Michelle Obama dazzled at the S Korea state dinner in a beautiful eggplant colored dress… From the basement of her parents dry cleaning store to the White House, Doo-Ri Chung has come a long way. On Thursday night, First Lady Michelle Obama debuted a gown created by the 38-year-old Korean-American designer at the White House state dinner. The Doo.Ri one-shouldered purple gown with an embellished, belted waist, made a striking statement as the first couple prepared to enter the gala event in the East Room of the White House on the rainy evening. Guests of honor South Korean President Lee Myung-bak and his wife, Kim Yoon-ok, dressed in a traditional pink and white hanbok, greeted an eclectic crowd that included Tennis legend Billie Jean King and renowned chef David Chang. Like the four past state dinners hosted by the Obama Administration, pressure was on the first lady to select a style that appeased both political and sartorial pundits. It’s not always an easy task. In January, she was criticized by American designers when she chose a crimson gown by British brand Alexander McQueen for the state dinner with China’s president. This time around, she hit all the right notes. The brilliant eggplant fabric and shoulder-baring cut, a Mrs. O staple, captured her contemporary elegance. And the choice of an American-born designer with South Korean roots paid respect to the evening’s guests of honor and the national industry that so heavily relies on her backing. Since her husband took office in 2008, Obama has been a one-woman juggernaut turning avant garde, emerging designers into runway superstars overnight. Stunning. Source

Presidential candidate Herman Cain will never be accused of mincing words … or being a cliche. The African-American businessman recently raised eyebrows with some blunt comments on racism … and how people need to get over it. “I don’t have a lot of patience for people who want to blame racism on the fact that some people don’t make in America,” he said Fox News’ Hannity . Here’s Cain’s interview from last night on this and other topics: Watch the latest video at video.foxnews.com Herman Cain on Hannity The Republican claimed that his academic and business achievements were “walking proof” that racism doesn’t hold people back if they don’t let it. “I don’t believe racism today holds anybody back in a big way,” he said. Cain also reiterated his attacks on Wall Street protesters from last week, accusing them of being jealous and calling the whole thing a distraction. “I believe this a coordinated effort of the unions and Obama supporters to distract the American people” from failed administration policies. Cain characterizes the movement as “class warfare,” “Un-American” and petty. “If you don’t have a job and you’re not rich, blame yourself,” he said. Despite never having held elected office, the Hermanator has lit a fire under GOP voters, surging in recent polls. What do you think of Cain?
Mel B is the new face of Jenny Craig in Australia and New Zealand. Though she only gave birth a month ago, she’s enlisted the help of the weight loss company to help her lose 33 pounds of “baby fat,” according to Daily Mail UK . At a breakfast launch in Sydney, the 36-year-old, mother of 4, said: “I was eating literally eating morning, noon and night, and it didn’t matter what time. I was just eating. I was a house. I love my humps and bumps, but when a newspaper described my shape as the ‘bootylicious, curvylicious, post-baby body of Melanie’, I knew I had to do something. I had to get the eating under control. I have already been exercising but what I need is a little push to help me start eating sensibly. I really allowed myself the chance to pig out during this pregnancy, so I’ve got a bit of weight to lose.” She added: “Life gets a bit crazy when you’ve got four daughters but it’s important for us moms to live healthy and to be in good shape. Moms really need to take time for themselves and get to a place where they are happy with their body again. We should not put it off because we deserve more than that. A healthy happy mom equals a healthy happy family.” Do you think it’s too soon to start losing the weight? Or is Mel B. making all the right moves? Mel B. Shows Off Post-Baby Body [PHOTO] Mel B. Lil Wayne released a 28 min “PSA” where he talks about Steve Jobs passing, his drinking habits, tattoos, why he plays guitar, skateboarding, and more. At the 3:00 minute mark in the video he begins the rant about his infamous syrup-filled styrofoam cup : “Everybody got the cup now. I started drinking [syrup] because I’m from the south. People been drinking syrup for years. That’s where it was made popular. I’m human…I respected it because it was a culture. I didn’t do it because it was cool. When I picked it up ya’ll didn’t know what it was…what I wanna say is…I can’t blame the kids. I blame you adults. It’s ok for a kid to see something and want to be like it. It’s only right. But for an adult to fabricate something for some dumb reason it messes up our youth and messes up the future. So I ask you what is your reason, why are you drinking syrup?…I started drinking it because I was sick…but this is tea in my cup right now..” Umm..yeah… At the 8:22 mark he goes off about the trend of rappers having tattoos allover their bodies: “I have no problem with people getting a billion tattoos, but why are you doing it?” Then at 11:20 he talks about the “1.8 Million of my hard earned money” he spent on his Bugatti. Weezy says the folks at the Bugatti dealership called him the “Barack Obama” of Bugatti for being the first African-American rapper to own the million-dollar auto. At 13:28 he defends his playing of a guitar and putting out a rock album. “My reason for picking up that guitar is that I wanted to be able to pick up a guitar and sing to a woman. Why are you doing it?” Who needs “MTV Cribs” when you have live from Weezy’s? Watch the full clip and let us know your thoughts. WEEZY F BABY PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT from DERICK G on Vimeo .
