That’s the day New Zealand’s almost-award-winning, fourth-most-popular folk duo broke the sad news that they were pulling the plug on their HBO series, “Flight of the Conchords.” After two rapturously received seasons of Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement’s adventures trying to make it in New York, the show’s co-creators announced that they are calling it quits. “We’ve noticed the less we say about the future of the show, the more people want to talk about it, so in an effort to reverse this trend we are today announcing that we won’t be returning for a third season,” Clement, McKenzie and executive producer James Bobin wrote in a statement on their official site .
