintendo and 3-D gaming. Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Game

A theoretical interpretation from DoctorOctoroc of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog had it been created as an 8-bit sing-along Nintendo game rather than a sing-along blog. Still pretty catchy. Nintendo And Google Partner For Internet Search-Based Wii Game

In “Unlikely Duos” news, Nintendo has announced that it is partnering with search engine giant Google to develop games, the first of which will appear on the Wii in late April. According to Silicon Era , the game is called And Kensaku , and includes a number of mini-games that incorporate Google search results into them. For instance, one of the games is similar to Family Feud in that players guess which search term will return the most results. Another game tasks players with preventing a bomb from exploding by choosing terms will high results. The game is scheduled for release in Japan April 29. While you wait for this bizarre title to land stateside, you can marvel at the teaser site for the new game, but be warned: the theme song is pretty damn awesome. Miegakure, An Improved Puzzle Game for PC, Mac and Consoles

A lot of peope are curious about Miegakure as of now but the game is still currently under develeopment. The main goal for this game is for it to be available for download on your consoles, PC or Mac. But what is Miegakure? It is a platform game where the fourth dimension to solve puzzles can be explored. Currently and in reality what we have is the width, depth, and height. I wonder how this game could come up with the fourth dimension. To make it simple, the game will be like a regular three-dimensional platformer, and at the press of a button one of the dimensions is exchanged with the fourth dimension, allowing for four-dimensional movement. Check out this photo for a glimpse of this game: Miegakure, An Improved Puzzle Game for PC, Mac and Consoles is a post from: Daily World Buzz Continue reading
