It was only a matter of time. When the White House released the instantly infamous President Obama gun photo , surprised Americans collectively gasped … then fired up Photoshop. Whether they pretended O was insisting on a live Beyonce halftime show , literally blowing a hole in the Constitution, warring with Queen Elizabeth II of England, allying with Communists or pointing a rifle backwards out of incompetence, the web had a field day with this one. Follow the jump to see a bunch of other Obama gun photo parodies:
A photo of President Barack Obama skeet shooting at Camp David has been released following a claim last week that he engages in the activity regularly. It is the only known photo of Obama with a gun, and also comes amid a White House-backed push for stronger gun control regulations in the U.S. The photo shows Obama targeting clay pigeons at the presidential retreat last August, which he said he does “all the time” during stays at the compound. The comment, in an interview last Sunday, was a response to a question of whether he had ever held a firearm . Obama told the New Republic: “Not the girls, but oftentimes guests of mine go up there. I have a profound respect for the traditions of hunting that trace back in this country for generations.” “And I think those who dismiss that out of hand make a big mistake.” Given the current political atmosphere and polarizing gun control debate , some questioned whether the claim was an embellishment or even true at all. Politicians who use firearms often advertise that fact to gun owners, but in four years in office and two national campaigns, Obama has never brought it up. “If he is a skeet shooter, why have we not heard of this?” asked Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN). “Why has he not referenced it at any point [during this] gun debate?” “Why have we not seen photos?” Asked about the president’s interview, Press Secretary Jay Carney responded “I would refer you simply to his comments,” he said. “I don’t know how often.” Carney noted that when Obama travels to “Camp David, he goes to spend time with his family and friends and relax, not to produce photographs.” Some Obama supporters have already brushed off critics as “skeeters,” a play on the “birthers” like Donald Trump who doubted he was a U.S. citizen. “Attn skeet birthers. Make our day – let the photoshop conspiracies begin!” senior adviser and 2008 campaign manager David Plouffe wrote on Twitter. Conspiracy or not, and no matter how curiously timed the photo’s release may be, what can’t be refuted is the President’s commitment to reform. Obama signed several executive orders strengthening regulations of guns and revealed proposals to ban assault weapons and high capacity magazines. The gun control push began in response to the December mass-shooting of 20 first graders and six adults at a Newtown, Conn., elementary school. What do you think? Do you support tougher gun laws? YES. Fewer guns, fewer tragedies! NO. It’s unconstitutional and won’t stop anything! View Poll »
To the victor go the spoils The Miami Heat Visit The White House Via Huffington Post President Barack Obama honored the Miami Heat for winning the 2012 NBA Championship title after falling short just a year before. “Everybody doing their part, is what finally put the Heat over the top,” Obama said, as he welcomed the team to the White House Monday to celebrate their victory. The Heat defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder in five games in the NBA Finals last June. The president also recognized the franchise’s work off the court. He thanked them for supporting military service members at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Obama said one of the things he’s proudest of is that many of the team members_ including LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade_ “take their roles as fathers seriously.” “For all the young men out there who are looking up to them over time, for them to see somebody who cares about their kids and is there for them, day in, day out, that’s a good message to send,” Obama said. Said ‘Bron ‘Bron about his first championship trip to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave: “We’re in the White House right now, which is like, like `mama I made it,’” James said, as the audience laughed and cheered. Indeed Lebron, you and your raggedy hair line FINALLY made it to the White House. Congratualtions. Hit the flipper to see the rest of the pics from the Heat’s big day. Image via AP/Instagram
President Obama Talks About His Love Of Skeet Shooting Via DailyMail Obama has attempted to pacify jittery gun-owners by talking about his love of clay pigeon shooting. The President’s words will be seen as an attempt to reassure conservative voters who are angry about his plans to ban assault weapons as part of a drastic overhaul of gun laws. In a soon-to-be published interview with The New Republic, President Obama is asked whether he has ever fired a gun. He said: ‘Yes, in fact, up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time.’ He added: ‘Not the girls, but oftentimes guests of mine go up there. And I have a profound respect for the traditions of hunting that trace back in this country for generations. ‘And I think those who dismiss that out of hand make a big mistake.’ The POTUS explains why his use of firearms and why he feels that the gun control issue has 2 valid sides. ‘Part of being able to move this forward,’ President Obama says, ‘is understanding the reality of guns in urban areas are very different from the realities of guns in rural areas.’… ‘If you grew up and your dad gave you a hunting rifle when you were ten,’ the president said, ‘and that became part of your family’s traditions, you can see why you’d be pretty protective of that.’ Obama referred to the gap between urban and rural views on gun ownership as ‘part of the biggest task over the next several months’ in his fight for public support of his assault weapons ban. ‘And that’ he says, ‘means that advocates of gun control have to do a little more listening than they do sometimes.’ Does Barry’s love of blam-blammin’ his cannon at clay pigeons make him a hypocrite in regards to wanting to enforce tougher gun laws? Barack Obama is an unabashed fan of the Chicago Bears and football in general. But the Commander-in-Chief recognizes that changes may need to be made to the sport, considering studies that prove how its violent hits result in a rash of brain injuries and concussions. In an interview with The New Republic , the President says changes may need to be made that may make football “a bit less exciting,” but which will address the long-term health of its participants. “And those of us who are fans maybe won’t have to examine our consciences quite as much,” Obama says, adding he’s unsure if he would allow his son to play the sport. This Q&A appears in the February 11 edition of the publication, with Obama saying he’s mostly focused on college football because professionals are well-paid and are part of a union. “They can make some of these decisions on their own, and most of them are well-compensated for the violence they do to their bodies,” Obama said of NFL players. “You read some of these stories about college players who undergo some of these same problems with concussions and so forth and then have nothing to fall back on. That’s something that I’d like to see the NCAA think about.” What do YOU think? Would you allow your child to play football? Yes, all sports have risk No, it’s too dangerous View Poll »
Sarah Palin and Fox News have agreed to part ways. The former Vice Presidential nominee signed a three-year contract with the network in January 2010, reportedly for $1 million per year, and has offered up her analysis of current events ever since. Most recently, she blasted President Obama for winning Time Person of the Year and slammed his handling of the Fiscal Cliff situation. It was the one issue on which Palin and Obama disagreed. Just kidding. Executive Bill Shine says the network wishes Palin all the “best in her future endeavors,” but there were signs that tension grew over the years between the ex-politician and Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes. He was quoted by The Associated Press in 2011 as saying “I hired Sarah Palin because she was hot and got ratings.” Karl Rove, meanwhile, recently renewed his contract at Fox through the 2016 election. No word yet on what Palin will do next, but there’s little doubt that producers at Dancing with the Stars are burning up the Alaskan phone lines as we type.
I missed the first one. When Barack Hussein Obama was sworn in as our first African-American president with an agenda that I believed passionately in,…

Unbeknownst to her, Diane O’Meara played a critical role in the Manti Te’o girlfriend hoax. O’Meara, a 23-year old marketing executive in Los Angeles, appeared on The Today Show this morning and confirmed her photo was the one used – without her knowledge – in creating Lennay Kekua . The photograph (below) was taken off her Facebook page by Ronaiah Tuiasosopo and passed off as Kekua to Te’o. O’Meara adds that Tuiasosopo called to admit his role in the scheme and apologize for it the day this bizarre story broke. “I don’t think there’s anything he could say to me that would fix this,” said O’Meara. O’Meara went to high school in California with Tuiasosopo, but emphasizes that the pair is not close. He has not spoken out since this scandal hit, but may do so this week. Te’o, meanwhile, will give his first on-camera interview to Katie Couric Thursday.
