TYGAAAA?! Tyga Sued For Allegedly Failing To Pay Artist Sampled On “Swap Meet”

But now, the California rapper has now found himself in some legal trouble. According to reports from  TMZ ,  the rapper is being sued for using lyrics from another song in his 2018 track “Swap Meet” without proper clearing the record. The lawsuit in question was filed by a rapper by the name of Pretty Maw. She is claiming that Tyga ripped lyrics from her song “17th” without proper compensation, despite saying he would pay “a fixed monetary amount” in addition to royalties from “Swap Meet.” The official video for T-Raww’s track has accumulated over 7 million views on YouTube since its release back in September. The debut video from the lesser-known New Orleans artist for “17th” has yet to eclipse 14,000, but Pretty Maw can actually be seen at the end of the “Swap Meet” video performing a section of her song. Despite her appearance in Tyga’s video, she is not even officially featured on the track.   This is far from the first time money has been a problem for Tyga. Back in July, he allegedly owed $157,000 for abandoning a leased vehicle . A few months before that in March, he was sued for failing to pay his $40,000 a month rent for a Beverly Hills mansion he was renting. In this most recent lawsuit, Pretty Maw is seeking an undisclosed amount of money and the discontinued distribution of “Swap Meet.” Continue reading →

The parents of Seven Bridges are reeling after they say their fifth grader was bullied to the point of suicide. “I saw my son dead. That’s something in my head,” Tami Charles told WHAS11 who found him hanging in the closet after she came home from the grocery store. “For the few minutes that we left, he didn’t want us to see that,” his father, Donnie Bridges said. The parents say their only child, a miracle baby born in 2008, was taunted because of a medical defect that required him to undergo 26 surgeries and use a colostomy bag. Kids would torment little Seven because of the smell. Back in September WHAS 11 reported that Seven was bullied on a bus ride home from his elementary school. He said he was called the N-word by a student and was ordered by a “friend” to beat up the bully. When he refused, his friend began choking him. “I still can’t get him choking me out of my head,” said his mother. His parents were planning to transfer him to another school next year but now they won’t have the chance. They believe his school didn’t do enough to protect him. A GoFundMe has set up for little Seven’s funeral. We send our sincerest condolences to the family of Seven Bridges, this is the second black child in recent months to take their life. In his latest podcast episode, Joe said he thinks “Every Day Struggle” just exists to be in a “marketplace”, not contributing anything to culture and names DJ Akademiks and Nadeska as the “ugly trolls” who just perpetuate the vultures at Complex behind their branded hip-hop show. What sparked the critique was how poorly he says they handled their interview with Soulja. The hosts seemingly mocked the rapper/entrepreneur throughout the interview. Joe was ticked off even further by the audacity of Nadeska saying “we support Black businesses up here.” Joe, from his own account, said Complex has laid off countless Black talent and Rich Antonielloe (CEO of Complex Media) said to him verbatim that he has a “hard time selling ads on a show with Black people”… Yikes! Sit down! The other point in the interview that came off foolish was Nadeska asking “why do you have so many businesses?” as Akademiks trolled Soulja’s game console.
