In devastating news, a squirrel recently dropped his nut from atop a telephone pole when tragedy struck and a slight misstep sent his breakfast tumbling down. Incredibly, a photographer was there to document his stunned reaction: To answer the obligatory question: Yes. This is somehow a real photo . Ajeet Vikram, the photographer, said that the poor critter had just finished scurrying up the pole with his bounty at the moment of devastation – and disbelief. The 27-year-old from India set out to take photos of the sunrise that day, but happened to zero in on the squirrel and capture his expression of abject terror. “The squirrel was going up and down the pole, then suddenly climbed on the top and started to eat something. This made me want to take pictures,” he said. “The squirrel had some kind of nut, which he dropped. When I saw the [picture], I thought ‘Bingo.’ it was mind blowing. My friends all call me a real photographer now.” As for why he was intrigued by such a simple animal to start with? “I really like squirrels,” he said. “I think they look really innocent.” Particularly in life-changing moments of such raw emotion.

Jenelle Evans’ boyfriend Nathan Griffith was arrested for DUI after police pulled them over early Saturday – and you won’t believe the reason they got stopped. The drunk Teen Mom 2 star told cops they were rushing home to have sex. Nathan Griffith Arrested For DUI, Trying to Have Sex With Jenelle Evans “Honestly, we were trying to have sex,” Evans told a North Myrtle Beach policeman when he asked why Nathan Griffith , 25, was swerving on the road. A policeman then asked: “That’s why you guys were all over the road?” “Yeah,” replied Evans, who is still married to Courtland Rogers . Jenelle clarified that the couple was not actually engaging in sex in her 2007 Toyota when the officer quizzed if he was “touching” her whilst driving. They were just in a really big hurry to get home and get naked. In any case, Griffith was arrested for DUI, speeding, driving on the wrong side of the road, resisting arrest and driving with a suspended license. En route to the station, he also puked in the back of the cruiser . Evans bailed her boyfriend out of jail at a cost of $5,000. During the arrest, the officer recognized the mother of toddler Jace as “the girl on MTV.” To which Jenelle Evans slurred and laughed, “Yeah, unfortunately.” The officer also asked the obligatory, million-dollar question to Jenelle, inquiring if she had taken drugs, to which she retorted, “No, no, definitely not.” There’s your silver lining for this ridiculous report.

After a speech that saw a surprised President Obama heckled by an anti-war, anti-drone, and anti-Gitmo activist, the Internet was the big winner. As Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin interrupted and harassed the POTUS during his speech on Thursday, Obama repeatedly told her: “Let me address it!” She was eventually removed from the room, and Obama went off-script to acknowledge her concerns and even urged people to “cut her some slack.” And that was about it, which means we can move on and laugh at the obligatory auto-tuned musical version of events that someone made online. Pope on Gay Marriage: A Threat to Humanity, Peace and Justice!

Pope Benedict XVI can expect some pissed off Tweets this week. The head of the Roman Catholic Church said this week that gay marriage poses a threat to “justice and peace.” He also called same-sex marriage “unnatural.” The 85-year-old Pontiff kicked off the Christmas season on Friday afternoon with the traditional lighting of the tree in Vatican City’s St. Peter’s Square. There, he released the Pope’s message for World Day of Peace 2013. In his annual address, he that same-sex marriage is “against human nature.” According to reports, he said the following: “There is… a need to acknowledge and promote the natural structure of marriage as the union of a man and a woman in the face of attempts to make it juridically equivalent to radically different types of union.” “Such attempts actually harm and help to destabilize marriage, obscuring its specific nature and its indispensable role in society.” “These principles are not truths of faith, nor are they simply a corollary of the right to religious freedom. They are inscribed in human nature itself, accessible to reason and thus common to all humanity.” The Pope went on to suggest that support of gay marriage “constitutes an offense against the truth of the human person, with serious harm to justice and peace.” Pope Benedict XVI said abortion is also a threat to peace. This is not the first time that Pope Benedict has vocally opposed same-sex marriage, having derided the idea as “insidious and dangerous” earlier this year. Adam Lanza Guns, Weapons Training Came From Mom

Connecticut school shooter Adam Lanza learned everything he knew about firearms – and obtained the ones he used in Friday morning’s massacre – from his mother. Adam’s mom, Nancy Lanza, became his first victim that fateful day. An avid gun collector, she reportedly bragged to friends and neighbors about her weapons and took her son to several firing ranges to teach him how to shoot. All in the months leading up to Adam murdering 27 innocent people. One of Nancy’s neighbors, Dan Holmes, said that Nancy was a gun enthusiast and collector, often taking her kids, Adam and Ryan Lanza , to the gun range. According to the N.Y. Post , this fed his knowledge of firearms, and will surely be discussed as part of the obligatory and necessary gun control debate . Adam Lanza used several different guns when he opened fire on Sandy Hook Elementary School. It is believed that all three weapons were registered to Nancy. Nancy Lanza was not a teacher at the school, despite initial reports claiming this. Nor was she killed at the school; Adam, who lived with her, shot her at home. From there, he went on to kill 20 kids and six adults before taking his own life as police arrived, making for one of the worst mass murders in U.S. history. Police have yet to disclose a motive for the attack, which left those who knew Lanza trying to discern whether anything in his past could have foreshadowed this. One of Lanza’s aunts, Marsha, described Lanza as a “quiet, nice kid” who had issues with learning, she said. Her husband is Lanza’s paternal uncle. “He was definitely the challenge of the family in that house. Every family has one. They have one. I have one. But never in trouble with the law, or with anything.” As for her connection to the school, if any? It’s unclear, though Lanza’s mother “battled” with the school board and ended up having her son home-schooled. “She had issues with school ,” said the aunt, who lives in Illinois. “I’m not 100% certain if it was behavior or learning disabilities, but he was a very bright boy. He was smart.”

Thank. Goodness. Despite not actually being a cast member on The Real Housewives of New Jersey any longer, Dina Manzo sat down this week with Andy Cohen on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live and assured viewers: her feud with sister Caroline will eventually end. “I’m obviously not going to get into the reasons, but… we’re all on a life journey and sometimes people’s energy doesn’t vibe,” Dina profoundly told the host. “We’re just letting it sit… It doesn’t mean you hate the person or you wish bad for them.” Dina adds that the rivalry with Caroline is unrelated to Teresa Giudice , while also making a promise to fans.* “I can guarantee you two things: one, it’s going to be okay one day, we’re going to be back to normal. And two is as weird as things are… if either one of us needed each other we would be there in a heartbeat. That’s where the family bond will never be broken.” (*Seriously, is anyone actually a fan of these people?)
