Kim Kardashian is not ready to let Barack Obama go. On Friday, around the time that Donald Trump was being sworn in as the 45th President of the United States, the reality star was sharing a handful of throwback photos on her official app/website. The pictures featured Kim, husband Kanye West, daughter North and a certain now-former Commander-in-Chief, smiling and interacting with members of this famous family. “”Thank you for leading our country. You will be missed,” Kim wrote as a caption above all the images. Kardashian met Obama a few times over the years. She and Kanye attended fundraisers in honor of the President, despite some controversial remarks he made about Kimye back in August of 2013. Speaking to Amazon employees in Chattanooga, Obama said Kardashian and West had essentially poisoned the American Dream by giving fans unfair expectations to live up to. At the time, Obama argued that, just a few years prior, “kids weren’t monitoring every day what Kim Kardashian was wearing, or where Kanye West was going on vacation, and thinking that somehow that was the mark of success.” He explained in more detail: “There has been a shift in culture. We weren’t exposed to the things we didn’t have in the same way that kids these days are… “There was not that window into the lifestyles of the rich and famous.” In other words: Kim and Kanye sent a bad message over the years by talking about their gold toilets and flaunting their wealth so often on social media. The irony now, of course, is that Kardashian got robbed in October. The armed assailants who broke into her Paris apartment were inspired to do so by pictures of a $4 million ring she had bragged about on Instagram and Twitter. In her series of social media photos since this incident, Kim has actually been accused of acting poor , as she tries to learn from past mistakes, now aware that there’s a danger to showing off some luxury items in front of millions of people. So Obama was kind of right back in the day. Kim, meanwhile, was not the only member of her family to honor Obama on his final day in office. Khloe Kardashian also used her Instagram account to share a sweet photo of Barack and Michelle Obama, including with it a sweet message. “I’m asking you to believe. Not in my ability to bring about change — but in yours,” Khloe wrote, quoting the ex-President and adding” “Terribly sad to see you go but honored I was able to watch firsthand. Stephen Colbert is an absolute treasure. He always has been, he always will be, and we are so lucky to have him. He's great on the Late Show, of course, but most of us remember him most fondly as the ignorant but lovable conservative jackass from The Colbert Report. It's been a little over two years now the last episode of The Colbert Report aired, and the show has definitely been missed — can you imagine how incredible it would have been to have during Trump's campaign? But don't worry, friends: Stephen's still got us. Last night, on the very last day of Barack Obama's presidency, the very last peaceful day before the four-year reign of terror began, we got to see a little bit of the old Colbert. In a delightful little segment of “The Word,” Stephen broke down some key moments of Obama's presidency as only he could. He touched on Obama's work to repeal “Don't Ask, Don't Tell,” he brought up marriage equality and the death of Osama Bin Laden and the Affordable Care Act. For fairly obvious reasons, Toby Keith is rarely compared to Nirvana. But there’s finally a reason to write about the country music artist and the iconic rock band in the same sentence. And that’s because Keith has a simple response to anyone giving him grief for performing this weekend at Donald Trump’s Presidential Inauguration: NO APOLOGIES! The country music star is maybe the biggest name to have signed on for this controversial event, which will take place on January 20 in Washington, D.C. Very few major acts want to be associated with the 45th President of the United States, with Keith having received a great deal of flak for agreeing to take the stage. Not that he seems bothered by the criticism. “I don’t apologize for performing for our country or military,” the artist told Entertainment Weekly late last week, explaining further: “I performed at events for previous presidents [George W.] Bush and [Barack] Obama and over 200 shows in Iraq and Afghanistan for the USO.” That is certainly one point of view. We can see how some singers out there view performing at the inauguration as a patriotic act that represents the country and the democracy more than one single man. But we can also see how many stars simply see this as an exception. We can understand their hesitance to support Donald Trump in any way, shape or form. Keith will be joined at the celebratory concert by 3 Doors Down, Lee Greenwood, Jackie Evancho , The Piano Guys and the Frontmen of Country, according to an announcement posted on the Presidential Inaugural Committee site. Broadway actress Jennifer Holliday was also scheduled to perform, but published a letter on Saturday that said she felt a need to pull put. In her statement, Holliday apologized to the LGBTQ community for agreeing to perform in the first place, calling the initial decision a “lapse of judgement.” Trump, meanwhile, is well aware that artists are refusing to take his stage. But he’s claimed on Twitter that not only isn’t he bothered by their absence… he doesn’t want them anywhere near him anyway! “The so-called ‘A’ list celebrities are all wanting tickets to the inauguration, but look what they did for Hillary — NOTHING,” Trump tweeted in December , adding: “I want the PEOPLE!” We guess Toby Keith isn’t a person, based on this line of reasoning? Trump, of course, has other things to worry about these days than who will or will not perform in D.C. later this week. Such as accusations that he really is a puppet for Russia and/or talk that he will violate the Constitution on his first day in office due to his many business conflicts. But, like Keith, Trump doesn’t seem too upset by the insults and threats being hurled his way. Nor by the lack of well-known stars who went to perform on his behalf. “Inauguration Day is turning out to be even bigger than expected. January 20th, Washington D.C. Have fun!” he recently Tweeted. Will you be attending the event? Will you be watching it on TV? Will you be boycotting Keith and/or anyone who performs at it? Or will you be lining up to purchase their records in a show of support?
