In the spirit of the life-swapping element in the film, MTV News asked the attendees what other actor they’d like to swap careers, if not bodies, with, if given the opportunity. “I would like to be Robert Redford,” Wilde said. “I think being Robert Redford would be really nice. And also directing as well as acting, and doing Westerns as well as all sorts of movies, then living a really good life, starting a film festival. I would take Robert Redford. I wouldn’t miss a day of my Robert Redford life.” Mann settled on Oscar winner and Hollywood legend Shirley Maclaine. “That’s a good one, right?” she said, adding that Maclaine’s film classics “The Apartment” and “Terms of Endearment” are two of her favorite movies of all time. “I think Jeremy Renner has got a nice thing going right now,” Bateman said of “The Avengers” and “Hurt Locker” actor. “Joaquin Phoenix is working with Paul Thomas Anderson then Spike Jones, not too shabby,” he added, seemingly torn between the two. “Ryan, top that.” “Wow. At this point, no news is good news when it comes to the nudes in The Change-Up . First Olivia Wilde ‘s suckle stalks were revealed to be CGI fakes, and now it looks like Leslie Mann ‘s supposed nude debut in the film is also a case of skinematic shenanigans. Skin Central received a tip from a reader that Leslie talked about her “nude debut” on Access Hollywood last week, and here’s what piqued our skinterest: Access Hollywood: There are some hilarious scenes- hilarious NUDE scenes- with the Thai food, the breast feeding…what was it like shooting those scenes? Leslie: To grow bigger boobs? (laughs) It was really hard, bit some people can do that, and I can. It’s this strange talent that I have. AH: So was there a body double? L: Yeah, I can do things like that. (laughs) Leslie’s being coy, but in The Change-Up her face is visible in both “topless” scenes- one where she bares her rightie breastfeeding a baby, and one when she emerges from the bathroom topless (The “Thai food scene”), making a body double all but skinpossible. So, we’re guessing this means her cans are actually CGI fakes, added after shooting was complete. If this trend continues, the only guys who’ll be seeing celebrity nudes in the future are post-production artists. Anybody want to help Skin Central learn Photoshop? By Sterling Wong, with reporting by Eric Ditzian Olivia Wilde in “Cowboys and Aliens” Photo: Universal Pictures Olivia Wilde is no stranger to big-budget productions — she did, after all, star in last year’s “Tron: Legacy.” But the actress is adamant about the fact that her latest blockbuster, this Friday’s much-anticipated “Cowboys & Aliens,” is not like any other that has come before this summer. “We are not a sequel, and we are not a superhero movie,” Wilde explained to MTV News, undoubtedly referring to the string of well-known franchise movies that have come our way thus far this summer, from sequels to “Harry Potter” and “Transformers” to comic book fare like “Thor” and “Captain America.” “So we’re an original piece of material and that’s really rare this summer.” OK, it’s no superhero movie, but “Cowboys” is based on a comic book. Still, Wilde emphasized that the plot isn’t exactly derivative. “Even though our title is based on a comic book, we’re not actually a comic book movie. The story is completely original,” Wilde noted. ” Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman , who wrote ‘Star Trek,’ wrote this story from scratch, just using the idea of the ‘Cowboys & Aliens’ comic book as inspiration.” Another way that “Cowboys & Aliens” stands out from the pack is the way it pays homage to a classic genre. “I think we’re bringing the Western to a younger audience in a major way, which I think is really exciting, because I love Westerns, and I’m happy to introduce this genre to a bunch of people,” Wilde said. Of course, no good Western is complete without its rugged leading men. “We have Daniel Craig, who I think embodied Steve McQueen in this role,” the actress gushed. “He’s so badass it’s unbelievable, and I think he’s really, really smart and interesting in this role, and I think Harrison Ford pulls out his best performance in years. The B-movie marquee title of Cowboys and Aliens suggests a picture that’s more irreverent, imaginative, and fun than the turgid movie that stands behind it. Rather than goosing the Western and sci-fi genres into the ring for a showdown, Jon Favreau’s follow-up to the Iron Man franchise takes a pretty radical structural shortcut: Replace the Indians in a classic, mix-’em-up Western with jacked-up, gold-greedy aliens. What’s most disappointing about the raucous but ultimately cumbersome result is the feeling — which only progresses as the improbable posse at the center of the film closes in on its intergalactic enemy — that Cowboys and Aliens may just as easily have been Cowboys and Zombies , or Werewolves , or Wall Street Time Travelers Venturing into the Past for Capital .
